Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus used for reading an image of a film in a digital photo printer or the like, and in particular, using an area image sensor in which reading elements are arranged in a lattice shape, and moving the area image sensor, The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus capable of obtaining an image with a high spatial resolution even when an image of the same frame is read by shifting the pixel more than four times.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, an image reading device (scanner) using an area CCD as an area image sensor has been proposed (for example, see Patent Document 1). For example, a conventional image reading device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is a device that photoelectrically reads an image shot on a film frame by frame. This conventional image reading apparatus includes an LED light source, a film carrier, an imaging lens unit, an area CCD as an area image sensor, a pixel shifting means provided in the area CCD, an amplifier (amplifier), an A / A It has a D (analog / digital) converter, a data correction unit, and an interpolation calculation unit.
The pixel shifting means in the conventional image reading apparatus is a moving means for moving the area CCD in two directions orthogonal to each other, and a piezo element is used.
[0003]
In a conventional image reading apparatus, reading light of R (red), G (green) and B (blue) is emitted from an LED light source and incident on a film to obtain transmitted light carrying this image. The transmitted light is imaged on the area CCD and read photoelectrically. By performing this reading sequentially using reading light of R (red), G (green), and B (blue), an image photographed on the film is separated into three primary colors of R, G, and B, and photoelectrically read.
At this time, with respect to the same image, the position of the area CCD is changed by the pixel shifting means in the same light source and the image is read, and the number of times of reading is adjusted so as to obtain a desired resolution.
[0004]
FIG. 10A is a schematic diagram showing the arrangement of reading elements of a conventional area CCD, and FIG. 10B is a diagram illustrating the arrangement of reading elements in reading after the first pixel shift in the area CCD shown in FIG. FIG. 6C is a schematic diagram showing the arrangement of the reading elements in the first, second, and third pixel shift readings in the area CCD shown in FIG.

Further, when the pixel is shifted 7 times and the image is read 8 times (not shown), the effective aperture ratio is 424%.
[0008]
As described above, the conventional area CCD has a problem that the aperture ratio is high, and when the image is read by shifting the pixels a plurality of times, if the number of times of image reading exceeds a predetermined number, further improvement of the spatial resolution cannot be expected. is there.
[0009]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and is a case where the reading position of an area image sensor in which reading elements are arranged in a lattice shape is changed and the same film image is read more than four times. However, an object of the present invention is to provide an image reading apparatus capable of obtaining an image with high spatial resolution.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention has a light source unit that emits reading light to be incident on a film image held at a predetermined position, and a light receiving surface having a predetermined effective light receiving area. A predetermined number of reading elements, which generate a pixel signal by performing photoelectric conversion according to the amount of light received on the surface, are arranged in a grid pattern with a predetermined density, and the film receives the transmitted light transmitted through the film image and receives the transmitted light. An area image sensor that reads an image by photoelectric conversion, and a reading position moving unit that moves a reading position of the area image sensor relative to the film image, and effective light reception of the light receiving surface of the reading element The area is reduced from an effective light receiving area determined by the predetermined density of the reading element, and the reading position of the area image sensor is changed with respect to the same film image by the reading position moving means. It is to provide an image reading apparatus is characterized in that to be able to perform many of the image reading a more times.
[0011]
In the present invention, the ratio of the total area of the effective light receiving areas of the light receiving surfaces of all the reading elements to the total area of the area image sensor is preferably 12.5 to 25%. Each of the reading elements preferably includes a light shielding unit that shields a part of the light receiving portion, and the effective light receiving area of the light receiving surface is reduced. Furthermore, it is preferable to have a lens that is provided at a position that matches the light receiving surface of each reading element and that condenses the transmitted light on the light receiving surface of the reading element.
[0012]
In the present invention, when the image reading is not performed by changing the reading position of the area image sensor with respect to the same film image by the reading position moving means, or when the number of times is small, the same film image On the other hand, the image reading can be performed once while the reading position of the area image sensor is moved by the reading position moving means.
In the present invention, the area image sensor preferably has the predetermined number of reading elements arranged in a staggered pattern at a predetermined density.

In a normal square grid CCD, it is necessary to shift the pixel twice or more in order to increase the image reading resolution by shifting the pixels and to obtain a square grid output pixel. Therefore, the x direction and the y direction are required. These two-axis pixel shifting means are required.

The rearrangement of pixels by this interpolation calculation is performed in the same manner as the method performed with the above-described reading size 1. That is, the image signals of the reading elements closest to each other are interpolated into an output image signal, the output image signal is assigned with the intermediate position of both reading elements as the output pixel position, and only this intermediate position is set as the output pixel position. Thus, a square-lattice pixel array is obtained.
