Abstract
Description
【0001】

カーボンブラックは、中でもファーネスブラックが好ましく、その具体例としては、GPF(General Purpose Furnace)、HAF(High Abrasion Furnace)、ISAF(Intermediate Super Abrasion Furnace)、などが挙げられる。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a blanket for offset printing.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a blanket in offset printing, a support layer consisting of a plurality of base fabrics and a surface print layer made of an oil-resistant rubber (NBR or the like) integrally formed thereon by vulcanization, or a support layer formed on a cylindrical sleeve. And a surface printing layer made of an oil-resistant rubber integrally formed thereon by vulcanization is widely used, and the support layer generally includes a compressible layer (for example, Patent Document 1) 3). In offset printing, the surface printing layer (also referred to as a surface rubber layer) is required to have good ink inking property, transferability, durability, and the like. In particular, in recent years, in order to adapt to high-speed printing at about 1000 rpm, the surface printing layer directly in contact with the printing medium has sufficient durability, and further has excellent ink transfer properties and paper separation properties. It is desired.
[0003]
Heretofore, the surface printing layer has been designed to be divided into a case where the swelling of the surface rubber is increased with emphasis on the ink adhesion and a case where the tan δ of the surface rubber is reduced with emphasis on the paper separation property. However, in the former case, ink swelling is good due to the large swelling of the surface rubber, but on the other hand, tan δ is large, and paper releasability and ink cleaning properties are poor. In the latter case, paper releasability is poor. Although good, there is a difficulty in durability due to the formulation reasons of maintaining ink inking property and keeping tan δ small.
[0004]
Generally, a plasticizer such as dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate, or tricresyl phosphate is added to the rubber composition of the surface printing layer for the purpose of imparting flexibility. In particular, since the stability of the outer diameter is important for a cylindrical blanket, secondary vulcanization is performed in an environment of about 120 ° C. to promote the change in the outer diameter, and then finish polishing is performed. However, there is a problem that the plasticizer volatilizes during the secondary vulcanization. Furthermore, the printing blanket may be stored in a relatively high temperature environment for a long period of time during the distribution process after its manufacture, for example, during transportation overseas, and the change in rubber properties at that time cannot be ignored.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, the blanket for offset printing is required to be further improved in terms of compatibility with high-speed printing and improvement of storage stability, and it is very important to improve the performance of the surface printing layer. . An object of the present invention is to solve such a problem.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In view of solving the above problems, the present inventors have been studying a rubber composition constituting the surface printing layer, and the surface printing layer contains zinc oxide and a plasticizer in a specific weight ratio with respect to the rubber material. At the very least, by vulcanization molding, it has succeeded in obtaining a blanket for offset printing in which the paper releasability is well maintained and the ink inking property, ink transferability and durability are excellent. It was also found that adipic acid ester was particularly suitable as a plasticizer used together with zinc oxide.
[0008]
That is, the present invention relates to the following blanket for offset printing.
1) In a blanket for offset printing including a support layer and a surface print layer laminated on the support layer, the surface print layer is composed of 100 parts by weight of a rubber material, 7 to 20 parts by weight of zinc oxide, and 10 parts by weight of a plasticizer 10 A blanket for offset printing, comprising a vulcanized rubber composition containing up to 40 parts by weight.
2) The blanket for offset printing according to the above 1), wherein the blanket contains 12 to 40 parts by weight of a plasticizer.
[0009]
3) The blanket for offset printing according to 1) or 2) above, wherein the plasticizer is an adipate.
4) The blanket for offset printing according to any one of the above items 1) to 3), wherein the rubber material is acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber.
[0010]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The blanket for offset printing of the present invention has a layer structure including a support layer and a surface print layer laminated on the support layer. FIG. 1 shows an example of the layer structure. The
[0011]
In the present invention, the surface printing layer is formed of a vulcanized rubber composition containing 100 parts by weight of a rubber material, 7 to 20 parts by weight of zinc oxide, and 10 to 40 parts by weight of a plasticizer. As the rubber material constituting the layer, oil-resistant rubber is suitable, and examples thereof include synthetic rubber such as acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), hydrogenated NBR, chloroprene rubber (CR), polyurethane rubber, and acrylic rubber. NBR is most preferably used.
[0012]
Zinc oxide (zinc white) conventionally functions as an accelerating activator in the vulcanization of rubber, and is used as a vulcanizing agent for halogenated rubber and carboxylated SBR or NBR. Although there has been an example in which zinc oxide has been added to the surface printing layer of a blanket for offset printing, the amount of addition is about 3 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the rubber material (for example, see Patent Documents 1 to 3). ). On the other hand, in the present invention, zinc oxide is added in an amount of 7 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the rubber material, which is higher than in the conventional case. If the zinc oxide does not reach this range, the improvement of the paper releasability of the blanket is not sufficient, and if it exceeds this range, the vulcanization proceeds excessively and is not suitable.
[0013]
On the other hand, the plasticizer is added in a ratio of 10 to 40 parts by weight, preferably 12 to 40 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the rubber material. It is a feature of the present invention that the amount of the plasticizer is also larger than usual, assuming that zinc oxide is added in a larger amount than before as described above. As described above, by combining the amounts of zinc oxide and the plasticizer in the respective specific ranges, all of the paper releasability, durability, and outer diameter stability of the surface printing layer are improved. When the amount of zinc oxide is less than 7 parts by weight, even if the amount of the plasticizer is more than 10 parts by weight, these improvement effects are not recognized. However, if the amount of the plasticizer is too large, bleeding occurs. Therefore, it is necessary to suppress the amount of the plasticizer to 40 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the rubber material.
[0014]
As the plasticizer in the present invention, a synthetic plasticizer is preferably used. For example, in addition to dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl phthalate (DOP) or tricresyl phosphate, an adipic acid ester is particularly preferably used. The adipic acid ester can exert its effect well even at a relatively low blending amount in the above-mentioned range of the blending amount of the plasticizer, and has a greater effect of maintaining the outer diameter stability of the blanket. Examples of the adipate include dibutyl adipate, n-hexyl adipate, 2-ethylhexyl adipate, diisodecyl adipate, dibutyl diglycol adipate and dioctyl adipate.
[0015]
The surface printing layer is preferably prepared such that tan δ is 0.10 or less and the tensile strength Tb based on JIS K6251 is 4 MPa or more in terms of physical properties. By setting tan δ to the above value, paper releasability is particularly improved, while it is preferable to set the above Tb range from the viewpoint of durability. By blending zinc oxide and a plasticizer in the above-described ranges, tan δ and Tb can be adjusted to the above-mentioned values.
[0016]
The surface print layer is prepared by appropriately compounding a vulcanizing agent, a vulcanization accelerator, a filler, and the like, as described later, according to a conventional method, except that zinc oxide and a plasticizer are added to the rubber material as described above. This is dissolved in a solvent such as toluene to form a rubber paste, which is laminated on the support layer by blade coating or the like.
The thickness of the surface printing layer is usually set in the range of 0.05 to 0.8 mm, preferably 0.1 to 0.6 mm, and more preferably 0.2 to 0.5 mm. If the thickness of the surface printing layer is less than the above range, the pattern of the base fabric of the support layer may appear on a printed image. Conversely, if the thickness exceeds the above range, the distortion during printing becomes too large, and the print quality may be degraded. The hardness of the surface printing layer is suitably adjusted in the range of 40 to 75 °, preferably 50 to 65 ° in JIS A hardness. When the hardness of the surface printing layer is lower than the above range, the distortion at the time of printing becomes too large and the paper discharging property is reduced, and when the hardness exceeds the above range, the flexibility of the surface printing layer becomes insufficient. There is a possibility that the solid inking property may be reduced.
[0017]
The surface roughness of the surface printing layer is preferably at 10μm or less in 10-point average roughness R Z. When the surface roughness of the surface printing layer exceeds the above range, there is a problem that the quality of the printed halftone dots is disturbed and the printing quality is reduced.
Next, the support layer in the printing blanket of the present invention usually has a basic structure of an incompressible support composed of a plurality of base fabrics, and a compressible layer is appropriately disposed thereon. Further, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the support layer may include a yarn layer formed in a spiral shape on a cylindrical sleeve.
[0018]
The non-compressible support (also referred to as a reinforcing layer) constituting the support layer is composed of a base cloth layer formed by applying a rubber paste to a base cloth made of natural fibers or synthetic fibers or a blend of these fibers. Examples of the base fabric include those made of a woven or non-woven fabric such as cotton, polyester, and rayon. Among these, a woven fabric subjected to stretch processing is preferable.
As the rubber paste for the base fabric layer, for example, a rubber material such as acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), acrylic rubber (ACM), chloroprene rubber (CR), and a vulcanizing agent, a vulcanization accelerator and a necessary What added a thickener etc. according to is used. Usually, it is appropriate to set the thickness of one base fabric layer in the range of 0.2 to 0.5 mm. The number of the base fabric layers may be appropriately set according to the characteristics required for the product and the like. Usually, the number of the base fabric layers is 1 to 5, but it is preferably a plurality of layers.
[0019]
Next, this layer when the compressible layer is provided will be described.
The material of the compressible layer is preferably selected from rubbers, resins, thermoplastic elastomers and the like, which have resistance to ink and cleaning liquid. In particular, a rubber composition containing acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) containing carbon black can be preferably used in view of strength, processability, and cost.
The compressible layer is made of a porous elastic member as described above, and each of the pores inside the layer has an independent independent pore structure, and the other has a continuous pore structure in which each pore communicates with each other. There is. In the present invention, either structure may be used, or both structures may be used together. Among the above, the compressible layer having an independent pore structure is, for example, a method of dispersing a foaming agent that generates a gas by thermal decomposition in unvulcanized rubber and foaming simultaneously with the vulcanization of the rubber, or in the rubber. It is formed by a method of dispersing hollow fine particles (micro balloon method). On the other hand, the compressible layer having a continuous pore structure disperses extractable particles such as salt in unvulcanized rubber, and after vulcanization, uses a solvent (water in the case of salt) that does not affect the properties of the rubber. The particles are formed by a method of extracting the particles (leaching method).
[0020]
The ratio of pores (voids) in the compressible layer (hereinafter referred to as “porosity”) is not particularly limited, but is usually in the range of 25 to 75%, preferably 30 to 60%, and more preferably 35 to 50%. It is appropriate to adjust. If the porosity of the compressible layer is below the above range, the compressibility may be reduced and the adjustment of the printing pressure may be insufficient. Conversely, if the porosity exceeds the above range, the resilience may be reduced, causing settling, or the printing pressure required for printing may not be obtained.
[0021]
The foaming method of the compressible layer may be any known one, such as a salt extraction layer, a method of blending hollow microspheres, or a method using a foaming agent. The thickness of the compressible layer is generally 0.1 to 0.6 mm, and is appropriately selected so as to fall within the range of G * . The compressible layer is formed by dissolving the above-mentioned material in a solvent (eg, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, etc.) and applying it to a predetermined thickness on a base cloth, or after dispensing to a predetermined thickness by a calender (rolling machine) or the like, It can be formed by a method such as pressure bonding with a body.
[0022]
Various additives are appropriately added to the compressible layer together with the material. In the case of a rubber material, a vulcanizing agent and, in addition thereto, a vulcanization accelerator, a vulcanization accelerator, an antioxidant, a reinforcing agent, a filler, a softener and a plasticizer are appropriately added. As described above, the shear modulus G * of the support layer can be adjusted to a range of 6 to 12 MPa depending on the type and amount of the additive, and for example, the type and additive of carbon black as a reinforcing agent for a rubber material can be adjusted. By appropriately selecting the amount, G * can be adjusted to fall within the above range. Among the carbon blacks, furnace black is preferable, and specific examples thereof include GPF (General Purpose Furnace), HAF (High Absorption Furnace), and ISAF (Intermediate Super Abrasion Furnace). The amount of carbon black to be added is usually 35 to 55 parts by weight, preferably 40 to 50 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the rubber material, although it depends on the type.
[0023]
Examples of the vulcanizing agent, vulcanization accelerator, antioxidant, filler and the like which can be used in the present invention are shown below.
Examples of the vulcanizing agent include organic sulfur-containing compounds such as tetramethylthiuram disulfide (TMTD) and N, N'-dithiobismorpholine, and sulfur. Further, an organic peroxide-based crosslinking agent can be used as the vulcanizing agent. Specific examples of the organic peroxide crosslinking agent include tert-butyl hydroperoxide, di-tert-butyl peroxide, dicumyl peroxide, tert-butylcumyl peroxide, and 1,1-bis (tert-butylperoxy) cyclododecane. 2,2-bis (tert-butylperoxy) octane, 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di (tert-butylperoxy) hexane, 1,3-bis (tert-butylperoxyisopropyl) benzene, n-butyl- 4,4-bis (tert-butylperoxy) valerate, benzoyl peroxide, 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl peroxide, tert-butylperoxybenzoate and the like can be mentioned.
[0024]

You can also.
[0025]
Examples of the antioxidant include monophenolic compounds such as 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl (BHT) and 2,2′-methylenebis (4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol). Various antioxidants such as bisphenol-based or polyphenol-based 2,5-di-tert-butylhydroquinone, benzimidazole-based, thiourea-based, phosphorous-based, and organic thioacid-based compounds can be used alone or in combination. More than one species can be used in combination.
[0026]
Examples of fillers include inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate, hard clay, soft clay, silicic anhydride, barium sulfate, diatomaceous earth, talc, mica, asbestos, graphite, pumice stone, etc .; recycled rubber, powdered rubber, asphalts, styrene resin, glue And other organic fillers.
The printing blanket of the present invention is obtained by coating the above-mentioned rubber paste for a surface printing layer on the support layer via a primer layer, and heating and pressing the obtained laminate at a predetermined pressure and temperature. It is produced by sulfurizing and integrally molding. The printing blanket thus obtained is mounted on the peripheral surface of the cylinder of the blanket cylinder, directly or via an underlay material.
[0027]
The support layer in the printing blanket of the present invention is produced by laminating the compressible layer and the non-compressible support. The thickness of the entire support layer is generally set to be in the range of 1.20 to 1.85 mm, preferably 1.50 to 1.75 mm.

[0031]
Preparation of Compressible Layer As shown in Table 2 below, components such as a vulcanizing agent, a vulcanization accelerator, and a filler are mixed in NBR at the respective proportions shown in the same table, dissolved in toluene, and further dissolved in acrylonitrile-based resin. The hollow fine particles were mixed to obtain a rubber paste for a compressible layer. Hollow microspheres calculated to have a porosity of a predetermined amount (40%) were mixed. After applying the rubber paste of Table 2 on the base cloth and drying, the rubber paste for the compressible layer was glued to a predetermined thickness to obtain a compressible layer.

Paper detachability: The printer was mounted on a Ryobi printing machine 520 and operated, and the paper detachability was visually observed.
:: Good paper release property △: Slightly poor paper release property X: Poor paper release property Durability; Mounted on Ryobi printing machine 520 and run idle 100,000 times to visually check the occurrence of scratches on the surface print layer did.

:: Good ink transferability △: Slightly poor ink transferability X: Poor ink transferability The results of evaluation tests performed on each of the blankets for offset printing obtained above are shown in Table 3. As a result, the offset printing blanket (Examples 1 to 7) having the surface printing layer prepared by blending zinc oxide and a plasticizer (dioctyl phthalate, DOP) based on the present invention was satisfactory in all the evaluation items. The desired results were obtained. In addition, a good evaluation result is obtained when tan δ is 0.10 or less.
[0040]
On the other hand, when the compounding amount of zinc oxide does not reach 7 parts by weight, even if the DOP amount is 15 parts by weight, the durability, the Tb value, and the ink transfer property are inferior (Comparative Example 1), or the paper separation. Poor in comparison (Comparative Example 2). In Comparative Example 1, the paper releasability was improved by mixing a polysulfide rubber as in the conventional method, but satisfactory performance in terms of durability and ink transferability was not obtained. Also, when 25 parts by weight of zinc oxide is blended, vulcanization is too fast to form a layer (Comparative Example 3). Furthermore, even when zinc oxide is used in the amount according to the present invention, when the amount of the plasticizer exceeds 40 parts by weight, the plasticizer (DOP) causes bleeding (Comparative Example 4).

Examples 8 to 14 and Comparative Examples 8 to 9
In the above Examples and Comparative Examples, each of the compositions shown in Table 4 was used except that adipic acid polyester ("PN-170" manufactured by Asahi Denka) was used instead of DOP as a plasticizer in the surface print layer. A blanket for offset printing was produced in the same procedure. Table 4 shows the results of evaluating the tan δ (1), Tb, paper releasability, durability, and ink transferability, and further, the outer diameter stability of these blankets by the method described above. Here, the outer diameter stability was determined as good (○) when the outer diameter change of the test piece for external diameter measurement after heat aging at 120 ° C. for 48 hours was within 0.03 mm. Further, tan δ (2) in the table indicates a measured value after heat aging at 120 ° C. for 48 hours.
[0042]
[Table 4]
[0043]
As shown in this table, the blankets for offset printing of Examples 8 to 14 showed satisfactory results in all evaluation items. Adipic polyester is a particularly effective plasticizer in maintaining outer diameter stability.
[0044]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, an offset printing blanket having a surface printing layer formed by mixing zinc oxide and a plasticizer based on the present invention is excellent in paper separation, durability, ink transferability, and outer diameter stability. And is particularly suitable as a blanket for high-speed printing.
