本発明は、ホース、チューブ、管等の曲面体に対し、接着剤、塗料等の液状体を均一な厚みになるように供給することができる液状体付着方法に関するものであり、特に、ホースに接着剤を塗布する工程に好適な、曲面体への液状体付着方法に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
ホースの製造に際しては、ホース内管と補強層、補強層と外被等との接着のため、一般的に接着剤を塗布する工程が必要とされる。例えば、図3に示すような接着剤の塗布手段にあっては、ホース内管の周囲に予め補強層を形成したホース中間体10をクロスヘッド11に送り、クロスヘッド11内において、接着剤押出機12から流路13を経て送られる接着剤により、ホース中間体10の外周面が被覆されて接着剤層が形成される(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、特許文献1に記載の接着剤の付着方法は、ホース中間体10の外径と、所望の接着剤層の膜厚に合わせたクロスヘッド11を個々に用意しなければならず、経済性の点で問題がある。また、接着剤層の膜厚を変える場合は、同じ外径のホース中間体10であったとしても、そのホース中間体10を別のクロスヘッド11に送らなければならず、生産性の点でも問題がある。

そこで本発明は、ホースの外径や接着剤の膜厚を変化させた場合であっても、直ちに適用することができ、しかも、ホースに限らず様々な曲面体に対し、接着剤に限らず様々な液状体を均一に付着させることができる曲面体への液状体付着方法を提供することを目的とするものである。

本発明は、以上の課題を解決するためになされたものであって、その要旨は、曲面体に対する液状体の供給手段と、曲面体に付着した液状体の厚みの計測手段と、計測手段に連動して液状体の供給量を増減させる調整手段とからなる曲面体への液状体付着方法に係るものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の液状体付着方法は曲面体に適用するものである。ここで曲面体とは、外表面が曲面で形成されており、上から液状体を付着させると下に流れてしまいそのままでは厚みを均一に保つことが困難な表面を有するものをいう。即ち、断面が円形、楕円形、扇形、∩字形等のホース、チューブ、管、ロープ、電線等が該当する。

また、本発明の方法で付着させる液状体は、上から曲面体に付着させると下に流れてしまいそのままでは厚みを均一に保つことが困難な流動性を有するものをいう。即ち、様々な粘度の接着剤、塗料、被覆材等が該当する。

そして、本発明の液状体付着方法は、曲面体に対する液状体の供給手段と、曲面体に付着した液状体の厚みの計測手段と、計測手段に連動して液状体の供給量を増減させる調整手段とからなる。即ち、供給手段によって曲面体に付着した液状体の厚みを計測手段によって確認し、その結果に応じて調整手段によって液状体の供給量を増減させることで、曲面体に対し液状体を均一な厚みで付着させるものである。

従って、例えば計測手段の設定値を変更するだけで、供給手段、計測手段及び調整手段を取り替えたりすることなく、様々な形状、外径、材質等を有する曲面体に対して、様々な種類、粘度等の液状体を、所望の厚みで均一に付着させることができる。

なお、液状体の供給手段としては、例えばタンクに液状体を貯蔵しておき、タンクにエアを送り、ホース先端に設けたノズルを通して供給する手段等が考えられる。また、液状体の厚みの計測手段としては、例えば曲面体の周辺にレーザーセンサーを配置し、曲面体とレーザー光線との距離を液状体の所望の厚みと一致させ、照射されたレーザー光線が液状体で反射されるか否かによって、液状体の厚みが適正であるか否かを計測する手段等が考えられる。更に、液状体の供給量を増減させる調整手段としては、液状体を貯蔵したタンクとノズルとの間のホースに自動バルブを設置して液状体の流量を調整する手段等が考えられる。

このように、本発明の曲面体への液状体付着方法は、その応用範囲が非常に広いものではあるが、好適なのは、曲面体がホースで液状体が接着剤である、ホースの製造に際しての接着剤塗布工程における使用である。即ち、供給手段がホース内管に補強層を巻き付けるガイド部に液状体を供給すると共に、計測手段が曲面体の周囲に付着した液状体の膜厚を計測し、曲面体を引きながらホース内管に補強層を連続的に巻き付けた際に、膜厚が均一になるように、調整手段が液状体の供給量を調整するものである。

以下、本発明の曲面体への液状体付着方法における最良の実施の形態を図面をもって説明する。図1は、本発明の液状体付着方法の一例を示す概念図である。図1に示す実施例は、曲面体1がホースで液状体2が接着剤である、ホースの製造に際しての接着剤塗布工程に使用したものである。

即ち、ホースの製造に際しては、ホース内管と補強層、補強層と外被等との接着のため、一般的に接着剤を塗布する工程が必要とされる。例えば、図1に示す工程では、ホース内管1Aを引きながら面板7を回転させると、ボビン8に巻かれたワイヤの補強層1Bが引き出され、ホース内管1Aにスパイラル状に巻き付けられる。

その際、エアによって貯蔵タンク3Aから圧送された液状体2(接着剤)をノズル3Cから吐出させると、液状体2(接着剤)自体の粘度によって、ガイド6の前部で玉状になる。そして、吐出量が多過ぎると玉状の液状体2(接着剤)が大きくなり過ぎて下に流れ落ちてしまう。一方、吐出量が少な過ぎると接着不良を起こして不適合品を発生させてしまう。

そこで、図2に示すように、曲面体1を構成するホース内管1Aの上方に取り付けた、反射型のレーザーセンサーからなる計測手段4によって不具合を回避する。即ち、計測手段4から照射されるレーザー光線とホース内管1Aとの距離を所望の膜厚tと一致させておく。そして、レーザー光線が反射された場合には計測手段4がONとなり、ホース3Bに設置した自動バルブの調整手段5を閉じることで、貯蔵タンク3Aからノズル3Cに液状体2(接着剤)が送られないようにする。

この点に関し更に詳述すると、計測手段4で照射されたレーザー光線が玉状の液状体2(接着剤)に当たり、反射光が発生した場合には、調整手段5の自動バルブが閉じて供給手段3を停止させ、液状体2(接着剤)の玉が大きくならないようにする。逆に、反射光が発生しない限り、調整手段5の自動バルブは開いたままとなり、液状体2(接着剤)が曲面体1(ホース)に付着し続けることとなるのである。

本発明の曲面体への液状体付着方法は、曲面体に対する液状体の供給手段と、曲面体に付着した液状体の厚みの計測手段と、計測手段に連動して液状体の供給量を増減させる調整手段とからなるので、例えば計測手段の設定値を変更するだけで、供給手段、計測手段及び調整手段を取り替えたりすることなく、様々な形状、外径、材質等を有する曲面体に対して、様々な種類、粘度等の液状体を、所望の厚みで均一に付着させることができる。
