地上波チューナ20は、選局すべき周波数帯域等の選局チャンネル情報を与えられることにより、所望の放送チャンネルの信号をOFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)復調器21に出力する。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a digital broadcast receiving device. In particular, with respect to a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that receives broadcast data and additional information related to a broadcast attached to the broadcast data, it is convenient for a user set based on a specific criterion in order to update the additional information to the latest state. The present invention relates to a digital broadcast receiving apparatus that starts the operation of updating the attached information at a good specific time.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a digital broadcast receiving apparatus is included in SI (Service Information) received from a broadcast channel in order to display ancillary information related to broadcasting such as program information constituting an electronic program guide (EPG: Electronic Program Guide). A process of fetching additional information such as an existing EIT (Event Information Table) at appropriate times and updating the additional information stored in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus to the latest state is performed. The process of updating the attached information can be performed during normal viewing or based on a request from the user. However, during a period in which the additional information requested by the user has not yet been completely received and the update has not been completed, the user is required to completely receive the desired additional information and complete the update process of the additional information. There was a problem that I had to wait for it.
[0003]
As a method of automatically updating the acquired attached information without making the user aware of the occurrence of the waiting time, for example, a time zone during which the video / audio information of the digital broadcast is not reproduced on the monitor or a monitor. A method has been proposed in which the update is performed automatically while the power is off. However, such a method has a possibility that the acquisition process of the attached information is activated at the time when the user wants to watch the normal broadcast service, and happens to occur at the time when the user wants to watch the normal broadcast service. If the acquisition time of the additional information overlaps with the acquisition time of the additional information, the update of the additional information must be stopped.
[0004]
Generally, in a television signal receiving apparatus for receiving digital broadcasting, that is, a digital broadcasting receiving apparatus, when power is turned on (ON), ancillary information on broadcasting such as an electronic program guide (EPG) and program information is displayed on a screen. Auxiliary information such as EIT included in SI transmitted as a television signal is fetched in a timely manner.
Here, it may take about 2 minutes at worst to completely acquire additional information such as EIT with a long transmission interval. For this reason, in the conventional digital broadcast receiving apparatus, even if the power switch of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus is set to ON, the electronic program guide (EPG) included in the attached information EIT can be immediately displayed on the screen. Did not. Therefore, even if the user sets the power switch to ON, the user cannot select a program to view until the auxiliary information such as EIT is completely acquired, which is not convenient.
[0005]
As a method for solving such a problem, for example, in a conventional digital broadcast receiver, even in a “non-viewing mode” in which a digital broadcast program is not supplied to a monitor, an operation of receiving ancillary information on broadcast such as EIT is performed. There is disclosed a technology in which power is supplied only to a digital broadcast receiving unit that manages the digital broadcast receiving unit, and auxiliary information related to broadcasting is taken into a memory of a receiver (for example, see Patent Document 1). Alternatively, in another example of the conventional digital broadcast receiving apparatus, when a power supply (including a main power supply) of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus is turned off, data relating to EPG display (that is, EIT data in SI) is set in advance. ), And a method of displaying the EPG on the screen in a short time after the power of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus is turned on is used (for example, see Patent Document 2). .

[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the case of terrestrial digital broadcasting, unlike the case of satellite (BS / CS) digital broadcasting, only the additional information of each received broadcast channel can be obtained from the additional information (EPG data and program information) related to broadcasting. Therefore, unless all the broadcast channels are searched, it is not possible to acquire the additional information (EPG data and program information) for all the broadcast channels and display them on the screen as the electronic program guide EPG. Therefore, in the case of a user who watches only a specific broadcast channel, there is a problem that program information other than the viewing channel cannot be obtained and updated. Here, the channel search means that a broadcast signal of a broadcast channel arbitrarily selected from a plurality of receivable broadcast channels already set in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus is converted into a transport stream TS (Transport Stream). This shows that after demodulation, additional information related to broadcasting such as EIT in the broadcast channel is extracted and acquired from the transport stream TS of the broadcast channel.
[0008]
Here, the time required for the channel search is mainly determined by the transmission cycle of the auxiliary information EIT from the broadcast station, the operation of selecting a broadcast channel in the receiving tuner, the descrambling of the broadcast signal of the broadcast channel, and the transport stream. It depends on various operation times such as an operation of separating and extracting the auxiliary information EIT from the TS (demultiplex operation). For example, the time required to acquire the auxiliary information such as the EIT for each broadcast channel is required. This takes about two minutes, and if the area where the digital broadcast receiving apparatus is located is an area where ten broadcast channels can be received, it takes a total of 20 minutes.
[0009]
In such a terrestrial digital broadcast, as shown in the above-described conventional technology, when a technology of acquiring and updating ancillary information on the broadcast using a power-off time is applied, the channel search of the channel search described above is performed. If the power is accidentally set on the way, the channel search is stopped halfway and the acquisition of the auxiliary information on the broadcast is stopped, or the power on setting is performed until the channel search ends. Actions such as invalidation are required. However, in the latter case, if the power-on setting is invalidated for as long as 20 minutes at the worst, and the user cannot set the power on, there is a great inconvenience in terms of usability. .
[0010]
Further, in terrestrial digital broadcasting, since there is a possibility that a radio stop period, i.e., a stop period, in which a broadcasting station stops transmitting a broadcast wave at midnight or the like, a channel search is started during the stop period. In some cases, it may not be possible to receive the broadcast radio wave of the broadcast channel, and it may not be possible to acquire additional information related to the broadcast of the broadcast channel.
[0011]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and a recommended time that is convenient for a user determined based on a predetermined criterion in consideration of a user's viewing situation is set as a start time of a channel search. A setting menu screen is displayed on the monitor screen that allows the user to specify a time other than the recommended time as a start time of the channel search. Recommended to the user by activating the channel search operation according to the activation time selected or specified by the user, or by the user determined based on the preset criterion. One of the times is automatically selected as the channel search start time, and the channel search At the start time, reliably acquire the accessory information on the broadcast of the arbitrarily designated broadcast channel, and update the accessory information of each broadcast channel stored in the digital broadcast receiving device with the latest information. By automatically updating to the state, an electronic program guide EPG reflecting the update result of the accessory information of each broadcast channel that can be received or registered in advance by the user is displayed on the screen, and for example, the power supply is turned on. When it is set to ON, the latest electronic program guide EPG is immediately displayed on the screen to enable an operation for selecting a program.
[0012]
In other words, the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention is suitable for a user determined based on a preset criterion as a start time of a channel search for acquiring accessory information (EPG data or program information). Good recommended time, that is, for example, a time period in which the user does not set a viewing / recording reservation, and / or a time period not corresponding to a radio suspension period (wave suspension period) in which transmission of broadcast radio waves is stopped. And / or a time zone in which it is assumed that the user is not watching the program based on the past viewing history, and / or a neighborhood in which the user is expected to start watching the program (just before ), The user can select an appropriate time from all or some of the times belonging to any of the time zones, or the user can designate an appropriate time, or The digital broadcast receiving device is automatically selected and determined, and by the channel search periodically started according to the determined start time, the attached information of the designated broadcast channel is reliably acquired, and It is intended to update information attached to a broadcast channel so that an electronic program guide EPG which can be immediately used for program selection can be displayed.

Next, a schematic operation of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention will be described using a flowchart shown in FIG. FIG. 16 is an operation flowchart illustrating an example of an outline of the operation of the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention.
In the flowchart shown in FIG. 16, first, a search start time, ie, a terrestrial EPG acquisition time, which is a time at which a channel search operation for acquiring ancillary information for each broadcast channel is started, is set to “ The setting is registered in the "search time" field (step S1).

The search start time setting operation is performed based on a predetermined criterion for obtaining a recommended time that is convenient for the user as a candidate for the search start time, as described later with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG. The search start is performed by sequentially displaying the “terrestrial EPG acquisition setting” menu screen (described in detail later) as shown in FIGS. 9 to 15 on the

When the search start time setting process in step S1 is completed, the user transitions to a normal viewing state in which the user normally selects and views any one of video, audio, and data broadcast programs (step S2). The update operation regarding the attached information (EPG data, program information) acquired after the transition to the normal viewing state in step S2 will be described later in detail with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.

Note that with the passage of several seconds required for the operation of turning on the main power supply in step S5, the start of the operation of acquiring the attached information is delayed by several seconds from the search start time set in step S1. On the other hand, the time required for acquiring the attached information by the channel search is several minutes or more, and the influence of the delay time of about several seconds due to the operation of turning on the main power hardly occurs.
[0062]
In the state where the main power is turned on, the channel search process as shown in the flowchart of FIG. 20 is started, and the attached information (EPG data and program information) is acquired and updated (step S6). That is, the process of acquiring and updating the attached information shown in step S6 includes acquiring the attached information of the designated broadcast channel and updating the attached information 26a on the

Next, the detailed operation of each schematic operation shown in the flowchart of FIG. 16 will be further described with reference to the flowcharts of FIGS.
First, a search start time setting operation for setting a channel search start time for starting a channel search operation for obtaining ancillary information (EPG data and program information), that is, a terrestrial EPG obtaining time will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 17 is a flowchart for explaining an example of the operation for setting and registering the channel search start time, and shows an example of the start control means 28b constituting step S1 in FIG. 16 described above. In FIG. 17, as described above, for example, the user selects the submenu “terrestrial EPG acquisition setting” from the guidance menu screen displayed on the

Next, based on the terrestrial EPG acquisition start menu screen shown in FIG. 9 displayed on the
[0069]
When the user selects “acquisition detailed setting” regarding the additional information, that is, the acquisition of the terrestrial EPG (YES in step S12), the user has several options according to the spare time that can be used for the channel search operation. It is possible to select a method for acquiring the attached information. That is, for example, a channel selection menu screen as shown in FIG. 14 is displayed on the screen, and the user can select a broadcast channel for acquiring the additional information, that is, the terrestrial EPG (step S21). Here, FIG. 14 is a display screen diagram showing an example of a channel selection menu screen for selecting a channel for acquiring additional information of digital terrestrial broadcasting.

On the other hand, on the channel selection menu screen shown in FIG. 14 displayed on the screen, the user can also make a setting to reduce the number of broadcast channels to be searched. In this case (NO in step S21), "update only specific channel" And displays a limited channel selection menu screen as shown in FIG. 15 (step S22). Here, FIG. 15 is a display screen diagram showing an example of a limited channel selection menu screen in a case where the acquisition channel of the terrestrial digital broadcast accessory information is limited to only a specific broadcast channel.

On the basis of the limited channel selection menu screen on which only the favorite channel information is displayed, the user does not select “all favorite channels” among the favorite channels. For example, if the channel search is performed only for "favorite 1") by operating the
[0076]
The operation of acquiring the additional information EIT from the transport stream TS of the selected broadcast channel is exactly the same as the case where “acquire all” in FIG. 14 is selected. When the user selects a broadcast channel based on the limited channel selection menu screen, the display returns to the channel selection menu screen shown in FIG. 14, and it is assumed that it is necessary to acquire and update the attached information of the selected broadcast channel. The associated information update time is also calculated and displayed on the screen. In the display example in FIG. 14, an example of calculation of “×” is shown in parentheses.

In step S20 or S22, when the broadcast channel from which the additional information is to be acquired is updated and selected by the user, the additional information update screen displayed on the channel selection menu screen automatically or as shown in FIG. When the user confirms the time and inputs an instruction by operating the
[0080]
In step S13, for the first selected broadcast channel, an attached information update menu screen as shown in FIG. 10 is displayed on the screen, and a start time for starting the current channel search is set and registered in order to acquire the attached information. An inquiry is made to the user as to whether or not this is the case (step S13). FIG. 10 is a display screen diagram showing an example of a start time update menu screen for inquiring whether to update the acquisition information of the terrestrial digital broadcast, that is, the acquisition time of the terrestrial EPG (that is, the channel search start time).
[0081]
If "No" is selected (NO in step S14), an instruction has been issued to the effect that the setting of the search start time for starting the channel search is not to be updated for this broadcast channel. Without performing the above processing, the flow shifts to step S19 to perform an operation of checking whether the next broadcast channel is still selected. On the other hand, when "Yes" is selected (YES in step S14), it is a case in which ancillary information, that is, an instruction to set and register the start time of the channel search to be updated, that is, to acquire the terrestrial EPG, has been given. Move to step S15.
[0082]
In step S15, first, a suspension period indicating a radio suspension period in which the transmission of broadcast radio waves of a broadcast channel for which the auxiliary information, that is, the terrestrial EPG is to be obtained and updated, is stopped is obtained (step S15). Next, the operation for acquiring the suspension period of the broadcast channel for acquiring and updating the accessory information, that is, the terrestrial EPG, will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG. FIG. 18 is a flowchart illustrating an example of an operation of acquiring a suspension period during which transmission of broadcast radio waves of a broadcast channel to acquire and update accessory information, that is, a terrestrial EPG, is stopped.
[0083]
In FIG. 18, first, EPG data relating to a broadcast period for 20 hours, for example, from 10:00 to 6:00 tomorrow after tomorrow is read from the
Next, it is checked in advance whether or not there is a next broadcast channel for which the suspension period should be acquired (step S32). If the next broadcast channel still exists (YES in step S32), the process proceeds to step S33 to acquire the suspension period for the next broadcast channel, but does not exist (step S32). NO), the operation of acquiring the wave suspension period ends.

[0086]
The calculated break period of the broadcast channel is set and recorded in the “break period” field of the channel
[0087]
When the operation according to the suspension period acquisition flowchart shown in FIG. 18 is completed and the suspension period acquisition process in step S15 of the flowchart in FIG. 17 ends, the process proceeds to step S16 which is the next step in the flowchart in FIG. A recommended time setting menu screen as shown in FIG. 11 is displayed on the screen (step S16). Here, FIG. 11 is a display screen diagram showing an example of a recommended time setting menu screen for presenting recommended information for acquiring terrestrial digital broadcast accessory information, that is, terrestrial EPG.
[0088]
The recommended time shown in FIG. 11 indicates a time that is convenient for the user determined according to a predetermined criterion, and the recommended time set in the
[0089]
Here, the predetermined criterion is that the recommended time is, for example, in the above-described example, not belonging to the time zone in which the user has reserved viewing / recording, and / or The station does not belong to the radio suspension period during which transmission of broadcast radio waves is suspended (wave suspension period) and / or does not belong to the viewing time period during which the user has watched the program in the past. , The channel search operation is set in advance so as to exclude conditions that are undesirable for the user.
[0090]
When selecting a recommended time, the user usually refers to the past viewing history in the
FIG. 11 shows an example in which two times, 8:00 and 24:00, are selected and displayed as recommended times. Further, a menu item “time designation” is prepared so that the user can independently designate the time at which the additional information, that is, the terrestrial EPG is acquired and updated.
[0091]
If the user has a favorite time from the presented recommended times (YES in step S17), the user operates the
[0092]
On the other hand, if the favorite time does not exist (NO in step S17), the user selects "time designation" on the recommended time setting menu screen and newly sets the time designated by the user himself as the search start time. Can be.
That is, although not shown, when the user selects “time designation”, a custom time designation menu screen provided with a “designated time” frame for inputting the time designated by the user as the search start time is displayed on the screen. (Step S23). Here, on the custom time designation menu screen, information on both the reservation time zone registered in the
[0093]
If the designated time input by the user based on the custom time designation menu screen overlaps with the reservation time zone registered in the
[0094]
Similarly, when the designated time input by the user overlaps the suspension period set in the channel search setting database 60 (YES in step S26), as shown in FIG. An additional information about the broadcast channel, that is, a stoppage duplication warning screen for warning that the terrestrial EPG cannot be obtained is displayed (step S27). Here, FIG. 13 is a diagram showing a wake-up signal that warns that the designated time set and input by the user as a search start time for acquiring and updating ancillary information of terrestrial digital broadcasting, that is, terrestrial EPG, overlaps the cessation period. 6 is a display screen example showing an example of a duplicate warning screen, which warns that a specified time of 2:00 specified by the user is included in a time period set as a suspension period in the channel
[0095]
Here, when the designated time is re-entered according to the suspension interruption warning screen, that is, when “No” is selected on the warning screen of FIG. 13 (YES in step S28), the process returns to step S23, and the designated time is re-entered. And On the other hand, when the user does not consider the warning content presented on the duplication warning screen as a problem, that is, when “Yes” is selected on the warning screen of FIG. 13 (NO in step S28), the user inputs the setting. Similarly to the case where the specified time does not overlap with either the reserved time zone or the suspension period (NO in step S24 and NO in step S26), the process proceeds to step S18, and the specified time or According to the time selected by the user, the “search time” field of the channel
[0096]
As described above, the channel search start time for each designated broadcast channel is set in the “search time” field of the channel
[0097]
Here, after the search start time setting operation in step S1 of the flowchart of FIG. 16 is completed, as shown in step S2, the user is registered in the “search time” field of the channel
[0098]
After shifting to a state in which the user is watching a normal program (normal viewing) (step S41), the normal viewing state is a period during which all the auxiliary information EIT can be acquired from the transport stream TS (see FIG. 19). For more than X minutes), it is determined whether or not the broadcast channel is continued for the same broadcast channel without being switched (step S42). As a matter of course, even if the broadcast service being viewed is changed by the user's channel selection operation, as long as the broadcast service is currently in the same transport stream TS as the broadcast service that has been viewed, viewing and listening on the same broadcast channel is not performed. It is regarded as being watched continuously.
[0099]
Here, if it is determined that the same broadcast channel has been watched for more than X minutes (YES in step S42), all the accessory information EIT of the broadcast channel should have been updated. Therefore, it is checked whether all the additional information EIT has been acquired and the update of the auxiliary information 26a on the
[0100]
The auxiliary information EIT of the broadcast channel is acquired via the
[0101]
Next, in step S45, the “search time” indicating the channel search start time registered in the channel
[0102]
Note that the period of “6 hours” used in step S45 is already updated with the attached information EIT acquired in the normal viewing state at a time very close to the “search time” for acquiring the attached information EIT. In a state in which the channel search operation is started, the start of the channel search operation is suppressed (for example, if the user is in the viewing state, the viewing is interrupted and the state of starting the channel search operation is suppressed). This is an example of a predetermined close time width, and the user can flexibly change the close time width by setting the close time width to an arbitrary value.
[0103]
As shown in FIG. 19, every time the broadcast channel being viewed by the user is switched, the operations of steps S41 to S46 are repeated to update the “update date and time” of the channel
[0104]
Next, a channel search process for acquiring and updating accessory information for each broadcast channel to be acquired / updated will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. 20, but the channel search process in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention will be described. Is not limited to the channel search processing procedure shown in FIG. 20, but it is also possible to use various channel search processing for increasing the speed of acquiring the accessory information EIT. FIG. 20 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a channel search process for acquiring and updating accessory information of terrestrial digital broadcasting, that is, terrestrial EPG. 28 shows an example of 28a. As shown in the flowchart of FIG. 16, the channel search process of FIG. 20 is performed by the
[0105]
In FIG. 20, first, a broadcast channel for which channel search processing is to be started is extracted from the "search setting" field of the channel
[0106]
Next, it is determined in advance whether or not there are still broadcast channels to be searched for which channel search processing has not been performed (step S53), and the channel search processing for all broadcast channels to be channel searched has been completed. In this case (NO in step S53), the channel search process is terminated. However, if there is a broadcast channel for which the channel search process has not been performed (YES in step S53), the broadcast channel is designated and Move to step S54.
[0107]
First, for the designated broadcast channel, the information necessary for tuning setting read out in step S52 (that is, frequency band and tuning parameters such as guard interval and transfer mode, etc.) is used as shown in FIG. The tuning processing of the

[0111]
As described above, by performing the channel search processing shown in steps S51 to S58, each time the search start time set and registered in the “search time” field of the channel
[0112]
Next, by using the channel search start time reset processing flowchart shown in FIG. 21, the search time set and registered in the channel
[0113]
That is, in the channel search start time resetting process of FIG. 21, the channel search start time determined by the procedure shown in the flowchart of FIG. 17 is changed by a change in program scheduling, a change in the user's life time zone, and the like. This is used to automatically provide the user with an opportunity to review again whether or not the time is appropriate as the channel search start time.
[0114]
First, it is confirmed whether or not the user has activated the channel search activation time reset processing based on the guidance menu screen displayed on the monitor 40 (step S61). If the user has not activated the channel search activation time resetting process on the guidance menu screen (NO in step S61), the process ends immediately. If the user has activated the channel search activation time resetting process (YES in step S61), the process proceeds to step S62, and the user sets the re-evaluation time setting menu screen displayed on the screen subsequent to the guide menu screen. The re-evaluation time indicating the time to review the "search time" set and registered in the channel
[0115]
The user can set so as to review the channel search start time, for example, every three months, in accordance with the programming season, such as changing the broadcast time zone of the broadcast drama.
Next, when it is detected by the
[0116]
On the other hand, when a change in the viewing tendency (viewing history) of the user occurs along with a change in the living environment of the user, the change in the viewing tendency (viewing history) is automatically detected, and the channel search start time is set. It is also possible to give an opportunity to reset. That is, when resetting the channel search start time based on a change in the user's viewing tendency (viewing history), it is detected by the
[0117]
That is, FIG. 8 shows an example in which the opportunity to reset the channel search start time is automatically provided by automatically analyzing the viewing tendency based on the viewing history of the user in the past. As shown, for example, the viewing history recorded in the
[0118]
FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram showing a situation where a weekly viewing period (that is, an average viewing time zone) is calculated by calculating an average of the viewing history of each broadcast channel, that is, the history of the viewing period on a weekly basis. The weekly viewing period (ie, average viewing time zone) of the fifth week (last week) of the month and the weekly viewing period (ie, average viewing time zone) of the first week of July 2002 are shown. In the example shown in FIG. 8, the weekly viewing period of broadcast channels B and C in the first week of July 2002 (that is, the average viewing time zone) is significantly different from the previous week of the fifth week of June 2002. Although there is no broadcast channel A, the weekly viewing period (that is, the average viewing time zone) changes significantly from midnight (22:00 to 24:00) to early morning (6:00 to 9:00). Such a large change in the weekly viewing period (that is, the average viewing time zone) causes a situation in which the channel search activation time set and registered in the channel
[0119]
As described above, when the threshold for judging every week is used as the timing for starting step S64, that is, the time starting timing for resetting the channel starting time, the average value of the viewing period in week units is used. That is, since the change in the history of the weekly viewing period (average viewing time zone) is confirmed, the startup may be performed every week, but of course, a different startup timing may be set. Next, when the process of resetting the channel search start time is performed in step S67, the "search time" of the channel
[0120]
As described above, by the processes in steps S61 to S67, the channel search start time is reevaluated and reset, and the additional information of the broadcast channel at the reset channel search start time, that is, the terrestrial EPG is reliably acquired, and the
[0121]
Note that, in the “search time” field of the channel
[0122]
However, the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention is not limited to the case where channel search is sequentially activated only once at the same time for all broadcast channels. The channel search may be started one time at a time, or may be set and registered so as to start the channel search operation not only once, but arbitrarily plural times, for example, plural times during one day. However, the channel search operation may be started at different times, or the setting may be made so that the channel search operation is started at a different time for each of the divided broadcast channels.
[0123]
Further, in the present embodiment, the terrestrial digital broadcast received via the
[0124]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the digital broadcast receiving apparatus according to the present invention has the following effects.
In other words, it is convenient for the user that the start time for starting the channel search operation for automatically acquiring the additional information (EPG data and program information) related to the broadcast of each designated broadcast channel is determined according to a preset criterion. It is possible for the user to set and register in advance based on the recommended time, and to automatically acquire the additional information on each broadcast channel at such a start time, so that the additional information (EPG) already recorded in the digital broadcast receiving apparatus can be obtained. Data and program information) can be updated and held at the time desired by the user.
[0125]
In addition, it is possible to activate the channel search during a time period when the user is not watching a normal broadcast program, so that the process of updating the attached information, which requires a relatively long time, can be performed with almost no user awareness. It is possible to automatically control the ON / OFF operation of the power supply for supplying power to the circuit section for acquiring the accessory information by the channel search. The search operation can be automatically started, so that the user does not need to perform any operation, and the convenience is greatly improved.
[0126]
Further, for example, regarding the additional information (EPG data and program information) of the broadcast channel that is updated to the latest information in the normal viewing state, a channel for acquiring the additional information related to the broadcast channel at a close time is used. Even if the start time of the search is set and registered in advance, it is possible to suppress the start of the channel search in which the operation of updating the accessory information is performed unnecessarily based on substantially the same accessory information. The additional information can be updated only for the minimum necessary number of broadcast channels without wasting time associated with the above, and the channel search time required in digital broadcasting can be reduced.
