【0001】

The present invention relates to a twin-screw extruder for plasticizing or kneading and extruding a plastic raw material.
[0002]
[Prior art]
BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, a plasticizing and kneading twin-screw extruder for a plastic raw material, which is used in a part of a pellet manufacturing apparatus, is known. FIG. 5 shows a schematic diagram of an example of a conventional plasticizing and kneading twin-screw extruder for plastic raw materials.

[0009]
In addition, in order to improve the processing capacity by stably discharging the gas mixed with the raw material and thereby improve the kneading degree, the solid plastic transport section, the inner wall surface of the cylinder in the kneading section is subjected to groove processing. Some kneading screw extruders are also disclosed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0010]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 07-205142 A
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional kneading twin-screw extruder, when the molten plastic is sent from the molten plastic transport section to the gear pump via the discharge port and the diverter, the molten plastic is transported by the pressure generated in the flow path. The screw is filled, and the rotation of the screw applies energy to the molten plastic. As a result, in the case of the conventional kneading twin screw extruder, the gap between the cylinder and the screw in the molten plastic transport section is narrow, so the high shear force generated in the gap between the cylinder and the screw against the molten plastic filled in the screw As a result, there is a disadvantage that the heat generated by the molten plastic increases.
[0012]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a kneading twin-screw extruder for plasticizing a plastic raw material capable of reducing the amount of energy given to the molten plastic in order to suppress heat generation of the molten plastic. I do.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the screw extruder of the present invention is a screw extruder that incorporates a plurality of screws rotatably in a cylinder and plasticizes the supplied resin material by kneading,
A plurality of grooves extending in the axial direction of the cylinder are formed on the inner wall surface of the cylinder in a molten plastic transporting section, which is a region where the resin material in a molten state is transported by plasticization. .
[0014]
As described above, in the screw extruder of the present invention, a plurality of grooves extending in the axial direction of the cylinder are formed on the inner wall surface of the cylinder in the molten plastic transport section. Due to the formation of the groove, the volume of space between the cylinder and the screw in the molten plastic transport section is enlarged compared to the configuration without the groove, and the molten plastic is transported downstream. It is possible to improve the flow rate of the propulsion flow, which is the flow that flows.
[0015]
Each groove of the screw extruder of the present invention may be formed at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the inner wall surface (6a), or may have a substantially semi-elliptical cross-sectional shape. .
[0016]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0017]
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram illustrating a kneading twin-screw extruder for plasticizing plastic material according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is connected to a pellet manufacturing apparatus.
[0018]
On the discharge port 13 side of the kneading twin-screw extruder 1, a diverter 2 used for discharging dust in the kneading twin-screw extruder 1 and a diverter for increasing the extrusion pressure sequentially at the tip of the measuring section. A gear pump 3, a screen changer 4 for exchangeably holding a screen for removing contaminants such as dust from a molten resin material, and a pellet manufacturing apparatus 5 for pelletizing molten plastic are connected.
[0019]
The kneading twin-screw extruder 1 generally transports the solid plastic to the plasticizing kneading unit 10 described later from the upstream side where the plastic raw material is supplied to the downstream side where the plastic material is kneaded to become molten plastic and discharged. A solid
[0020]
Next, FIG. 2 shows a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder in the molten plastic transport section.
[0021]
As shown in FIG. 2, the
[0022]
By the way, there are three types of molten plastic transport flow of a screw extruder: a propulsion flow, a back pressure flow, and a leakage flow. The propulsion flow is a flow for transporting the molten plastic downstream (to the right in FIG. 1), and the back pressure flow or the leakage flow is a flow returning upstream from the screw groove or the gap between the cylinder and the screw due to the back pressure.
[0023]
The flow rate of the propulsion flow can be improved by enlarging the space volume formed by the
[0024]
The above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 07-205142 also discloses a screw extruder in which a groove is formed in the inner wall surface of a cylinder. However, the groove in this known technique is formed in a solid plastic transport section and a kneading section. Its purpose is to stably discharge gas mixed in plastic raw materials.
[0025]
On the other hand, an object of the present invention is to focus on a transport section of molten plastic and to improve the transport capacity by providing a groove in the transport section of the molten plastic.
[0026]
In other words, the invention of the present application and the invention disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 07-205142 are the same in that a groove is formed in the inner wall surface of the cylinder, but the location where the groove is formed is different, and the purpose is different. It is.
[0027]
Next, the operation of the kneading twin-screw extruder of the present embodiment will be described.
[0028]
The solid plastic raw material is supplied from a supply port 8, and the solid plastic is transported to the downstream plasticizing and kneading section 10 by the
[0029]
The molten plastic discharged from the discharge port 13 is sent to the gear pump 3 via the diverter 2. The gear pump 3 sends the sent molten plastic to the pellet manufacturing apparatus 5 which is directly connected, and the pellet manufacturing apparatus 5 produces pellets.
[0030]
In the present embodiment, the number of the grooves 15 is not particularly limited, and may be increased or decreased as needed. Further, the cross-sectional shape of the groove 15 is shown in FIG. 2 as an example of a semi-elliptical shape. Any shape may be used. Similarly, the groove depth and width may be any dimensions as long as the dimensions improve the ability to transport the molten plastic. Further, the groove depth may be constant in the axial direction of the cylinder, or may be deeper or shallower toward the downstream. Further, the groove depth of each groove 15 arranged in the circumferential direction may be different in the circumferential direction. For example, the groove depth of the groove 15 formed near the

Hereinafter, an example of the present invention will be described, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Note that the reference numerals used in the description of the present embodiment are the same as those used in the above-described embodiment.

That is, the effect of the presence or absence of the groove and the effect of the groove depth on the energy required to transport the molten plastic were examined. The groove depth shown in the present embodiment refers to the value F of the deepest portion of the groove 15 shown in FIG. 3, and the type having a B / groove depth of 0.5 mm has all 18 grooves. The groove depth F of the groove 15 is 0.5 mm, and similarly, in the case of the C / groove depth 1.0 mm type, the groove depth F of all 18 grooves 15 is 1.0 mm. The transport capacity of the grooved cylinder (B / groove depth 0.5 mm, number of grooves 18) is improved by 2% compared to the cylinder without groove processing (A / without groove). The processed cylinder (C / groove depth 1.0 mm, number of grooves 18) also improved by 3%.
[0038]
In addition, the specific energy of the grooved cylinder (B / groove depth 0.5 mm, the number of grooves 18) is reduced by 2% as compared with the cylinder without the groove processing (A / no groove). In addition, the cylinder with grooves (C / groove depth 1.0 mm, number of grooves 18) also decreased by 4%.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, since the groove is formed on the inner wall surface of the cylinder in the molten plastic transport section, the volume of space between the cylinder and the screw is enlarged. Thereby, it is possible to improve the flow rate of the propulsion flow, which is the flow for transporting the molten plastic downstream, that is, to improve the molten plastic transport capability. Further, since the molten plastic transport capacity is improved, the amount of molten plastic filling the screw is reduced, and the energy (specific energy) given to the molten plastic by the machine is reduced, so that heat generation of the molten plastic can be suppressed.
