Description

【0001】
【0010】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mold wash for a vacuum suction casting mold. When performing vacuum suction casting using a mold, in order to obtain a cast product having excellent surface roughness, a mold-forming agent is applied to a required surface of an upper mold and a lower mold that constitute the mold, especially a core. . The present invention relates to the improvement of such a mold wash.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a mold wash agent for a vacuum suction casting mold, one containing an aggregate, a binder and a solvent, and optionally containing other components such as a surfactant, a pigment or a dye is used. Have been. In this case, as the aggregate, zircon, alumina, chromite, or the like, fine-grained refractories or mixtures thereof are used, and as the binder, an inorganic binder, for example, a clay mineral such as bentonite or kaolin, or water glass is used. And inorganic binders and organic binders such as dextrin-based natural organic polymer substances and phenol-based and urethane-based synthetic organic polymer substances. However, the conventional refining agent using the refractory as described above as an aggregate, and the inorganic binder or the inorganic binder and the organic binder as the binder, has an irregular shape having a plurality of sharp ends. It is presumed that the inorganic binder was inserted between the fine refractories and crushed, but there was a problem that the air permeability of the mold coated with this was low. When casting under reduced pressure using a mold having low air permeability, the resulting cast product has gas defects and the like on its surface, making it difficult to obtain a healthy product skin.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to provide a mold wash capable of producing a mold for vacuum suction casting having high air permeability.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention that solves the above-mentioned problems is characterized in that, in a mold wash for a vacuum suction casting mold containing an aggregate, a binder and a solvent, only spherical sand is used as an aggregate and only an organic binder is used as a binder. The present invention relates to a mold wash for a vacuum suction casting mold characterized by the following.
[0005]
The mold wash of the mold for vacuum suction casting according to the present invention also contains an aggregate, a binder and a solvent, and may contain other components as necessary. The mold wash of the vacuum suction casting mold according to the present invention uses only spherical sand as an aggregate, and uses only an organic binder as a binder, and uses the above-mentioned irregular shaped refractory as an aggregate. And that no inorganic binder is used as the binder.
[0006]
The spherical sand used as the aggregate in the mold wash for the vacuum suction casting mold according to the present invention has a rounder shape than the refractory used as the aggregate in the conventional mold wash for the vacuum suction mold. . As such spherical sands, various types having an aspect ratio (ratio of major axis / minor axis) of 1.1 or less produced by a sintering method, a melting method, or the like are known, and artificial alumina silicate sand is preferable. For example, Cera Beads (trade name sold by ITOCHU Ceramics Co., Ltd.) can be mentioned. Among them, spherical sand in which 90% by weight or more of all particles are in the range of 150 to 300 mesh is preferable, and a commercially available product is, for example, Cerabeads # 1700.
[0007]
The organic binder used as a binder in the mold wash of the vacuum suction casting mold according to the present invention, the solvent, and other components used as needed, themselves, are used as the mold wash of the conventional vacuum suction mold. It is possible to use the same one that was used. Examples of the organic binder include natural organic polymer substances such as dextrins and synthetic organic polymer substances such as phenols and urethanes, and solvents such as water and alcohols such as lower alcohols such as methanol and ethanol, and mixtures thereof. However, other components include a surfactant, a pigment and a dye.
[0008]
The mold wash of the mold for vacuum suction casting according to the present invention is usually prepared as containing 20 to 60% by weight of the above-described spherical sand and 0.1 to 5% by weight of the organic binder. As a method for applying such a coating agent to the surface of the upper mold, the lower mold, and the core required for the vacuum suction casting mold, a dipping method, a spray method, a brush coating method, or the like, a method known per se. Applicable.
[0009]

[0011]
【Example】
Using an artificial alumina silicate sand (trade name: Cerabeads # 650, sold by ITOCHU Ceramics Co., Ltd., having a coarser particle size than Cerabeads # 1700) as an aggregate, upper molds, lower molds and cores were produced according to a conventional method. The cast product formed by sucking the molten metal into the cavity formed by the upper mold, the lower mold, and the core under reduced pressure is an elbow-shaped member having a spiral groove on the inner peripheral surface. The mold wash of each of the following examples was applied to the surface of the core having a spiral groove formed on the outer peripheral surface by an immersion method (the number of immersions was once), and the air permeability was measured. In addition, the surface roughness of the elbow-shaped member cast under reduced pressure using the core, the upper die and the lower die, particularly the inner peripheral surface where the spiral groove was formed, was evaluated. In each case, measurement and evaluation were performed for each of five points, and the results (average for the air permeability) are shown in Table 1.

[Table 1]
Figure 2004098134
[0019]
In the vacuum suction casting, it is desirable that the air permeability of the mold used is 150 or more in order to obtain a cast product having no surface defects such as gas defects and excellent surface roughness. In the examples using only spherical sand as the aggregate and only the organic binder as the binder, a cast product having excellent surface roughness with no air defect and a gas permeability of 150 or more was applied to the core coated with these. Is obtained. On the other hand, even in the case of using an amorphous refractory as an aggregate, or using spherical sand as an aggregate, all of the comparative examples using an inorganic binder as a binder also include a core coated with these. Since the air permeability is less than 100, generation of gas defects and the like cannot be avoided.
[0020]
【The invention's effect】
As already clear, the present invention described above has an effect that a mold for vacuum suction casting having high air permeability can be produced.
