本発明は乗用車等の車両における自動車用ランプに装着されるインナーレンズに関するものである。

最近、自動車用ランプの光源として、比較的狭い照射角度で点発光して直進する発光素子(以下、LEDと称する。)を利用したものが実用化されている。たとえば図3に示すように、このLEDを光源とするいわゆる直射・反射タイプのものでは、LED101の一個一個に対して、その周囲にそれぞれ反射面102を配置し、各LED101からの光を、図示のように直接または反射面102にて反射して照射するようにしている。

あるいはまた、図4に示すように、いわゆる直射ステップ(インナーレンズ)タイプのものでは、ランプ200の光源として1個又は複数個のLED201を用い、その前面にレンズ(ステップ)202を配置する。そして、各LED201からの光は、図示のようにレンズ202を透過して面発光として照射される。なお、このタイプのランプ200はハイマウントストップランプ等で多く使用されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
図3に示すランプ100では、光を効率よく前方へ照射するために、1個1個のLED101毎に反射面102が設けられ、それぞれが点発光する。また、図4に示すランプ200では、LED201の前方にレンズ202が設けられ、面状の均一な発光をさせるようにしている。これらのランプ100,200においては、光源であるLED101,201からの光を単に反射或いは透過させるだけで、LEDの発光特性を有効利用するのが必ずしも容易でなかった。

以上の点を鑑みて本発明は創作されたもので、光源ランプであるLEDの発光を有効活用するとともに、意匠性に優れた自動車用ランプを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の自動車用ランプは、光源ランプを備えた自動車用ランプに装着されるインナーレンズであって、その正面中央で光源ランプからの光を透過させて照射する透過部と、この透過部の周囲で前記光源ランプからの光を反射させて照射する反射部とを有することを特徴としている。

前記構成において、前記透過部には、光源ランプからの光に指向性を持たせて照射するレンズ部が形成され、このレンズ部以外の領域では漏光を使って面発光させることができる。前記反射部は、好ましくは、前記透過部の周囲に概略リング状に一体に形成される。

図1は、本発明によるインナーレンズを適用した自動車ランプを示している。この実施の形態において、ランプ10は、自動車ボディの前端に配置されるヘッドランプや補助灯などであっても、また、後端部に配置構成されるリヤコンビネーションランプであってもよく、ランプ本体11に、後述するインナーレンズ12が装着される。

インナーレンズ12は、合成樹脂材料、好適にはアクリル樹脂により成形され、その前面の正面中央において、光源ランプからの光を透過させて照射する透過部13と、この透過部13の周囲で光源ランプからの光を反射させて照射する反射部14と、反射部14の外周縁から延設した円柱状の側壁17とにより構成されている。

透過部13は、図1及び図2に示すように、円盤状の第1の透過部12a(以下、透過部12aと称す)と、透過部12aの周縁から延設し、略円柱状の第2の透過部12b(以下、透過部12bと称す)と、により構成されている。

第1の透過部12aには、後述する各LED15に対応してレンズ部16(図2、A領域)が、例えば図示例のようにほぼ円周状もしくは中央部を基点として放射状に成形されており、LED15からの光に指向性を持たせて、即ち図2に示されるようにランプ10の正面方向に光を照射するようになっている。また、このレンズ部16以外の領域(図2、B領域)では漏光を使って面発光させることができる。
