TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for forming a piston used for a hydraulic cylinder or a hydraulic shock absorber.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Generally, in a hydraulic cylinder or a hydraulic shock absorber, a piston rod is movably inserted into a cylinder via a piston, and the piston is composed of a piston body and a synthetic resin ring fitted on an outer periphery of the piston body. The inner periphery of the cylinder slides through the ring.
[0003]
As a piston used in this type of hydraulic cylinder or hydraulic shock absorber, for example, a piston disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-295677 (see Patent Document 1) has been developed.
[0004]
As shown in FIG. 4, the piston P includes a piston main body 1 connected to a piston rod 3 and a synthetic resin ring 2 fitted on the outer periphery of the piston main body 1. The ring 2 includes a plurality of annular grooves 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, and 1e along the outer periphery of the piston body 1, and a ring body 2a formed on the inner peripheral side of the ring body 2a. A plurality of inner peripheral side annular projections 2c and 2d fitted to 1a to 1e, and a lip 2b formed at an end of the ring main body 1 and curving outward, the lip when the piston P is inserted into the cylinder. 2b comes into contact with the inner circumference of the cylinder.
[0005]
As a method of forming the piston P, a method disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-295679 (see Patent Document 2) has been developed.
[0006]
That is, as shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B, the method of forming the piston P includes a piston main body 1 provided with a plurality of annular grooves 1d and 1c along the axial direction on the outer periphery, and an outer peripheral surface of the piston main body 1. A ring-shaped base member A made of a synthetic resin in a piston constituted by a ring 2 composed of a ring main body 2a fitted to the ring and an inner peripheral side annular projection 2c fitted to each of the annular grooves 1d and 1c. Is fitted into the annular groove on the end face side of the piston body 1 (see FIG. 5 (a)). Then, while the piston body 1a is fixed with the fixing jigs 7 and 8, the above ring base material is fixed by the die 9. A is pressed into the outer circumference of the piston main body 1 and pressed therein. Further, during this pressing process, the ring base material A is heated and softened to flow into the ring main body 2a along the outer circumference of the piston main body 1 and the respective annular grooves 2c. Form the circumferential annular protrusion (Fig. (B) reference) is intended.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The above conventional piston P has the advantage of preventing the fluid such as oil from leaking from between the piston P and the cylinder because the ring 2 has the lip 2b that warps outward. The following problems occur.
[0009]
That is, when the piston P is formed by the method shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B, the ring 2 is formed by using the disk-shaped base material A. Lip 2b is automatically and inevitably bent outward at the end of the base material A.
[0010]
Since the lip 2b has no means for suppressing the outwardly warped deformation, the effect of trying to return to the original shape becomes stronger, and the lip 2b tends to be opened outward.
[0011]
Therefore, it is advantageous to use this shape as a lip for oil leakage.
[0012]
That is, the lip 2b exerts an initial sealing function by the interference of the inner circumference of the cylinder, and when an internal pressure is applied, the lip 2b spreads outward and comes into stronger contact with the cylinder, has a self-sealing function, and has a piston P and the inside of the cylinder. Prevents oil leakage between circumferences.
[0013]
However, the self-sealing function is disturbed, and the sealing performance is suddenly improved during the conversion from the compression stroke to the extension stroke in the direction of arrow Y in FIG.
[0014]
For this reason, when this piston is applied to a hydraulic shock absorber of a vehicle suspension, the piston may generate a rugged feeling, which may cause deterioration of ride comfort.
[0015]
For example, FIG. 6 shows a damping force characteristic waveform with and without the lip 2b. In the absence of the lip 2b, the compression-side characteristic a and the extension-side characteristic b are circular, but the lip 2b is present. In this case, a spike-like sharp waveform C is generated at the time of switching to the extension side.
[0016]
Therefore, in order to eliminate the suddenly generated waveform C, for example, a jig 10 shown in FIG. 7 is used, and the lip 2b is forcibly bent toward the piston body 1 on the tapered surface of the jig 10. Adoption becomes possible.
[0017]
However, the use of another jig 10 again requires additional processing equipment, requires many processing steps, is troublesome, and is disadvantageous in workability and economy.
[0018]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a piston having excellent workability and economy, and a molding of the piston, by eliminating a lip that warps outward at the end of the ring.
[0019]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a method of molding a piston according to the present invention includes a piston main body having a plurality of annular grooves on an outer periphery along an axial direction, a ring main body fitted on the outer periphery of the piston body, and each of the annular grooves. A step of bending the outer peripheral side of a disk-shaped synthetic resin ring base material into a U-shape in a piston constituted by a ring composed of an inner peripheral side annular projection fitted to the ring base; A step of fitting the inner peripheral end of the material into the annular groove on the end face side of the piston body, a step of pressing the ring base material into the outer periphery of the piston body with a die, and pressing the ring base material during the pressing step. Forming a ring body along the outer circumference of the piston body formed by softening and an inner peripheral side annular projection to be flown into each of the annular grooves; and pressing an end of the bent ring base material against an outer surface of the piston body. Process And it is characterized in that it consists of.
[0020]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. The piston according to the present invention is used for a hydraulic cylinder or a hydraulic shock absorber, and its basic structure is shown in FIG. Is the same as the prior art.
[0021]
That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the piston P according to the present invention comprises a piston main body 1 and a ring 2 fitted on the outer periphery of the piston main body 1 as in the prior art. The ring 2 is provided with a plurality of annular grooves 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f along which the ring 2 presses and pushes the disc-shaped synthetic resin base material A into the outer periphery of the piston body 1 to heat and soften it. And a ring main body 2a along the outer periphery of the inner ring and inner circumferential side annular projections 2c which flow into and fit into the respective annular grooves 1a to 1f.
[0022]
In the present invention, both ends 2d and 2B of the ring main body 2a are particularly bent toward the piston main body 1 so as to contact the outer surface of the piston main body 1.
[0023]
In this case, both ends 2d and 2B of the ring main body 2a are bent and fitted into the respective annular grooves 1a and 1f on both sides.
[0024]
For this reason, in the piston P of the present invention, the lip in which both ends 2d and 2B of the ring main body 2a warp outward is eliminated as compared with the related art.
[0025]
An annular overlay 2C may be formed on the outer surface of the terminal end 2B, and the overlay 2C may be slid on the inner periphery of the cylinder to prevent oil leakage.
[0026]
Next, the method of forming the piston P will be described. The basic structure of the piston P is the same as that of FIG. 1, the piston body 1 having a plurality of annular grooves 1 a to 1 f along the axial direction on the outer periphery, and the piston body The ring 2 is composed of a ring main body 2a fitted to the outer periphery of the ring 1 and an inner peripheral side annular projection 2c fitted to each of the annular grooves 1a to 1f, and is formed in the next step.
[0027]
First, as shown in FIG. 2, a lower mold M and an upper mold N are used, and the outer peripheral side of a disk-shaped synthetic resin ring base material A sandwiched between the two is formed into a V-shape in cross section. Bend.
[0028]
Next, the ring base material A removed from each of the molds M and N is fitted with the inner peripheral end of the ring base material A into the end face side annular groove 1a of the piston body 1 as shown in FIG. Let it.
[0029]
Next, as shown in FIGS. 3B and 3C, the ring base material A is pressed and pressed into the outer periphery of the piston main body 1 by the die 9.
[0030]
Then, a ring main body 2a is formed along the outer periphery of the piston main body 1 formed by pressurizing and softening the ring base material A during the above-mentioned pushing step, and an inner peripheral side annular projection 2c which flows into each of the annular grooves 1a to 1f. And a step of pressing the bent end portion 2B of the ring base material A against the outer surface of the piston body 1.
[0031]
The annular groove 1f may have the same shape as the other annular grooves 1a to 1e, and may have an open outer side as shown in the figure.
[0032]
According to the above-described method of molding a piston, the annular projection serving as one end 2d is forcibly bent by the die 9, and the other end 2B is bent to the piston body 1 side in an initial step in advance. For this reason, in the step of pushing the die 9, the die 2 is automatically brought into contact with the outer surface thereof toward the piston body 1, so that the ends 2 d and 2 B are prevented from warping outward, and the occurrence of a lip warping outward can be prevented. .
[0033]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the following effects can be obtained.
[0034]
1) According to the first aspect of the present invention, one end of the ring main body is automatically bent toward the piston main body by the die, and the other end is bent in the initial step in a U-shape in advance. During the process of pushing the ring base material with a die, it can abut against the piston.
[0035]
For this reason, it is not necessary to prepare another jig for preventing the occurrence of a lip after the indenting step by the die and perform the deformation processing, and the workability and the economy are excellent.
[0036]
2) According to the piston formed according to the first aspect of the present invention, since both ends of the ring main body are bent in the direction of the piston main body and abut against the outer surface of the piston main body, the both ends do not act as lips, The outer periphery of the ring main body can slide on the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder via an oil film.
[0037]
Accordingly, the piston slides in the cylinder in the extension side and the compression side, and does not generate a sudden pressure in the cylinder at the beginning of the operation switching.
[0038]
For this reason, even if a hydraulic cylinder or a hydraulic shock absorber using the piston is applied to a vehicle as a suspension or the like, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of lumpy feeling due to a sudden increase in internal pressure, and to improve the riding comfort in the vehicle.
