TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a digital copying machine for copying an image by cutting a transfer paper continuously wound in a roll shape, and in particular, performs a combination of image scaling control, image rotation control, and margin control. The present invention relates to a digital copying machine in which a desired margin is automatically obtained without deteriorating the image quality.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, in recent digital copiers, an image scaling control function for scaling (reducing / enlarging) an image of an original and copying the image, and a margin for creating a margin at a desired position (up / down / left / right). There is provided an apparatus having a control function and an image rotation control function of rotating (90 degrees / 270 degrees) an image of a document and copying the image.
[Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application No. 8-251324 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application No. 8-655443
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional digital copying machine, there was no idea to control the image scaling control function, the margin control function, and the image rotation control function in an organically combined manner. And the image quality is reduced.
That is, in a digital copying machine in which the transportable width of the transfer paper and the original is the same as that of the original transport type, as shown in FIG. On the other hand, when an attempt is made to copy the document so as to have a margin of an arbitrary width on the left and right sides of the document, a method of reducing the image of the document and rotating it horizontally is best (shown in the lower part of FIG. 3). However, in order to achieve this, conventionally, the user once makes a copy at a magnification (71% in this case) such that the longer side B of the document matches the maximum transport width, and transfers the copied transfer paper there. This time, the original was again copied in a landscape orientation so as to obtain an output image having an arbitrary width on the left and right as shown in the lower part of FIG.
Therefore, in the above-described conventional technology, not only the user's labor and time are required, but also the image once copied is further copied as a document, so that the image quality of the output image is significantly reduced.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to automatically obtain a desired margin in a copied image without deteriorating image quality by performing control by organically combining an image scaling control function, a margin control function, and an image rotation control function. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a digital copier that has been developed.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an invention according to claim 1 is a digital copying machine for copying an image from an original by cutting transfer paper continuously wound in a roll shape, and reading the original from the original. Image scaling control means for scaling the image obtained, a margin control means for forming a desired margin when copying an image from the document, and an image rotation control means for rotating and copying the image from the document. A desired margin is automatically obtained by performing control by organically combining the image scaling control means, margin control means, and image rotation control means.
Therefore, a desired margin can be automatically obtained in the copied image without deteriorating the image quality.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the digital copying machine according to the first aspect, the transferable width of the transfer sheet and the original is the same as that of the original transport type, and the shorter side of the original is transported. If an attempt is made to copy a document having the same width as the document so that a margin of an arbitrary width is provided in the main scanning direction of the document, the length of the document after the set scaling process in the sub-scanning direction is A roll transfer paper of the same length is selected, the width of the original image after scaling is calculated in the main scanning direction, the width of the set margin is added to the width, and the length of the addition result is obtained. After the roll transfer paper is cut and conveyed from the leading end of the cut transfer paper by the margin to form the margin, the read original image is subjected to a setting scaling process, and the read original image is rotated by a predetermined angle to cut the transfer paper. The writing is performed on the.
Therefore, a desired margin can be automatically obtained in the copied image without deteriorating the image quality.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the digital copying machine according to the second aspect, the predetermined rotation angle is one of 90 degrees and 270 degrees.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided the digital copying machine according to the second aspect, wherein there is no roll paper feeding having the same length as the length of the original after the scaling process in the sub-scanning direction. The user is notified that the copying operation is not possible.
Therefore, an undesired margin is not formed in the copied image.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a schematic block diagram of an embodiment of a digital copying machine according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, this digital copying machine 1 includes a roll paper feed unit 3 having a roll paper feed stage in which a plurality of types of continuous roll transfer papers having different widths are stored, a margin amount and a margin place, and an automatic paper An operation unit 5 for specifying selection and the number of copies, a magnification, etc., a document size detection unit 7 for detecting the size of a document, a scanner 9 for reading an image from a document, and an image read by the scanner 9 An image control unit 11 for performing image scaling processing, margin control processing, image rotation processing, and the like in a combined manner, as described later, and a roll feed unit 3 based on an image and an instruction from the image control unit 11. A plotter 13 that forms an image on the cut transfer paper after cutting the continuous roll transfer paper to an arbitrary length, and selects a roll paper feed stage when the automatic paper selection function is selected. And a dynamic sheet selection section 15. Further, an image memory 17 for storing an image of a document is connected to the image control unit 11.
Next, the operation of the digital copying machine shown in FIG. 1 will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
FIG. 2 is an operation flowchart of the digital copying machine shown in FIG.
First, before the actual copying operation, various settings by the user are performed via the operation unit 5 in advance. That is, when the user wants to copy an enlarged document in an arbitrary direction in the main scanning direction or the sub-scanning direction with an arbitrary margin amount, the user first operates the operation unit 5 to perform main scanning. The user sets the margin in the direction (horizontal direction) or the sub-scanning direction (vertical direction), and then sets the margin amount in the set direction with the operation unit 5. Further, the user simultaneously sets the automatic paper feed stage setting or manually sets the paper feed stage.
In this copying operation, in order to clarify the effect of the present invention, as shown in FIG. A case will be described in which an attempt is made to copy a document whose shorter side A is the same as the maximum transport width so as to provide a margin of an arbitrary width on the left and right sides (main scanning direction) of the document.
[0006]
First, in step 101 of FIG. 2, it is determined whether or not a magnification is set for the document in the image control unit 11. If a magnification is set for the document, in step 103, the right and left It is determined whether or not a margin is set for the document. If margins are set on the left and right sides of the document, it is determined in step 105 whether or not automatic paper selection is selected. In the steps 101 and 103, when the magnification is not set for the original and when no margin is set on the left and right sides of the original, the existing copy operation is performed (steps 107 and 109).
Next, if the automatic paper selection is selected in step 105, in step 111, the width of the original after the scaling process set in the image control unit 11 is equal to the length in the sub-scanning direction. A search is performed to determine whether or not the roll paper is set. If the roll paper having a width equal to the length of the document in the sub-scanning direction is set, the automatic paper selection unit 15 determines in step 113 that the roll paper is set. The paper feed stage is selected, and the paper feed operation is started.
If automatic paper selection is not selected in step 105 (if paper selection is performed manually), the roll paper feed stage is selected in step 113, and a paper feeding operation is started. If it is determined in step 111 that the roll paper having the same width as the length of the original after the scaling process in the sub-scanning direction is not set, in step 115, the copying operation is determined to be NG (impossible). Will be notified. Therefore, an undesired margin is not formed in the copied image.
Next, when paper feeding is started in step 113, in step 117, the image controller 11 calculates the width of the original image after scaling in the main scanning direction, and sets the width of the margin set to the width. Is added, and the roll feed is cut so as to have the length of the addition result. Then, in steps 119 and 121, the image control section 11 carries out setting magnification processing on the read original image after conveying it from the leading end of the cut sheet feeding by the margin to form the margin, and clocks it by 90 degrees. Writing is performed by rotating clockwise (clockwise). The rotation of the image may be not only clockwise but also counterclockwise (counterclockwise), and the rotation angle of the image may be not only 90 degrees but also 270 degrees. However, in the case of the rotation of 270 degrees, the upper and lower sides of the image are opposite to the case of 90 degrees.
In a digital copy machine in which the transferable width of the transfer paper and the original is the same in the original transport type, the image of the original is scaled, and a margin of an arbitrary width is formed above and below the original (in the sub-main scanning direction). When an attempt is made to copy so as to provide a margin, a margin is created by a normal margin realizing method.
[0007]
【The invention's effect】
As can be understood from the above description, according to the present invention, in a digital copying machine in which the transportable width of the transfer paper and the original is the same in the original transport type, the shorter side A of the original is transported at the maximum. Even if an attempt is made to copy a document that is the same as a large document with a margin of an arbitrary width on the left and right sides (main scanning direction) of the document, the image scaling control function, the margin control function, and the image rotation control A desired margin can be automatically obtained without deteriorating the image quality by performing control by organically combining the functions.
