重量選別方式、映像判別選別方式において、果物やカキのように粒の大きさがまちまちな1ヶ単位を選別するような場合には、高度で精密な制御機構を有する装置を必要とすることから装置価格も高くなり、当目的の装置としては合理的な方法とはいえない。

下記特許文献1には、搬送ベルトコンベヤの表面に一定ピッチで凹部を形成し、この凹部に丸物の青果物を整列して載置し、その等級データをトラッキング処理する発明が記載されているが、構造が複雑であり、装置の設置に広い面積を必要とする。下記特許文献2には、採取されたアサリやハマグリを整列して搬送するコンベヤに載置し、超音波センサで選別する発明が記載されているが、上記特許文献1と同様に被選別物を整列載置させると言う手間のかかるものである。下記特許文献3には、選別する貝をホッパー内で拡散させ、篩枠で選別する発明が記載されているが、この篩枠自体は長方形の箱型内に複数の篩穴が並べて設けられたものであり、従来の篩枠とは格別改良されたものではない。

従って、この分野においては、機械化が遅れ、いきおい手作業による選別に頼らざるを得ないことにより、人件費、手間、時間などの問題から選別しないまま、出荷せざるを得ない状況もある。このことは折角の収穫を簡便に選別できる装置がないことと、あっても設備費が高く導入できないことからきているのである。このため、簡便で導入し易い価格の装置が開発され採用されることにより、手間が省け、人手をかけず、時間をかけずに、粒が揃った商品を市場に提供することができるとともに、市場価格が上がり生産者にとって大きな利益となる。

そこで、ホッパー自体の揺動を回転運動とする方式が行われた。回転運動と被選別品の容積による選別方式として、図3に示すような方法が用いられている。図3(a)は、従来の選別装置の平面図であり、図3(b)は側面図である。図3において、テーパー形状を有する1セット各2本の一定の長さのパイプ8−1,8−2で構成されており(図3では、1セット各2本で、2セット計4本のパイプ)、未選別品の投入部の方が直径が太く、先に向かって直径が細くなるように設置されている。各パイプはそれぞれが独自に回転でき、回転方向は互いに反対方向で、8−1のパイプは時計回り、8−2のパイプは反時計回りとなっている機構で、投入口から入れられた未選別品はパイプの回転によって移送され、パイプのテーパーにより、手前の方から形状の小さいもの順にパイプ間の隙間から落下して選別される仕組みとなっている。

本発明者は、従来の篩枠を用いることなく、特定構造のホッパーを用いることで上記課題を解決した。
即ち、本発明は、魚貝類又は青果物を形状・大きさで選別するホッパー、該魚貝類又は青果物を該ホッパーへ供給する投入口、該ホッパーで選別された魚貝類又は青果物を受け取るために該ホッパーの下部に設けられた分別仕切り板、該魚貝類又は青果物の内最大形状の部分を該ホッパーから排出する排出部、該ホッパーを回転させる駆動部を有する魚貝類又は青果物選別装置において、該ホッパー部が、複数本のパイプが円筒のラッパ状に配され、各パイプ間は、該投入口から該排出部に向かってテーパー状に配されているドラム型回転選別装置であることを特徴とする魚貝類又は青果物選別装置である。
