健常者が使用するベッドにおいては、人によって大きく好み嗜好が違うのは当然であり、一方、病院にあっては、それぞれ使用者の傷病状況に応じて素材を選定し、ベッドを形成してきた。

前記分割部材4a〜4fを保持するための保持帯8は、前記ベーシック部材3を包む表地7の長手両側面近傍に沿って、帯状の布部材をループ状に縫着している。かかるループ状の保持帯8にそれぞれ分割部材4a〜4fの両端部近傍を差し入れて、前記分割部材4a〜4fの拡縮変形力によって、簡単には抜けないように保持する構成である。
なお、前記ベーシック部材3と中間部材4とは、逆に配置するようにしてもよい。

また、上層部材5と、前記ベーシック部材3または中間部材4とは、適宜な係着手段(図示省略)によって連結することができる。
