Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bedsore (decubitus) pocket measure with which anyone can measure and record a decubitus pocket range. <P>SOLUTION: This decubitus pocket measure comprises a probe (sound) and a measure to measure a size both of which are integrated at the roots in a shape of a pair of tweezers. In pressure ulcers (bed sores), pockets are often formed under the skin in a cave shape.
The present invention relates to a device for simply and accurately measuring and recording the shape of a pocket for a pressure ulcer.

Successful treatment of pressure ulcers shrinks the pockets, and conversely, worsens the condition and enlarges the pockets, so measuring the size of the pockets is essential for daily practice.
Conventionally, when trying to measure the size of a pocket, a ruler or the like was inserted, but only inaccurate recording was possible. In addition, the inside of the pocket was filthy due to contamination with bacteria, and there was a risk of hospital infection.
