特開2001−32491には、手摺の棒材の壁面への取り付けや、棒材同士の継ぎ合わせに使用するエルボ型の手摺用接続具が記載されている。これを具体化した一例として、図9に示すようなものが考えられる。

この接続具は、屈曲した割管状本体50の両端部に、手摺の棒材及び壁面にそれぞれビス等で固定される座51,52を設け、本体50の周壁の外側部分を両端の座51,52間で開口させ、この開口に本体50の周壁に連続するカバー53を着脱自在に被せたものである。

前記カバー53の一端部には差込片54が延設され、他端部には内面から突出した凸部55の先端部に係合突起56が形成されている。また、本体50の一方の座51には差込穴57が、他方の座52には、一対の台部58に支持されて浮き上がった状態で弾性棒59が設けられている。
