Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an optical unevenness detection sensor suitable for detecting minute unevenness patterns such as fingerprints and imprints.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a typical device for detecting a minute uneven pattern such as a fingerprint, there is an optical detection device. As an optical type uneven pattern detecting device, a device using a prism is well known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0003]
In this conventional example, a right-angle prism is used, parallel light is incident from an incident surface, the incident light is totally reflected by an inclined surface of the right-angle prism, exits from an exit surface, and the exit light is imaged by a camera. ing. When an object having irregularities such as a finger comes into close contact with the inclined surface of the right-angle prism, incident light is totally reflected in the concave portion, but is not totally reflected in the convex portion due to a refractive index relationship. By this effect, the light and darkness becomes clear due to the unevenness, and the unevenness pattern can be detected.
[0004]
In the optical concavo-convex pattern detecting device having such a configuration, the light source and the camera must be arranged so that the incident light emitted from the light source and the outgoing light captured by the camera are substantially perpendicular to each other. It was difficult to reduce the size of the device.
[0005]
To deal with the problem of miniaturization of the unevenness detecting device, an unevenness pattern detecting device using an optical fiber plate has been disclosed (for example, see Patent Document 2).

The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and has as its object to provide a small and thin high-accuracy unevenness detection sensor that can irradiate a desired area and detect unevenness.
[0019]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is configured as follows.
[0020]
That is, the unevenness detection sensor of the present invention includes a light source that emits irradiation light, a contact surface with which a subject is contacted, a light guide member that guides the irradiation light to the contact surface, and the light guide member. A photoelectric conversion means for converting light incident through the light exit surface into an electric signal, comprising: a light conversion means disposed in close contact with or close to the light guide member; The means converts the irradiation light from the light source disposed at one end thereof into linear irradiation light and irradiates the light guide member with the light.
[0021]
Here, the linear shape refers to an elongated shape and has a certain width and spread, and preferably has a width corresponding to a region where unevenness is detected, for example, 2 mm width or less, preferably , 1.5 mm width or less.
[0022]
Further, the linear irradiation light means that the irradiation light is linear, and refers to a state in which the irradiation light is emitted from an elongated line light source.
[0023]
Here, the close contact includes not only the case where the light guide member and the light conversion unit are directly attached together but also the case where the light guide member and the light conversion unit are attached via an adhesive resin or the like. Further, the resin or the like is not used on the entire surface of the bonding surface, but is used only on a part thereof, and the other portions may be provided with a fine air layer.
[0024]
In addition, close means that it is near, and the surface of the light conversion unit that emits the irradiation light is, for example, within a distance of several mm, preferably, for example, within 1 mm of the light guide member. That means.

It is emitted as linear irradiation light along a predetermined direction, and becomes uniform linear irradiation light similar to the irradiation light from the line light source. In addition, it is possible to improve the reading accuracy of the unevenness of the subject.
[0031]
Further, since the reflection and refraction of the irradiation light by the light converting means are used, the number of light sources can be reduced, which is advantageous in terms of cost and power consumption can be reduced. Further, the light guide member and the light converting means can be brought close to or in close contact with each other, and the size can be reduced, particularly, the thickness can be reduced.

FIG. 11 shows the relationship between the reflection angle and the inclination angle of the fiber. As described above, the critical angle for total reflection at the fiber incident surface is θc, and light having an angle larger than this is totally reflected at the fiber incident surface. On the other hand, when the optical axis of the fiber is inclined at an angle φ with respect to the incident surface, the range in which the reflected light on the incident surface is totally reflected between the core and the clad in the fiber and transmitted in the fiber is the range of the incident surface. This is light that enters between the angle θa and the angle θb with respect to the normal line N. θa and φ are expressed by the following equation 1, and θb and φ are expressed by the following equation 2.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, irradiation light from a light source is converted into linear irradiation light by a light conversion unit and incident on the light guide member, so that uniform light is applied to the contact surface where the subject comes into contact. Irradiation becomes possible, and highly accurate detection of irregularities becomes possible. In addition, the number of light sources can be reduced, power consumption can be reduced, and cost can be reduced.
[0186]
In addition, the light guide member and the light conversion means can be brought close to or in close contact with each other, and the size can be reduced, particularly, the thickness can be reduced.
