しかしながら、上記従来の家具においては、この家具の1つである棚を、各板部材に分解し、これらの板部材をそのまま組み立てて、例えば、机等の別の形態の家具に形成することができなかった。

上記目的を達成するために、請求項1に記載の組立式構造体は、合成樹脂製の連結部材を複数個連結してなる組立式構造体であって、前記連結部材は、平板状の頂壁部と、この頂壁部の周端部から直角に折れ曲がった周壁部と、前記頂壁部の外側面に形成され、他の前記連結部材の前記周壁部の内側に挿入されて、この周壁部の内側に保持される外側突出部とを備えていることを特徴とする。

請求項1に記載の発明においては、連結部材の外側突出部を、この連結部材と同一の連結部材、あるいは長さ、幅、高さ、形状等が異なる他の連結部材の周壁部の内側に挿入して、これらの連結部材同士を連結することにより、組立式構造体が形成されるので、組立式構造体のデザイン、サイズおよび形態を自由に変えることができる。
例えば、組立構造体を各連結部材に分解して、これらの各連結部材を再び組み立てることにより、より小さい組立構造体を形成することができる。この際、余った連結部材を組み立てて、別の形態の組立構造体を形成することもできる。また、上記分解した各連結部材に、他の連結部材を加えて組み立てることにより、より大きい組立構造体を形成したり、あるいは異なるデザインの組立構造体を形成したりすることができる。さらには、色の異なる連結部材を組み合わせたり、あるいは表面に木目柄等の模様を付した連結部材を組み立てたりすることにより、組立構造体の外観を良くすることもできる。
また、組立式構造体は、容易に分解することができるので、大きな組立式構造体であっても、容易に運搬することができる。
また、連結部材が合成樹脂製なので、組立式構造体の軽量化を図ることができる。しかも、連結部材を容易に量産することができるとともに、製造コストを低減することができる。
なお、連結部材の形状は、直方体状、立方体状、円柱状、あるいは三角柱状等に形成することができる。
