Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a printing control method for an electrophotographic continuous paper printing apparatus having a double-sided printing or multicolor printing function.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When the electrophotographic continuous paper printing apparatus receives the print data, the controller creates printable print image data and sends it to the print unit. The printing unit is composed of an optical mechanism, a developing mechanism, and a transfer mechanism. The optical mechanism forms a latent image on the photoconductor in accordance with print image data, the developing mechanism attaches toner to the latent image, and prints by the transfer mechanism. Transfer toner to paper. The fixing unit heats and fuses the toner to fix it on the printing paper. By having a plurality of printing units and fixing units and repeating the printing process, double-sided printing and multicolor printing are realized.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When the print data is sent intermittently, the conventional electrophotographic continuous paper printing device stops when the last data toner is transferred to the print paper by the transfer mechanism and waits for the next print data. I do. During this time, the printing paper that has stopped for a long time in the vicinity of the heat-generating portion such as the fixing section contracts under the influence of drying due to the heat, so that the printing paper becomes slack or wrinkled. However, there is a disadvantage that the toner hardly adheres to the toner and the print quality cannot be maintained.
[0004]
An object of the present invention is to improve the above disadvantages and obtain a stable print quality of an electrophotographic continuous paper printing apparatus.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, when printing is stopped, the printing paper to which the print image data must be transferred by the transfer mechanism of the next printing process by adding a blank page after the print data, The printing is controlled so as to pass through a portion that generates heat, such as a fixing unit. The controller unit monitors the received print data with a microcomputer or the like to determine the timing of inserting the blank page, and detects a break in the print data or the last print data that cannot be continuously printed.
[0006]
Further, the controller unit may monitor the printing stop time and provide a time monitoring unit so as to add the blank page when a predetermined time has elapsed.
[0007]
An operation unit can be provided so that the number of blank pages to be added can be specified.
[0008]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0009]
FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram illustrating a printing control method of an electrophotographic continuous paper printing apparatus having a duplex printing function according to an embodiment of the present invention. The printing paper 7 is supplied from the paper feeding unit 4, the front surface is printed by the printing unit 11 and the fixing unit 16, the printing surface is reversed by the paper reversing mechanism 6, the back surface is printed by the printing unit 21 and the fixing unit 26, and the paper is discharged. Fold in paper section 5. Upon receiving the print data from the host computer, the controller unit 1 creates print image data that can be printed for each page and controls the printing operation of the entire apparatus. After creating the print image data, the controller 1 sends the print image data of the page to be printed on the front side to the optical mechanism 12 and the print image data of the page to be printed on the back side to the optical mechanism 22. The optical mechanism 12 includes a light emitting element such as a laser or an LED, and converts print image data into optical output to form a latent image on the photoconductor 13. The photoconductor 13 rotates in synchronization with the feeding of the printing paper 7, attaches toner to the latent print image by the developing mechanism 14, and transfers the toner to the printing paper 7 by the transfer mechanism 15. The transferred toner is heated and melted by the fixing unit 16 and fixed on the printing paper 7, and the printing on the front surface is completed. Similarly, the printing unit 21 and the fixing unit 26 print the back surface.
[0010]
Next, the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
[0011]
In the conventional print control method, the controller unit 1 receives, for example, eight pages of print data J1 from a host computer and starts a printing operation. When the next print data J2 is not received at the time when the transfer mechanism 15 sequentially transfers the toner corresponding to the print image data of the first page, third page, fifth page, and seventh page to the printing paper 7, For example, if the print data J1 is stopped for a long time, the heat of the fixing unit 16 causes the print data J1 to sag or wrinkle on pages 3 and 5 of the print data J1, for example. For this reason, when printing is resumed after receiving the next print data J2, the toner corresponding to the print image data of the fourth and sixth pages on the back side of the print data J1 is less likely to adhere to the transfer mechanism 25, and the print quality is reduced. Could not be maintained.
[0012]
According to the print control method of the present invention, the controller unit 1 receives, for example, eight pages of print data J1 from the host computer and starts a printing operation. If the next print data J2 is not received at the time when the toner corresponding to the print image data of the first page, third page, fifth page, and seventh page is sequentially transferred to the printing paper 7 by the transfer mechanism 15, printing is performed. A blank page is added after the data J1. At this time, the controller 1 adds, for example, six blank pages so that printing is stopped after the last seven pages of the print data J1 have passed at least the fixing unit 16. Therefore, when the first, third, and fifth pages of the front blank pages sequentially pass through the transfer mechanism 15, the printing is stopped in preparation for printing the next print data. As a result, it is possible to stop for a long time in the vicinity of the fixing unit 16 and to cause slack or wrinkles only on blank pages, and the toner corresponding to the print image data of the second page, the fourth page, the sixth page, and the eighth page of the print data J1. Can be normally attached to the printing paper 7 by the transfer mechanism 25.
[0013]
Further, the controller unit 1 is provided with a time monitoring unit 2 for monitoring the print stop time, and temporarily stops printing after transferring the surface of the print data J1. If the printing of the print data J2 cannot be started, the blank page is added to control the printing so that the fixing unit 16 is stopped for a long time after the last seven pages of the front surface of the print data J1 have passed. Only a blank page can be slackened or wrinkled after being stopped for a long time in the vicinity of the fixing unit 16. The transfer mechanism 25 can normally adhere to the printing paper 7.
[0014]
Further, the operation unit 3 is provided so that the number of blank pages to be added can be designated, such as by stopping printing after the print data J1 has passed through the fixing unit 16 or the fixing unit 26, so that printing can be stopped for a long time. A print range in which print quality can be maintained can be specified.
[0015]
Although an embodiment of the printing control method of the electrophotographic continuous paper printing apparatus having the double-sided printing function according to the present invention has been described, in the schematic configuration diagram of FIG. It is clear that the printing can also be applied to the multi-color printing function. In this case, the sheet reversing mechanism 6 may or may not be used.
[0016]
Further, according to the present invention, each configuration in FIG. 1 shown in one embodiment may be a single housing or may be divided into a plurality of housings.
[0017]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, by adding a blank page, the transfer mechanism of the next printing process, to which the toner according to the print image data must adhere to the printing paper, it is not possible to sag or wrinkle, Stable printing quality can be obtained.
[0018]
In addition, by monitoring the print stop time and adding a blank page only when a certain time has elapsed, it is possible to obtain stable print quality and save printing paper.
[0019]
Further, by specifying the number of blank pages to be added, it is possible to select a specific gravity between the effect of obtaining stable print quality and the effect of saving printing paper.
