子供の自転車練習の方法として大人が子供の自転車を手で確保しながら追走する方法もあるが何時も手で確保して居たのでは練習にならず時には手を放してやる事も必要である。

子供の自転車練習用として一般には自転車の左右に補助車が用いられているが真円の車輪の補助車では傾いた時に常時接地する事になりその間は自転車の練習にはならない。

自転車が傾いた時に車輪が常時接地しない補助車にするには車輪のシャフト軸を偏芯させるか又は車輪を真円ではない形に変形させれば実現出来る。

図1及び図2で偏芯車輪1、21は車軸2、22をを車輪の中心3、23からずらせたもので車輪の最短径4、24と車輪の最長径5、25を備える。
