量産される熱交換器は、各部品間を組み立てた後に、その相対関係を維持して各部品の接触部間を一体にろう付け固定することにより、熱交換器を完成していた。
即ち、図3に示す如く、一例として偏平なチューブ9とコルゲート型のフィン8とを交互に並列すると共に、その並列方向両端(右側を省略する)位置にサポート材2を配置してコアを組み立てる。そして夫々のチューブ9の両端(下側省略)をヘッダープレート1のチューブ挿通孔10に挿通すると共に、サポート材2の先端部2bをヘッダープレート1の外面側に接触する。
