Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0034】
カメラ部21は撮像レンズとCCD(Charge Coupled Device)イメージセンサあるいはCMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)イメージセンサなどの撮像素子とRGBの3色のカラーフィルタとを備える。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic device having a 2D (two-dimensional) and 3D (three-dimensional) display function.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, mobile devices such as mobile terminals, mobile personal computers, and mobile phones, information devices such as desktop personal computers, and various electronic devices including audio / video devices have become increasingly sophisticated.
[0003]
As a conventional mobile phone, a 3D display-equipped mobile phone having a 3D display function has been proposed which can switch between 2D (two-dimensional) / 3D display and display. The lenticular lens disposed above the liquid crystal display is movable and the display areas of the 2D display unit and the 3D display unit can be changed. (For example, refer to
Usually, a screen called a standby screen is set as a default screen when the mobile phone is not used as a telephone. The standby screen can be arbitrarily set by the user by selecting a pre-registered image, an image shot by a camera, or an image downloaded by a browser such as a website or e-mail. The standby screen can be switched from the standby screen to a required operation screen or a required setting screen by performing a key operation or the like. In a mobile phone with a 3D display provided with the above 3D display function, it is proposed to adopt a 3D display screen as a standby screen.
[0004]
An example of the configuration of a 3D display that can be switched between 2D display will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0005]
FIG. 6 shows the layout of the pixels of a standard type of liquid crystal device (LCD). LCDs are used for color displays and consist of red, green, and blue pixels denoted by R, G, and B. The pixels are arranged as columns Col0 to Col5 in which red, green and blue pixels are vertically arranged. The leftmost column Col0 of pixels will then display the leftmost strip of the displayed image, the rightmost column Col1 will display the next column of the image, and so on.
[0006]
The display of FIG. 7 is used for performing 3D stereoscopic display. The 3D display includes a liquid crystal display device (including a polarizing plate) 101 that acts as a spatial light modulator for adjusting light from a
[0007]
In order to ensure that the left and right viewing windows are in the correct arrangement, the left and right image data are provided in a manner shown in FIG. 8 to a liquid
[0008]
Thus, in the layout shown in FIG. 8, compared to the layout shown in FIG. 6, the red and blue pixels in the leftmost column display image data in the left view while the green in the leftmost column. The pixels display the image data of the right view. In the next column, the red and blue pixels display the image data of the right view, while the green pixels display the image data of the left view. Thus, when using a standard liquid crystal display device of the type shown in FIGS. 6 to 8, the image data of the left and right views is "swapped" between the columns of RGB pixels. Need to be interlaced. Of course, depending on the display settings, a red or blue component may be exchanged in addition to the green component.

The parallax optics may be selectable for its formation. FIG. 11 shows a display device configured to selectively display a 2D image and a 3D image by selectively forming a parallax optical system. Here, the parallax optical system uses, for example, a liquid crystal device (LCD) 150 for 2D / 3D switching and a

[0018]
The display of the 2D image is substantially the same as that of the left and right images displayed on a 3D autostereoscopic display having a fixedly formed parallax optical system as shown in FIG. It can be displayed in a 2D image. However, in this case, the parallax optical system is still formed on the display itself, and the user is affected by the parallax optical system when viewing the display even when displaying in a 2D image.
[0019]
On the other hand, if the formation of the parallax optical system is selectively performed as shown in FIG. 11, there is an advantage that the display of the 2D image can be performed without the influence of the parallax. In other words, in the case of the arrangement as shown in FIG. 11, when a display of a 2D image is selected, a parallax optical system is not formed at all or a part of the displayed area, and a commonly used liquid crystal display device is used. The device structure is substantially the same as that described above, and can be easily recognized from any position without being affected by the parallax between the right and left.
