Abstract
Description
【0001】
【0018】
X=(Ia −Ib)/(Ia0−Ib0)*100[%]・・式(1)
【0019】
【0020】
Cs=100−X [%/m]・・・式(2)
【0021】
【0023】
X=(I/I0)*100 [%]・・・式(3)
【0024】
【0039】
H=tan−1{(G’−B’)/(2R’−G’−B’)} ・・・式(11)
【0040】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a smoke detection device using image processing, and more particularly to detecting smoke in a fire.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a device for detecting smoke, a photoelectric separation type sensor is known. This sensor consists of a light emitter (emitter) and a light receiver arranged at a distance from each other in the monitoring area. If smoke during a fire occurs between the two, the light incident on the light receiver will decrease. To detect the generation of smoke.
[0003]
Further, those using a surveillance camera instead of the light receiver are disclosed in JP-A-5-20563, JP-A-8-1224064, JP-A-10-269471, and the like. In this case, the image processing device is connected to the monitoring camera, and the luminance value and the like of the light emitting device area in the captured image are calculated. When smoke is generated, the luminance value is reduced. Therefore, the generation of smoke is detected by comparing the calculated luminance value with a predetermined value.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a conventional smoke detector using a light receiver or a monitoring camera, only the dimming due to the generation of smoke is detected, and there is no apparatus that calculates the density and hue of smoke.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A smoke detection device according to the present invention is a smoke detection device that calculates the density of smoke generated in a monitoring area from a video signal of a monitoring camera, and calculates a hue of the smoke to determine whether a fire has occurred. It is characterized by the following.
[0006]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram showing a first embodiment of the present invention. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a surveillance camera as an imaging means, which uses, for example, a CCD camera or the like, and photographs a surveillance area at a predetermined sampling cycle. The monitoring camera 1 is a color camera that outputs a color image signal composed of RGB color component signals.

Here, the

Reference numeral 3 denotes an image processing device connected to the monitoring camera 1, and an internal configuration of the image processing device 3 will be described below.
[0010]
Reference numeral 7 denotes storage means such as an EEPROM, 8 denotes an arithmetic processing unit including a microcomputer, and 9 denotes a memory for arithmetic processing. The storage unit 7 stores the luminance value of the video signal of the monitoring camera 1 in the normal state as an initial value [R 0 , G 0 , B 0 ]. The initial value indicates a video signal obtained by imaging the
[0011]
The arithmetic processing unit 8 performs the following arithmetic processing. First, at the time of monitoring (including when smoke is generated), the luminance value [R, G, B] of the video signal of the monitoring camera 1 is divided by the above-mentioned initial value [R 0 , G 0 , B 0 ]. Then, the smoke density is calculated from the divided values [R / R 0 , G / G 0 , B / B 0 ]. The arithmetic processing unit 8 normalizes (normalizes) the luminance value of the video signal by dividing the luminance value by the initial value, or calculates the hue H of smoke from the luminance value of the video signal.

[0013]
Next, a method of calculating the smoke density using the luminance value of the monitoring camera 1 will be described. In calculating the smoke density, the accuracy is improved by obtaining an average luminance value obtained by averaging the luminance values of a plurality of pixels. In addition, by using the

[0016]
Here, first, the arithmetic processing unit 8 provided in the image processing apparatus 3 calculates an average luminance value of the area a and the area b in a normal state where there is no smoke as an initial value. The average luminance value in the area a is a value obtained by summing the luminance values Ia of n pixels in the area a and dividing the sum by n. This value is referred to as Ia0. Similarly, the average luminance value in the region b is a value obtained by summing the luminance values Ib of the n pixels in the region b and dividing the sum by n. This value is defined as Ib0.
[0017]
Further, the average luminance value of the area a during the monitoring when the smoke exists in the space is defined as Ia, and the average luminance value of the area b when the smoke exists in the space is defined as Ib. The method of calculating the average luminance value is the same as when there is no smoke. Here, the light transmittance X is represented by the following equation (1).
[0018]
X = (Ia−Ib) / (Ia0−Ib0) * 100 [%] Formula (1)
[0019]
By substituting the light transmittance X calculated from the average luminance value into the following equation (2), the smoke density Cs can be obtained.
[0020]
Cs = 100−X [% / m] (2)
[0021]
As described above, the expression (1) calculates the light transmittance X in consideration of the average luminance value of the non-light emitting area B.
[0022]
However, if for calculating the most easily transmittance X, since the luminance value I, the monitoring is should I divided by the luminance value I 0 of the initial value, can be calculated by the following equation (3) It is.

According to the graph results of FIG. 3, it can be seen that the straight line connecting the six measurement points is substantially on the straight line of Y = X (accurately, the slope of the straight line is 1.0067). That is, it was found that the smoke density calculated by the equation (3) takes almost the same value as the smoke density obtained by the extinction meter. This means that the calculation result of the smoke density by the equation (1) takes the same value as the density obtained by the extremely accurate analytical instrument called the extinction meter, and the accuracy of the equation (1) is high. I can see
[0028]
Subsequently, an operation example in the image processing device 3 of FIG. 1 will be described. Here, in the calculation of the smoke density, the calculation formula and the like will be described in the case of calculating based on the luminance value of one pixel, but as described in the formulas (1) and (2), the camera In the calculation of the smoke density using the luminance value of 1, the average luminance value obtained by averaging a plurality of pixels may be used, or the luminance of the pixel in the non-light-emitting area using the
[0029]
First, the brightness value of the surveillance camera 1 in a normal state without smoke is stored in the storage means 7 as an initial value [R 0 , G 0 , B 0 ]. Then, at the time of monitoring, when the monitoring camera 1 captures an image of the
[0030]

1-G / G 0 (5)
1-B / B 0 (6)
[0031]
That is, the arithmetic processing unit 8 divides the luminance value [R, G, B] of the monitoring camera 1 at the time of monitoring by the initial luminance value [R 0 , G 0 , B 0 ] at the time of normal to obtain the dimming rate. Then, the smoke density is calculated by subtracting the divided value [R / R 0 , G / G 0 , B / B 0 ] from 1. Here, [1-R / R0 ] indicates the smoke density of the pixel of the R component at a certain time. The smoke density at a certain time is obtained by calculating the average value from the smoke density of each RGB by the following equation (7).
[0032]
Smoke density = {(1-R / R 0) + (1-G / G 0) + (1-B / B 0)} / 3 ··· Equation (7)
[0033]
The value obtained by this equation (7) takes a value from 0 to 1, and a value obtained by multiplying by 100 is represented by smoke density [%]. When this value exceeds a predetermined value of 0.1 (10%), for example, it may be defined that a fire has occurred. In this case, a fire alarm is issued from an alarm generation unit (not shown).
[0034]
In addition, although the luminance values of the RGB components are averaged to obtain the smoke density, the smoke density may be calculated using only the luminance value of each color. In particular, when the smoke density of the current smoke detector and the smoke density calculated by the surveillance camera 1 are accurately matched when the filter paper is smoked, a blue transmission filter is provided on the front surface of the
[0035]
The arithmetic processing unit 8 calculates the hue H of the smoke in addition to the calculation of the smoke density. First, prior to the calculation of the hue of smoke, normalization (normalization) of each luminance value is performed. That is, the value [R / R 0 , G / G 0 , B / B 0 ] obtained by dividing each luminance value by the initial value is multiplied by 255 (see Expressions (8) to (10)).
[0036]
R ′ = R / R 0 * 255 Equation (8)
G ′ = G / G 0 * 255 Equation (9)
B ′ = B / B 0 * 255 (10)
[0037]
The reason for multiplying by 255 is that the analog-to-

The hue H [θ] obtained by this equation (11) is represented by an angle on the hue circle, with red being 0 °, 90 ° clockwise near yellow, 180 ° near blue-green, blue-violet (and purple). ) The neighborhood is represented by 270 °. By calculating the hue H from the luminance value, the type of smoke can be classified based on the value of the hue H. Here, in Equations (8) to (10), the reason why the corrected RGB values are calculated is that the hue H is calculated more clearly than the luminance value RGB during monitoring. In other words, displaying the image of smoke with the corrected R'G'B 'values displays the hue H of the smoke more clearly than displaying the image on the

Next, experimental results will be described. The following experiment was performed using the smoke detector shown in FIG. Five fuels, filter paper, smoke pieces, kerosene, cotton wick, and incense were prepared as fuels for the fire source, and these fuels were burned to generate smoke between the monitoring camera 1 and the
[Table 1]
[0042]
As shown in Table 1, the smoke detection device of the present embodiment was able to measure the smoke density and the transmitted color of the smoke from the video signal of the monitoring camera 1. Table 1 shows the measured values of the current smoke detector at the smoke density (10% / m). The smoke density calculated by the equation (7) is 13 [% / m] to 16 [% / m], respectively. A value falling within the range of [% / m] was obtained.
[0043]
Further, when the hue H was calculated for the transmitted color of smoke, it was found that the hue was divided into two types, blue and red. The smoked filter paper was almost blue (H = 187 °), and the smoked pieces and kerosene soot were blue (green) (H = 180 °). The hue of the cotton wick was H = 5 °, and the hue of the incense was H = 45 °, and the color became reddish. On the other hand, the hue H of the fine particles of ethylene glycol obtained by the smoke machine was H = 270 °, and the particles became purple. As described above, it is found that the hue of the transmitted color of the smoke of the cotton wick, the smoked filter paper, the kerosene soot, and the smoke pieces determined to be a fire takes a value near 0 ° or near 180 °, and the hue H becomes When this value is taken, it can be determined that the possibility of fire is high.
[0044]
From the above, if the smoke detection device according to the present embodiment is used as a fire determination device that calculates the hue of smoke to determine whether or not there is a fire, the smoke density becomes a predetermined value (10% / m). And the hue H of the transmitted color of the smoke is close to 0 ° or 180 °, it may be determined that the possibility of fire is high. Further, by determining the hue of the smoke, the combustion properties may be classified according to the hue of the smoke, and the control of fire extinguishing equipment and the response such as an alarm may be changed according to the hue of the smoke.
[0045]
【The invention's effect】
The present invention is configured as described above, can calculate the hue of smoke from the luminance value of the video signal of the surveillance camera, can determine the type of smoke from the value of the hue of the smoke, more accurate fire determination It becomes possible.
Further, by using a light source that emits light having a wavelength of 450 to 650 nm as the light emitter, the smoke density can be accurately calculated from the video signal of the monitoring camera without providing a plurality of light sources and an intermittent lighting circuit.
