Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a termite-controlling material that eliminates an entire termite colony by causing termites in the soil to eat termite-killing substances that act on termites in a slow and non-repellent manner and bring them back to the colony, About the method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a conventional termite control technique, a technique (hereinafter referred to as "prior art 1") in which an termiticide composed of an organic phosphorus compound, a pyrethroid compound or the like is applied as an emulsion or a microencapsulating agent to soil under the floor is used. Has become. Termites such as the subterranean termites, the termite and the termite, form an ant path in the foundation and pipes through the underfloor soil and damage wood such as the foundation. Forming a barrier for termite control agents that cannot pass through is very effective in termite control measures.
[0003]
However, in the "prior art 1", a large amount of termiticide is sprayed under the floor, so that the termiticide scattered at the time of spraying the medicine has a bad influence on the health of workers, and the sprayed termiticide is in a residential environment. There is a problem of causing a sick house problem by contaminating the soil, and that the sprayed termiticide decomposes in soil to cause a reduction in efficacy.
[0004]
Therefore, a bait method has been proposed as a technique that does not spray such a termiticide. In this bait method, first, wood or the like that feeds on termites is buried in the outer soil of the building, and by periodically observing it, it is determined whether or not the termites exist around the building. When termites are detected, the technique is to exterminate termites by replacing wood as bait with bait (bait) (hereinafter referred to as “prior art 2”). The bait is obtained by impregnating a cellulosic base material such as wood or paper, which is easy for termites to eat, with a termiticide that acts on termites in a slow and non-repellent manner. Examples of such termicidal substances include compounds such as chlorfenapyr, fipyronyl, hydramethylnon, sulfuramide, hexaflumuron, diflubenzuron, chlorofluazuron, and triflumuron.
[0005]
According to “prior art 2”, termites take up these termiticides into the body by eating bait and bring them back to the colony to provide to other termites. It becomes possible to exterminate. Also, since this method does not spray a large amount of medicine under the floor, there is a great merit of reducing the load on people and the environment.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In “Prior Art 2”, it is unknown from the beginning whether termites exist around the building, and therefore, it is necessary to install timber as bait in the soil and periodically determine whether termites are eating. The presence of termites can be confirmed only after a thorough inspection. This inspection work is important, and if it is neglected, the termites will damage the building itself. This inspection is required about two to four times during the termite activity season, from spring to autumn. However, when the number of houses in the building increases, there is a problem that the burden of inspection work for termite damage is increased.
[0007]
In addition, if bait can be installed in the soil instead of bait for finding termites from the beginning, it is thought that the number of inspections can be greatly reduced, but the period until termites eat bait cannot be identified. In general, it is often necessary for several years, during which time there is a problem that the termiticide impregnated in the bait is degraded by soil moisture or microorganisms. Even if termites invade after the active ingredient in the bait is degraded, it does not function and may damage buildings.
[0008]
The present invention aims to solve such a problem.
That is, the present invention provides a termite-controlling material and a termite-control method using the termite-controlling material, which prevents deterioration of termiticidal substances that act on termites in a slow and non-repellent manner, thereby eliminating the burden of checking for termite damage. It is intended to be.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the invention described in claim 1 is a cellulosic base material that becomes food for termites impregnated with termiticides that act slowly and non-repellently against termites, A termite-resistant material, characterized by having a resin container enclosing the same and having poor water permeability and capable of being easily damaged by termites.
[0010]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the base material is selected from wood, sawdust, paper, and a cellulosic material.

The termiticidal substance which acts on the termites in a slow and non-repellent manner in the present invention is preferably at least one selected from chlorfenapyr, fipyronyl, hydramethylnon, sulfuramide, hexaflumuron, diflubenzuron, chlorofluazuron and triflumuron. Although it is composed of one kind of compound, it may be a compound which acts on other termites in a slow and non-repellent manner as long as it does not contradict the object of the present invention. The termites take up these termiticides into the body by eating the base material (bait) 5 and bring them back to the colony and donate them to other termites, so that the toxic substance spreads over the entire colony and eventually eliminates the termites. It becomes possible. According to the present invention, since a large amount of these termicidal substances are not sprayed under the floor, there is a great merit of reducing the load on people and the environment.

Since the polystyrene foam in the present invention is required to prevent moisture intrusion and not to hinder the perforation of termites as much as possible, the material should have a density of 15 to 100 kg / m 3 and a thickness of 1 to 100 kg / m 3. It is preferably about 5 cm. The polystyrene foam having the above-described density and thickness is preferably a container having a cylindrical box or a rectangular box (not shown) as shown in FIG. Used for constituent materials. After such a container 1 is filled with a base material (bait agent) 5 without gaps, the container 1 is covered with a lid 2. At this time, the container part 1 and the lid part 2 are preferably made of a polystyrene foam so that moisture does not enter from the joint thereof, that is, the joint between the inner fitting member 1a and the outer fitting member 2a. Seal completely with non-corrosive adhesive.

【Example】
(Example 1)
Chlorfenapyr was dissolved in methanol to obtain a 0.1% solution of chlorfenapyr. Next, the cardboard paper was immersed and taken out of the solution, and the cardboard paper was put into a ventilation dryer at 40 ° C. to completely remove methanol, thereby preparing a bait. The bait is rolled into a resin container made of a polystyrene foam having an inner diameter of 5 cm, an inner height of 15 cm, a thickness of 2 cm, and a density of 25 kg / m 3. Then, a lid was adhered to form a termite-proof material (see FIG. 1).
[0025]
(Test Example 1)
(Stability of termiticides)
An anti-termite material consisting of a resin container composed of a polystyrene foam into which the bait agent obtained in Example 1 was inserted was buried in outdoor soil. The burying depth of the termite-controlling material was set to be about 3 cm above the soil surface. The termite-proofing material was buried for 6 months and repeated 3 times. As a comparative example, a cardboard paper impregnated with a bait was wrapped in gauze and embedded. After the test was completed, the termite-control material was taken out of the soil, the resin container was cut off, and the cardboard paper inside was taken out to measure its weight. The cardboard was dried at 40 ° C. for 48 hours, and the weight was measured again. Subsequently, chlorfenapyr was extracted from the cardboard paper with acetone, and the remaining amount of chlorfenapyr was analyzed by HPLC. Those wrapped in gauze were measured in the same manner. However, the water content (%) of the bait after removal from the soil and the residual amount of chlorfenapyr (%) in the bait were calculated as follows.
-Moisture content (%) = (weight of bait immediately after taken out of soil-weight of bait after drying) / weight of bait after drying x 100
-Residual rate (%) = (amount of active ingredient in bait buried in soil / amount of active ingredient in bait stored indoors) x 100
[0026]
The measurement results are shown in Table 1 below.
[0027]
[Table 1]
[0028]
(Discussion)
The bait prepared in Example 1 and placed in a resin container composed of a polystyrene foam into which the bait has been inserted is almost stable without being decomposed even when buried in soil for 6 months.
[0029]
(Test Example 2)
(Eating damage test by termites)
A red pine sapwood (3.5 × 3.5 × 5 cm) was placed in a resin container composed of a polystyrene foam into which the bait obtained in Example 1 was inserted, and sealed with an adhesive. Five of these were prepared and buried at a distance of 1 m or more in the ground of a test site inhabiting the termites of Hachijo-jima, Tokyo. Similarly, five red pine sapwood that cannot be put in the container were buried. After 6 months, each was taken out of the soil and the degree of damage to the red pine was observed. The wood was not impregnated with termiticidal components in order not to kill termites on the test site.
[0030]
The measurement results are shown in Table 2 below.
[0031]
[Table 2]
[0032]
(Discussion)
House termites, even when wood was placed in foamed polystyrene containers, were as well attacked as those that did not. Therefore, it can be determined that even if the bait is covered with the expanded polystyrene, the bait is not hindered from being eaten.
[0033]
【The invention's effect】
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the cellulosic base material which becomes a food for the termite impregnated with the termiticide which acts slowly and non-repellently with respect to the termite, and the poorly permeable and the termite which encapsulates the same are easily prepared (1) Even if the base material is installed outdoors in the ground, it is not affected by moisture, so that decomposition by microorganisms can be prevented. (2) Termites Can function as a bait even when the invader has invaded it, which makes it possible to prevent the house from being damaged. This leads to the effect of saving various costs required for inspection.
