【課題を解決するための手段】
左右方向に折り畳むことができる車椅子の左右のフレームに、取り付け金具で固定された左右一対の支柱を設け、それぞれの支柱の上端部に前後方向の水平回転軸を設け、これらの回転軸に、中央部の前端部と後端部で互いに連結された左右一対の天蓋フレームをそれぞれ枢着し、天蓋フレームの前後方向の中間部に、死点を超えてロックできる折れリンクを設けて左右の天蓋フレームを連結し、天蓋フレームを防水布などで覆い、車椅子が使用状態の時には、折れリンクを伸ばした状態でロックさせて天蓋を広げ、車椅子を折り畳む時には折れリンクを畳み、車椅子の折り畳み作動と連動して天蓋も折り畳むことができるように構成する。

また必要に応じて、天蓋周辺フレームに透明の垂れ幕を取り付ければ、かなりの風雨に際しても車椅子を十分使用できる効果がある。
