TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a preceding vehicle estimation method for estimating a preceding vehicle to be subjected to vehicle interval control using a radar device mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For moving vehicles such as automobiles, adaptive cruise control that automatically controls the distance and speed of the vehicle so that it can follow the preceding vehicle running ahead of the host vehicle, and the risk of collision with the preceding vehicle Some devices are provided with an alarm device or the like for predicting and notifying. As one means for obtaining a signal for operating such an adaptive cruise control or an alarm device, a radar device is mounted on a vehicle and used.
[0003]
The radar device oscillates an electromagnetic wave, a light wave, or the like, receives a reflected wave reflected by a preceding vehicle, and measures a distance or a relative speed between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle based on a received signal. It is known that a noise component is superimposed on an original traveling locus of a traveling locus when a preceding vehicle is measured by a radar device due to an influence of random noise, an influence of a multipath due to a road surface condition, and the like. When the driving operation of the own vehicle is performed based on the traveling trajectory information in a state where the noise component is superimposed, the actual position of the preceding vehicle does not match the position obtained from the traveling trajectory information, which causes a safety problem. In some cases. Therefore, a filtering process is often performed to remove noise components from the traveling locus information and extract information close to the actual traveling locus. The filtering process is also performed to prevent an error in the preceding vehicle determination due to the fact that the predicted trajectory of the preceding vehicle obtained by the steering sensor or the yaw rate sensor is different from the actual trajectory.
[0004]
Hereinafter, the filtering process will be described. The most important vehicle in the operation of the adaptive cruise control and the alarm device is a preceding vehicle running on the same lane as the own vehicle. Therefore, in the operation of the adaptive cruise control or the warning device, the preceding vehicle probability, which is the probability that the preceding vehicle exists on the same lane as the lane in which the own vehicle runs (hereinafter, referred to as the own lane), is calculated. In general, the largest preceding vehicle is set as the target vehicle for the driving operation control.
[0005]
By calculating the preceding vehicle probability for each preceding vehicle traveling in front of the own vehicle and calculating the temporal transition of the preceding vehicle probability of each preceding vehicle, the time transition of the relative position of each preceding vehicle with respect to the own lane, that is, traveling Information similar to the trajectory can be obtained. The preceding vehicle probability is given by the following equation (1), where α and β are filter constants, respectively.
Preceding vehicle probability = (α × previous preceding vehicle probability + β × this probability) / (α + β) (1)
[0006]
Here, the current probability is a probability determined in advance according to the relative position of the preceding vehicle measured by the above-described radar device, and is derived from the relative position. An example of the method of deriving the probability this time is as follows. FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating a method of calculating the current probability as a function of the relative distance TL to the preceding vehicle and the relative lateral position SL. FIG. 14A shows a relative distance TL and a relative lateral position SL of the preceding

Here, the relative lateral position SL is represented by a plus (+) when the preceding

[0010]
The current probability indicates the probability that the preceding vehicle is traveling on the own lane. Using the present probability derived in accordance with the position information as measured by the radar device and the previously calculated preceding vehicle probability, the filter constants α and β are calculated when calculating the current preceding vehicle probability in accordance with Equation (1). Smoothing using is called filter processing.
[0011]
FIG. 17 is a diagram showing the preceding vehicle probability obtained by the filter processing of the related art. In FIG. 17, the detection of the leading vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle is started by the start of the radar device, and the time transition until it is determined that the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane, or from the adjacent lane which is the lane adjacent to the own lane. The time transition from when the detection of the leading vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle that has changed lanes to the own lane (hereinafter, referred to as an interrupt) is started and until it is determined that the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane is shown. The threshold value is a boundary value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane. When the preceding vehicle probability is equal to or greater than the threshold value, it is determined that the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane, and is smaller than the threshold value. It is determined that the vehicle does not exist on the own lane.
[0012]
[0013]
FIG. 18 is a diagram showing that the establishment of the preceding vehicle when the preceding vehicle departs from the own lane is determined by the filter processing of the related art.
[0014]
In the prior art, for example, when the received signal level of the radar suddenly changes, it is considered that there is an interruption of the preceding vehicle and the filtering process is performed in order to eliminate a decrease in responsiveness caused by performing such a filtering process. Responsiveness is improved by reducing the number of samples (data). In another prior art, a rapid movement state such as interruption of a preceding vehicle is detected, and different filter constants are set according to the movement state to improve responsiveness (for example, see Patent Document 2).
[0015]
However, there is a problem that it is not possible to respond to a preceding vehicle performing a rapid driving operation with sufficient responsiveness only by reducing the number of samples or changing the filter constant in the filtering process as in the prior art.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to calculate a preceding vehicle probability for estimating a preceding vehicle to be a driving operation control target by a filtering process, and to have a sufficient responsiveness to a sudden driving operation of the preceding vehicle. The object of the present invention is to provide a preceding vehicle estimating method capable of obtaining the following.
[0018]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention oscillates an electromagnetic wave or a light wave from the own vehicle, obtains a relative position of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle based on a reception signal obtained by receiving a reflected wave from the preceding vehicle, and is predetermined according to the relative position. Using the current probability derived from the relative position as the probability, a preceding vehicle probability, which is a probability that the vehicle is present on the same lane as the lane in which the own vehicle travels, is calculated, and the calculated preceding vehicle probability is the maximum. In a preceding vehicle estimation method of estimating a vehicle as a target preceding vehicle to be controlled between vehicles,
A preceding vehicle estimating method is characterized in that a predetermined offset value is used as an initial value of the preceding vehicle probability when performing a filtering process when calculating the preceding vehicle probability.
[0019]
According to the present invention, when performing the filtering process when calculating the preceding vehicle probability, a predetermined offset value is used as an initial value of the preceding vehicle probability. By giving the offset value to the initial value in this way, when the preceding vehicle probability is calculated by the filter processing, the preceding vehicle is on the own lane compared to the case where the calculation is started from the initial value of the preceding vehicle probability: 0%. The time required until it is determined that it exists is reduced. Therefore, the host vehicle can quickly respond to a sudden driving operation such as interruption of a preceding vehicle.
[0020]
Further, the present invention determines in advance a threshold value Cr that is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle is on the traveling lane of the own vehicle,
When the current probability is equal to or greater than the threshold Cr,
The preceding vehicle probability is a value obtained by subtracting a predetermined value α1 from the threshold value Cr (= Cr−α1).
[0021]
Further, the present invention determines in advance a threshold value Cr that is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle is on the traveling lane of the own vehicle,
When the current probability is less than the threshold Cr,
The preceding vehicle probability is a value obtained by adding a predetermined value α2 to the threshold value Cr (= Cr + α2).
[0022]
According to the present invention, a threshold value Cr, which is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle exists on the traveling lane of the own vehicle, is determined in advance. A value obtained by subtracting a predetermined value α1 from the threshold value Cr (= Cr−α1). When the value is less than the threshold value Cr, the preceding vehicle probability is set to a value obtained by adding the predetermined value α2 to the threshold value Cr (= Cr + α2). As described above, when the value of the current probability becomes equal to or more than the threshold value, the preceding vehicle probability is forcibly corrected so as to become a value close to the threshold value. As a result, it is possible to reduce the time required to determine whether the preceding vehicle has interrupted or left the own lane.
[0023]
Further, according to the present invention, a filter constant used in the filter processing is:
It is characterized in that the shape of the lane in which the host vehicle travels in the traveling direction is different between a straight line and a curved line.
[0024]
According to the present invention, the filter constant used in the filter processing is set so that the shape of the traveling lane of the vehicle in the traveling direction is different between a straight line and a curved line. When the shape of the traveling direction of the own lane is a curve, it may be erroneously recognized that the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane due to the radius (R) of the curve even though the preceding vehicle exists on the adjacent lane. . In such a case, if an offset value is given as an initial value of the preceding vehicle probability at the time of calculating the preceding vehicle probability by the filtering process, the vehicle that is not present on the own lane and the vehicle on the own lane that is equal to or larger than the threshold in a short time And unnecessary operation control is performed. Accordingly, when the shape of the own lane in the traveling direction is a curve, for example, the filter constant for the current probability is set lower than that in the case where the shape of the own lane in the traveling direction is a straight line, so that the responsiveness is adjusted and unnecessary. Is suppressed from being performed.
[0025]
Further, the present invention oscillates an electromagnetic wave or light wave from the own vehicle, obtains a relative position of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle based on a reception signal obtained by receiving a reflected wave from the preceding vehicle, and determines the relative position of the preceding vehicle in accordance with the relative position. Is calculated using the current probability derived from the relative position to calculate the preceding vehicle probability, which is the accuracy of being on the same lane as the lane in which the vehicle travels, and the calculated preceding vehicle probability is the maximum. In a preceding vehicle estimation method for estimating a preceding vehicle as a target preceding vehicle to be controlled between vehicles,
A threshold value Cr, which is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle exists on the traveling lane of the own vehicle, is determined in advance,
When there are a plurality of preceding vehicles whose current probability is equal to or greater than the threshold Cr,
This is a method for estimating a preceding vehicle, wherein the preceding vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle having the shortest relative distance among the relative positions with respect to the own vehicle is made larger than the preceding vehicle probability of the remaining preceding vehicles.
[0026]
According to the present invention, a threshold value Cr, which is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle exists on the own lane, is determined in advance. The preceding vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle having the shortest relative distance among the relative positions with respect to is made larger than the preceding vehicle probability of the remaining preceding vehicles. As described above, when the preceding vehicle interrupts the own lane and the current probability becomes equal to or larger than the threshold Cr, the preceding vehicle probability of the interrupted preceding vehicle is larger than the preceding vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle that has been the control target from before. Can be forcibly corrected so as to increase.
[0027]
As a result, the vehicle to be controlled is interrupted by the preceding vehicle, which has been the control target before, and becomes closer to the own vehicle even though the preceding vehicle that has interrupted is close to the own vehicle. It is possible to prevent occurrence of a problem that the vehicle is not replaced with the preceding vehicle. Therefore, even when the preceding vehicle performs a sudden interruption operation or the like, the preceding vehicle closest to the own vehicle on the own lane can be quickly and accurately estimated.
[0028]
Further, the present invention oscillates an electromagnetic wave or light wave from the own vehicle, obtains a relative position of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle based on a reception signal obtained by receiving a reflected wave from the preceding vehicle, and determines the relative position of the preceding vehicle in accordance with the relative position. Is calculated using the current probability derived from the relative position to calculate the preceding vehicle probability, which is the accuracy of being on the same lane as the lane in which the vehicle travels, and the calculated preceding vehicle probability is the maximum. In a preceding vehicle estimation method for estimating a preceding vehicle as a target preceding vehicle to be controlled between vehicles,
Of the relative position of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle, when performing a filter process when calculating the relative lateral position that is the distance that the preceding vehicle is separated from the center line of the lane in the traveling direction of the own vehicle in the vertical direction, A preceding vehicle estimating method characterized in that a filter constant used for filtering is set to be different depending on the preceding vehicle probability.
[0029]
According to the present invention, when estimating the presence / absence of a preceding vehicle on the own lane, when performing a filtering process when calculating a relative lateral position used as an important element as in the case of the preceding vehicle probability, it is used for the filtering process. The filter constant is set differently according to the preceding vehicle probability. As a result, the trajectory of the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle is smoothed, so that an excessive response to the relative lateral position information of the preceding vehicle is suppressed, and a smooth driving operation of the own vehicle is realized.
[0030]
Further, according to the present invention, when a relative distance is calculated from among the relative positions of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle and the filter processing is performed when calculating the relative lateral position, a filter constant used for the filter processing may be different according to the relative distance. Is set.
[0031]
According to the present invention, among the relative positions of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle, the relative distance is obtained, and when performing the filter processing when calculating the relative lateral position, the filter constant used for the filter processing is changed according to the relative distance. Set. For example, when the relative distance is long, the filter constant is set so that the response is low, and when the relative distance is short, the filter constant is set so that the response is high. As a result, if the relative distance is long and it is not necessary to handle the vehicle as a preceding vehicle to be controlled, the driving operation must be performed with an appropriate responsiveness. For vehicles having a high vehicle speed, the driving operation can be performed with high responsiveness, so that the own vehicle can be safely and smoothly driven.
[0032]
In addition, the present invention is based on the information on the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle relative to the own vehicle, based on the information about the relative lateral position, the moving direction of the preceding vehicle and either the direction approaching or leaving the lane in which the own vehicle runs. When calculating the relative lateral position and performing the filtering process when calculating the relative lateral position, a filter constant used for the filtering process is set to be different depending on the moving direction.
[0033]
According to the present invention, a filter process is performed when calculating the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle by obtaining the moving direction of the preceding vehicle and the direction of approaching or leaving the lane in which the own vehicle is traveling. When performing, the filter constant used for the filter processing is set to be different depending on the moving direction. For example, when the preceding vehicle performs an interrupt operation, a filter constant is set so as to increase responsiveness, and when the preceding vehicle performs a departure operation, a filter constant is set so as to reduce responsiveness. Accordingly, it is possible to presume that the preceding vehicle that performs the interrupting operation is present on the own lane early, and that the preceding vehicle that performs the leaving operation is long and exists on the own lane. As a result, the preceding vehicle that is to be the target of the driving operation control can be captured for a necessary and sufficient time as being on the own lane, so that a safer driving operation can be realized.

On the other hand, the temporal transition of the preceding vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle A2 is increasing, and the vehicle is moving in a direction approaching the own lane.

When the preceding vehicle A2 becomes equal to or greater than the threshold value Cr at the time Tm1, that is, when the preceding vehicle A2 moves on the own lane, the judging means 21 performs the calculation together with the judgment result that the preceding vehicle A2 exists on the own lane. [0069]
Even if the preceding vehicle A2 interrupts between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle A1 on the own lane, the relative distance is short if the preceding vehicle A1 having a high preceding vehicle probability is subjected to the driving operation control. Since the preceding vehicle A2 that is present in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle is ignored, there is a safety problem. Therefore, as described above, among a plurality of preceding vehicles that are present on the own lane, the preceding vehicle that is present at a distance closest to the own vehicle is set as the preceding vehicle to be controlled for driving operation. By forcibly correcting the preceding vehicle probability of the vehicle so as to be larger than the remaining preceding vehicle probabilities, the preceding vehicle can be accurately estimated.

[0071]
FIG. 11 is a diagram illustrating an example in which the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle is calculated using different filter constants according to the preceding vehicle probability. The calculation example indicated by
[0072]
When the preceding vehicle probability is less than the threshold Cr, for example, when the relative lateral position is calculated using the above-described 1/2 filter, the relative lateral position XR calculated at the time of the current scan and the relative lateral position calculated by the previous filter processing are calculated. Since the same weighting is applied to XB, the amount of movement of the relative lateral position (| XA-XB |) obtained from the calculation result of the filtering process is large, and a highly responsive detection result is obtained.
[0073]
On the other hand, when the preceding vehicle probability is equal to or greater than the threshold Cr, for example, when the relative lateral position is calculated using the above-described 4 filter, the relative lateral position XR calculated at the time of the current scan is smaller than the relative lateral position XR calculated by the previous filter processing. Since the horizontal position XB is weighted, the amount of movement of the relative horizontal position (| XA-XB |) obtained from the calculation result of the filter processing is small, and a detection result with reduced responsiveness is obtained.
[0074]
In this way, it is determined whether or not the vehicle is present on the own lane with the previous preceding vehicle probability, and for the preceding vehicle that is not yet on the own lane, the relative lateral position is calculated with high responsiveness, and By calculating the relative lateral position while suppressing the responsiveness of the preceding vehicle existing in the vehicle, the movement trajectory of the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle is smoothed according to the degree of urgency. Excessive response to the position information is suppressed, and a smooth driving operation of the own vehicle is realized.
[0075]
FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating an example in which the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle is calculated using different filter constants according to the relative distance. The filter processing means 20 can also calculate the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle using different filter constants according to the relative distance TL between the host vehicle and the preceding vehicle. The calculation example denoted by
[0076]
When the relative distance TLS of the preceding vehicle is short, for example, when the relative lateral position is calculated using the above-described 1/2 filter, the relative lateral position XB calculated by the previous filtering process and the relative lateral position XR calculated at the time of the current scan are calculated. , The relative lateral position movement amount (| XA-XB |) obtained from the calculation result of the filtering process is large, and a highly responsive detection result is obtained.
[0077]
On the other hand, when the relative lateral position TLL of the preceding vehicle is long, for example, when the relative lateral position is calculated using the above-described 4 filter, the relative lateral position calculated by the previous filter processing is smaller than the relative lateral position XR calculated at the time of the current scan. Since the position XB is weighted, the amount of movement of the relative lateral position (| XA-XB |) obtained from the calculation result of the filter processing is small, and a detection result with reduced responsiveness is obtained.
[0078]
As described above, the relative distance TL between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle is obtained, and the relative lateral position is calculated using the filter constant suitably selected according to the relative distance TL. If the vehicle does not need to be handled as a vehicle, the driving operation is performed with an appropriate responsiveness. If the relative distance TLS is short and the vehicle needs to be handled as a preceding vehicle to be controlled, the driving operation is performed with a high responsiveness. Therefore, safe and smooth operation of the vehicle can be realized.
[0079]

【The invention's effect】
[0083]
Further, according to the present invention, a threshold value Cr, which is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle is on the traveling lane of the own vehicle, is determined in advance. Is a value obtained by subtracting a predetermined value α1 from the threshold value Cr (= Cr−α1).
[0084]
Further, according to the present invention, the filter constant used in the filter processing is set so that the shape of the traveling lane in which the own vehicle travels is different between a straight line and a curved line.
[0085]
Further, according to the present invention, the threshold value Cr, which is a value for determining whether or not the preceding vehicle is on the own lane, is determined in advance. The leading vehicle probability of the preceding vehicle having the shortest relative distance among the relative positions to the vehicle is set to be larger than the leading vehicle probability of the remaining preceding vehicle having the long relative distance.
[0086]
As a result, the vehicle to be controlled is interrupted by the preceding vehicle, which has been the control target before, and becomes closer to the own vehicle even though the preceding vehicle that has interrupted is close to the own vehicle. It is possible to prevent occurrence of a problem that the vehicle is not replaced with the preceding vehicle. Therefore, even when the preceding vehicle performs a sudden interruption operation or the like, the preceding vehicle closest to the own vehicle on the own lane can be quickly and accurately estimated.
[0087]
Further, according to the present invention, when estimating the presence or absence of a preceding vehicle on the own lane, when performing a filtering process when calculating a relative lateral position used as an important element like the preceding vehicle probability, the filtering process is performed. The filter constant to be used is set differently according to the preceding vehicle probability. As a result, the trajectory of the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle is smoothed, so that an excessive response to the relative lateral position information of the preceding vehicle is suppressed, and a smooth driving operation of the own vehicle is realized.
[0088]
Further, according to the present invention, among the relative positions of the preceding vehicle with respect to the own vehicle, the relative distance is further determined, and when performing the filter processing when calculating the relative lateral position, the filter constant used for the filter processing differs depending on the relative distance. Set as follows.
[0089]
Further, according to the present invention, when calculating the relative lateral position of the preceding vehicle, the moving direction of the preceding vehicle is determined either in the direction approaching or away from the lane in which the host vehicle is traveling. Is performed, the filter constant used for the filter processing is set to be different depending on the moving direction.
