【従来の技術】従来、例えば、自動車等の防水機能が必要な電子機器(例えば、電源装置)において、電線を電子機器の筐体内に取り込む場合、電線と電線の間にそれぞれ既存のコネクタを取り付け、そのコネクタにパッキンゴムを取り付けて筐体に固定し防水機能を有するようにしていた(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記のような従来のものは、次のような課題があった。近年電子機器の形状も小型化とコストダウンが要求されるようになり、既存のコネクタでは、雄型、雌型のコネクタ及びそれに付随するパッキンゴムや端子などが必要となる。また、アッセンブリ作業もワイヤに端子付けとコネクタへの取り付けを雄型、雌型にしなければならない。特に、専用コネクタを作成の場合は、金型の制作時間が長く費用も多くかかるものであった。このため、小型化と部品点数削減でのコストダウン及び納期短縮には、限度があった。

本発明は、このような従来の課題を解決し、金型を安価で短納期で制作することができ、部品点数の削減、組立性の向上、コストダウンを図ることを目的とする。

【発明の実施の形態】本発明は、鉄又はアルミ等の金型を安価で短納期で制作し、その金型に取り付け板と複数の電線を取り付け、ホットメルト樹脂を低圧で注入し一体のコネクタ(防水コネクタユニット)を制作するものである。この一体のコネクタを電子機器の筐体にネジ止め、又は、ロック機構(例えば、突起と凹部の嵌合)を設けて固定する。そして、この一体のコネクタのホットメルト樹脂が筐体に接する部分に突起部又は突出部を持たせることにより防水機能を持たせるものである。

(1):防水機能を有する壁体防水構造及び電子機器の説明
図1は本発明の実施の形態における防水コネクタを使用した電子機器の説明図である。図1において、電子機器の筐体1は、蓋2を複数のネジ14で取り付けることにより密閉されている。電線6と取り付け板7とをホットメルト樹脂で一体とされた防水コネクタユニットは、ネジ13により筐体1の一面である壁体に固定されている。ここで筐体1は金属製あるいは樹脂性、電線6は導体に塩化ビニル等の皮膜がなされている線体を使用している。

図2は実施の形態における防水コネクタを使用した電子機器の分解説明図である。図2において、この電子機器は、筐体1を有し、この筐体1内に電子回路部を構成するプリント基板4及び種々の部品、機構部を内蔵して構成されている(ここではプリント基板4を筐体1に複数のネジ15で固定している)。

(2):ホットメルトユニットの製造方法の説明
図3は実施の形態におけるホットメルトユニットの製造方法の説明図である。図3(a)において、端子5が付いた電線6を取り付け板7に挿入後に金型下8の凹部に取り付ける。図3(b)は、端子5が付いた電線6を取り付け板7に挿入後に金型下8の凹部に取り付けた状態を示している。その後、図3(c)に示すように、金型上9で型締めし、ホットメルト樹脂注入口Aよりホットメルト樹脂を低圧(通常のプラスチック成形より低圧)力にて注入する。注入冷却後に金型上9を外しホットメルトユニット12を取り出す。

(3):ホットメルトユニットの説明

図4は突起を持たせたホットメルトユニットの説明図である。図4において、ホットメルトユニット12の構成の斜視図であり、複数の電線6と取り付け板7とがホットメルト樹脂11で一体とされている。そして、ホットメルト樹脂11には、防水Oリングの代わりとなる突起部Bが構成されている。なお、取り付け板7には、両端に取付穴71が設けられている。また、ホットメルト樹脂11は、加熱すると溶け冷えて固まっても接着性(防水性)を持つ樹脂材料で、弾力性を有するものである。

図5はホットメルトユニットを電子機器に固定した場合の説明図である。図5において、ホットメルトユニット12を電子機器の筐体1に固定した場合の防水部分の断面を示している。取り付け板7のホットメルト樹脂が入り込む開口において、取り付け板7の筐体側の開口部7aは広い開口となっており、逆側の開口部7bはそれよりも狭い開口となっている。そして、それぞれの開口部7a、7b間の開口部7cは更に狭い開口となり、ホットメルト樹脂11と取り付け板7が一体とされた後においても、容易に両者が分離しない構造となっている。このような構造の取り付け板であっても、ホットメルト樹脂は、低融点であるため、容易に取り付け板とホットメルト樹脂とを一体化できる。このホットメルトユニット12は、取り付け板7の取付穴71にネジ13を挿入して筐体1に固定し、突起部Bを筐体1に接触させることにより、防水機能を付加している。そして、ネジ等の圧着固定具13により取り付け板7を筐体1の一面である壁体に固定する。この際、取り付け板7とホットメルト樹脂11は一体となっており、かつ、突起部Bが取り付け板7よりも突出しているので突起部Bと壁体間に強い圧力が生じる。よって、筐体1は強い防水効果が得られる。

取付手段である圧着固定具で取り付け板を壁体や筐体に取り付け、ホットメルト樹脂で取り付け板と線体を一体に形成すると共に穴の防水を行うため、防水コネクタの金型を安価で短納期で制作することができ、部品点数の削減、組立性の向上、コストダウンを図ることができ、簡単な構成で確実に防水機能を持たせることができる。
