TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an inkjet recording head and a method for storing or transporting the inkjet recording head.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art When a newly manufactured inkjet recording head is sent from a manufacturer to a user or the like, the inkjet recording head is transported while being filled with a liquid composition in an ink flow path of the head.
[0003]
However, recently, when a user or the like removes the liquid composition in the ink flow path of the head and then injects the ink composition to perform printing, a discharge failure may occur.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present inventors have investigated the cause, when a user or the like removes the liquid composition in the ink flow path of the head, a small amount of the liquid composition remains on the wall surface of the head and the like, It was found that one of the causes was that the residual liquid composition was not easily completely replaced with the ink composition.
[0005]
That is, since the recent inkjet recording apparatuses are required to have high quality, the ink flow paths in the head and the nozzles are also miniaturized. Then, the volatile component evaporates, and the liquid composition in the ink flow path of the thickened head causes a discharge failure. The liquid composition in the ink flow path of the thickened head is quite complete with the ink composition. This is one of the causes of ejection failure.
[0006]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, the above problems can be solved by an ink jet head filled with a liquid composition only in the vicinity of a nozzle and a storage or transportation method using the ink jet recording head.
[0008]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ink jet head filled with a liquid composition only in the vicinity of a nozzle and a storage or transport method using the ink jet recording head. This makes it easier to replace the liquid composition remaining in the head with the ink composition as compared to the case where the ink composition is stored or transported in a state where the liquid composition is filled in the ink flow path of the head. It is possible to prevent a discharge failure due to the fact that the liquid composition in the ink flow path is not completely replaced with the ink composition.
[0009]
Incidentally, when stored or transported in a state where the liquid composition is filled in the ink flow path of the head, there is a merit that contamination of the inside of the head due to intrusion of the contaminants in the atmosphere from the nozzle portion can be prevented, In the present invention, the liquid composition is filled in the vicinity of the nozzle, so that the same effect is maintained.
[0010]
The liquid composition that can be used in the present invention is not particularly limited in terms of the amount, type, etc. of the composition, but preferably contains a nonvolatile component. This is because a composition containing only volatile components is lost due to volatilization when stored for a long period of time, and the above effects cannot be obtained. The term “non-volatile component” refers to a component that hardly changes in weight even when left in a normal temperature environment (for example, at 25 ° C. for one month).
[0011]
There are no particular restrictions on the amount, type, etc. of the nonvolatile components, but those using glycerin as one of the nonvolatile components are preferred. Specific examples of other nonvolatile components include polyalkylene glycols such as polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol; ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, triethylene glycol, 1,2,6-hexanetriol, thiodiglycol, and hexylene glycol. Polyols having an alkylene group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms such as diethylene glycol; lower alkyl ether acetates such as polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate; ethylene glycol monomethyl (or ethyl) ether; diethylene glycol methyl (or ethyl) ether; triethylene Lower alkyl ethers of polyhydric alcohols such as glycol monomethyl (or ethyl) ether; trimethylol pro Emissions, polyhydric alcohols such as trimethylol ethane; N- methyl-2-pyrrolidone, 2-pyrrolidone, 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone, and the like. The water-soluble organic solvents as described above can be used alone or as a mixture.
[0012]
The liquid composition that can be used in the present invention can also contain coloring materials such as dyes and pigments.
[0013]
In addition, additives such as a surfactant, an antifoaming agent, a preservative, an antifungal agent, a pH adjuster, and an antioxidant may be added as needed to obtain a liquid composition having desired physical properties. Can be.
[0014]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described specifically with reference to Examples, but these do not limit the scope of the present invention.
[0015]
(Liquid composition)
After the following components were mixed and sufficiently stirred, the mixture was filtered under pressure using a membrane filter (manufactured by Fuji Photo Film) having a pore size of 0.2 μm to obtain a liquid composition.
[0016]
Glycerin: 12 parts Ethylene glycol: 14 parts Dye C.I. I. Direct Blue: 1 part Nonionic surfactant Acetyleneol EH: 0.1 part Water: 72.9 parts (Example 1)
The ink jet head for the ink jet printer BJS-300 (manufactured by Canon) filled with the above liquid composition only in the vicinity of the nozzle was stored in an environment of 60 ° C./10% temperature / humidity for 60 days.
[0017]
(Comparative Example 1)
An ink jet head for an ink jet printer BJS-300 (manufactured by Canon) was filled with the above liquid composition in the ink flow path of the head with the liquid composition under an environment of 60 ° C./10% temperature / humidity. For 60 days.
[0018]
(Evaluation of storage stability of inkjet head)
Using the modified inkjet printer BJS-300 (manufactured by Canon Inc.) (changing the cleaning conditions), the ink jet heads of Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 after the above storage are stably ejected by all the nozzles. The storage stability of the inkjet head was evaluated depending on how many times the cleaning was performed. Naturally, it is considered that the smaller the number of cleanings until all the nozzles are stably ejected, the more stable the storage.
[0019]
As a result, the ink jet head of Example 1 clearly showed that all the nozzles stably ejected with a smaller number of times than the ink jet head of Comparative Example 1 and were excellent in storage stability.
[0020]
【The invention's effect】
The present invention provides an ink-jet head for an ink-jet printer that effectively suppresses ejection failure even after a long-term storage state in physical distribution or the like, and a storage or transport method using the head.
