Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus, and more particularly, to a fixing device used in a copier, a printer, and the like, and an image forming apparatus including the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a method of controlling the power of a fixing heater in a fixing device of a copying machine, a cycle control method of turning on / off a heater driving current in half-wave units of an AC power supply has been proposed.
[0003]
For example, in Patent Document 1, in a fixing device using a halogen heater, at least three consecutive half-wavelengths of an AC power supply voltage applied to the heater are set as cycles, and one or a plurality of half-wavelength waveforms are thinned out. It is disclosed that the control (cycle control) is used to reduce an abrupt current change caused by the heater.
[0004]

[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the case of this cycle control method, a waveform having a frequency at which flicker worsens is obtained depending on a pattern in which a half wave is selected. Therefore, when cycle control is performed only on the heater, the number of control stages that can be used is limited, and the heater drive current cannot be finely controlled.
[0006]
Therefore, a technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus capable of increasing the number of heater driving stages of a fixing device without deteriorating flicker.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides an image forming apparatus having the following configuration to solve the above technical problem.
[0008]
The image forming apparatus includes a heater of a fixing device, other devices, and a cycle control unit. The cycle control means repeats a cycle of applying the AC power supply voltage to the heater and the other device in a pattern selected in half-wave units with a cycle of two or more half-waves. The cycle control means is operable with a plurality of sets of the patterns.
[0009]
According to the above configuration, even if the distribution pattern of the half-wave to the heater and other devices is changed, the pattern of the sum of the voltages applied to the heater and other devices during the cycle keeps the pattern that does not deteriorate the flicker. Can be
[0010]
Accordingly, it is possible to increase the number of heater driving stages of the fixing device without deteriorating flicker.
[0011]
Preferably, the cycle control means is configured such that a sum of voltages applied to the heater and the other devices during the cycle is a ratio at which a half-wave is not missing or a half-wave is missing with respect to the AC power supply voltage. Is operated in the above-mentioned pattern in which is 1/3 or 2/3.
[0012]
According to the above configuration, the combined waveform of the heater supply current waveform and the supply current waveform to another device is suitable for flicker, full-circle drive (no loss of half-wave), 1/3 half-wave drive (half-wave drive) (2/3 half-wave driving (half-wave missing ratio is 1/3)).
[0013]
Preferably, the other device is a converter that converts AC to DC.
[0014]
According to the above configuration, it is possible to provide a device driven by DC in the image forming apparatus and supply the device with the DC output from the converter. By using a half-wave component of the AC power supply that is not used for the heater of the fixing device for a device in the image forming apparatus, the power supply power can be effectively used. In addition, if a converter is used, power can be supplied to various devices driven by DC.
[0015]
Preferably, in the pattern, of the half-waves of the AC power supply voltage during the period, a half-wave applied to the heater and a half-wave applied to the other device are different.
[0016]
According to the above configuration, the energization periods of the half-wave applied to the heater and the half-wave applied to the other device do not overlap, so that the voltage applied to the heater and the voltage applied to the other device are maximized. Can be. In addition, it is possible to eliminate fluctuations in individual half-wave components of the sum of voltages applied to the heater and other devices, thereby preventing flicker from becoming worse.
[0017]

By the way, three driving methods, full-cycle driving, 全 driving, and 3 driving, are mentioned as suitable driving methods for flicker. [0033]
By controlling the drive timing of the DC power supply unit 4, the sum of the drive currents as viewed from the AC power supply 1 is represented by a waveform 3f (= 3c + 3e), and the state is 4/6 drive. The 4/6 drive is a multiple drive of the 2/3 drive suitable for flicker, and thus is suitable for flicker.

It turns out that it is possible.
[0039]
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, but can be implemented in other various modes.
