Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mixing system control method, a mixing system control device, and a program suitable for use in a large-scale mixing system.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, digital mixing systems have become widespread, particularly for professional audio equipment. In this system, all audio signals collected from a microphone or the like are converted into digital signals, and a mixing process is performed in an engine constituted by a DSP array or the like. In a large digital mixing system, a mixing console operated by an operator and the engine are often separated.
[0003]
For example, the mixing console is mounted in the center of the seat or in a mixing room separated from the seat, and the engine is mounted behind the stage. The mixing console is provided with a plurality of controls such as faders, all of which can be automatically driven by the CPU. For example, when a stage change is performed, the operation position of a fader or the like can be automatically set to a predetermined position according to the stage situation at that time. Such an operation is called “scene recall”.
[0004]
When the operation amount of the fader or the like is changed by scene recall or manual operation by an operator, the information is notified to the engine from the mixing console, and the algorithm or the calculation parameter in the engine is determined. Further, since the processing capacity required for the digital mixing system varies depending on the scale of a concert or the like, it is convenient if the processing capacity can be improved by combining a plurality of consoles and a plurality of engines. For this reason, a technique for cascading a plurality of mixing systems to improve the processing capacity is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-261391.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the present applicant has proposed a dual console system in which operability is improved by connecting two consoles to one engine (Japanese Patent Application No. 2001-285981).
According to the contents of this application, when an operation event occurs in one of the two consoles, the content is transmitted to the other console. As a result, operation events are mutually exchanged, and common operation data (operation state) is shared between the two consoles. However, when an operation event that generates a large amount of transmission data at once, such as a scene recall, occurs, the operation timing between the two consoles is shifted due to transmission delay of the data. On the other hand, if a sufficiently high-speed communication path is secured between the two consoles, the shift of the operation timing is reduced, but there is a problem that the cost is increased.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to provide a mixing system control method, a mixing system control device, and a program for synchronizing a plurality of consoles with accurate timing with an inexpensive configuration. .
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention is characterized by having the following configuration. The contents in parentheses are examples.
The control method for a mixing system according to
Further, in the configuration according to the second aspect, in the control method of the mixing system according to the first aspect, the first and the second are controlled on the condition that it is determined that there is an inconsistent portion in the determination process. A screen for confirming whether or not to match the control data is displayed, and at a position where there is an instruction to be matched, the second console (100B) replaces the first control data with the second control data. The method further comprises a first writing step (SP120) for writing to the.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for controlling a mixing system comprising first and second consoles (100A, 100B) and an engine (200E) for executing a mixing process. Storing first and second control data (scene data or library data) defining the content of the mixing process set for the engine in the first and second consoles, respectively. A determining step (SP117, SP118) of determining whether there is an inconsistency in the first and second control data; and a matching step in the determining step based on an operation on the first or second console. A display step (FIG. 14) of displaying a result display screen for displaying a portion and an inconsistent portion; A step (SP170-SP176) of writing the first control data to the second console (100B) in place of the second control data for the location where the instruction to be matched is given based on It is characterized by.
In the control method for a mixing system according to a fourth aspect, a current storage means (122a) for storing control data indicating a current setting state and a control for storing a plurality of control data indicating a plurality of setting states. A control method for a mixing system, comprising first and second consoles (100A, 100B) each having data storage means (122b, 122c) and an engine (200E) for executing a mixing process, A transmitting step of transmitting an operation event indicating the operation from one console to the other console when an operation for instructing recall of the control data is performed on any one of the first and second consoles; (SP154), and in the one console, the copy stored in the control data storage means. A first update step (SP156) of copying the control data designated by the operation from among the control data of the first console to the current storage means (122a) of the one console; Is received in the other console, the control data designated by the operation among the plurality of control data stored in the control data storage means is copied to the current storage means (122a) of the other console. Controlling the mixing process of the engine based on the control data stored in the current storage means of the first console irrespective of the contents of the current storage means of the second console; And a mixing control step (SP182). To.
Further, in the configuration according to claim 5, in the control method of the mixing system according to
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a mixing system control device that executes the mixing system control method according to any one of the first to fifth aspects.
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, there is provided a program for executing the control method of the mixing system according to any one of the first to fifth aspects.

When the fader is operated, the operation amount (attenuation amount) stored in the corresponding location in the

1.3.2. Dual console system
In the single console system, an operation of selecting a layer according to an input channel to be controlled is required. However, such an operation is complicated, and it is difficult to simultaneously control input channels belonging to different layers. Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2B, it is possible to control monaural "96" input channels simultaneously by using two consoles. Such a configuration is called a dual console system.

In FIG. 2B, “2” consoles 100A and 100B are connected to each other via these dual I /

By assigning a first layer to one

Then, in the dual console system, the contents of each

[0027]
Here, how to deal with a scene recall operation on one console becomes a problem. If all of the scene contents are transmitted from the console on which the scene recall operation was performed to the other console, the amount of data to be transmitted would be large, and the time required for reflecting the scene recall on both consoles would increase. Too much. To prevent this, in the present embodiment, only the scene recall operation (that is, which scene has been recalled) is transmitted to each other, and the actual scene is reproduced based on the contents of the scene data in each console. Is done. Therefore, the contents of the scene area 122b in each console basically need to be matched in advance.
[0028]
1.3.3. Cascade connection of single console system
In the single console system, when the total number of input channels “96” itself is insufficient, as shown in FIG. 2C, double input is performed by using two consoles and two engines. It is possible to reserve channels. In FIG. 2C, the

However, also in the dual console system, it is possible to use only one system (only 246) of the cue bus by the setting of the operator. This is because if one operator operates both consoles, it is more convenient to operate only one cue signal in operation. That is, the operator can switch the number of cue signal systems to “1” or “2” by using a cue link switch 149 (see FIG. 3) described later. When the number of queue signal systems is set to “1”, all audio signals based on the cue switch pressed on one of the master and slave consoles are mixed on the

First, consoles 100A and 100B forming one group (cascade group) of the cascade connection are brought close to each other, and consoles 100C and 100D forming the other cascade group are brought close to each other as shown in FIG. An arrangement state in which the distance is increased can be considered. It is also conceivable to arrange all the

In other arrangement methods, it is preferable that the on / off state of each switch is determined based on the same concept. In other words, consoles that are close to each other may link the talkback dimmer and switch off the call path. In addition, it is preferable to make the talkback dimmer independent for consoles that are far apart from each other, and to form a communication path using a talkback signal.

The setting contents of the VCA include the validity / invalidity of each VCA fader and the assignment state of the input channel to each VCA fader. When the VCAs are linked, the setting contents are shared between the two cascade groups.

3. Operation of the embodiment
3.1. Operations related to cascade connection
3.1.1. Timer interrupt processing
In the console connected to each engine (master console in a dual console system), if the engine is set as a cascade master or a cascade slave, the timer interrupt processing routine shown in FIG. It is started by the
In the figure, when the process proceeds to step SP202, it is detected whether or not another engine is connected via the engine cascade I /
[0098]
If the cascade connection flag is “0”, “NO” is determined in the step SP204, and the process proceeds to a step SP210. Here, it is determined whether or not another engine is physically connected via the cascade I /
[0099]
For example, if the own engine is set as the cascade master, the other party must always be the cascade slave, and if the own engine is set as the cascade slave, the other party must be the cascade master. Must. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP214, it is determined based on the confirmation result in step SP212 whether or not the own engine and the other engine are compatible with the cascade connection. In other words, in order to perform a cascade connection, the models of both engines must be the same and the firmware versions of both must match, and one of the two engines is set as the cascade master and the other is set as the cascade slave. Must have been.
[0100]
If the confirmation result meets this condition, “YES” is determined, and the process proceeds to step SP216. Here, a connection start process of both engines is executed. Specifically, first, the linked parameters (for example, VCA settings, etc.) are copied from the cascade master console to the cascade slave console. Next, in step SP216, the algorithms of the mixing system and the monitor system are changed. The details will be described by taking a case of a dual console cascade connection system (FIG. 2D) as an example.
[0101]
First, prior to the execution of step SP216, an independent mixing system algorithm (see FIG. 4) was constructed in each of the
[0102]
Also, regarding the monitor system, before execution of step SP216, the algorithm of the monitor system shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 was formed in each engine, but it is considered that there is no signal between the cascade groups. Was. In other words, the signal levels passing through the

[0105]
When the timer interrupt processing routine (FIG. 9) is started again after the cascade connection flag is set to “1”, the processing proceeds to step SP206 via steps SP202 and SP204. Here, it is determined whether the cascade connection cannot be continued. For example, this corresponds to a case where the cable connecting both engines is disconnected, or a case where the cascade mode of the
[0106]
If “YES” is determined in step SP206, the process proceeds to step SP208, and a connection stop process is executed. That is, the algorithms of the mixing system and the monitor system return to the state before step SP216 is executed first. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP209, the cascade connection flag is set to “0”, and the process of this routine ends.
[0107]
3.1.2. Scene recall processing
When a scene recall operation is performed on any console, a scene recall event processing routine shown in FIG. Here, the operation in the single console system will be mainly described, and the operation in the dual console system will be described later.
[0108]
In the figure, when the process proceeds to step SP230, the scene number of the recalled scene is substituted for the variable SN. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP232, it is determined whether or not the engine corresponding to the console is cascaded with another engine, and whether a scene recall operation is linked in the cascade connection. Here, if “NO” is determined, the process proceeds to step SP234.
[0109]
Here, a portion related to the scene number SN in the content of the scene area 122b in the console is copied to the
[0110]
On the other hand, if “YES” is determined in step SP232, the process proceeds to step SP238, and a recall request is transmitted to the console belonging to the cascade group of the other party together with the scene number SN. Hereinafter, a case where a scene recall operation occurs in the

[0115]
In step SP246, it is determined whether or not the linked parameter exists. If "YES" is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP248, and the linked parameters are transmitted to the
[0116]
In such a case, the setting data related to the VCA is transferred from the
[0117]
As described above, when a scene recall operation occurs in any of the consoles, one of the features of the present embodiment is that the linked parameters are transmitted from the “console where the operation occurred” to “another console”. . That is, in the above-described timer interrupt processing routine (FIG. 9), various parameters are always transmitted from the “cascade master side console” to the “cascade slave side console”, but once the cascade connection is established, The linked parameters can be edited on the console on either side of the cascade master and cascade slave. As a result, the operator of any console can reflect the setting contents of the link parameters of the console on his own side to another console by performing a scene recall operation.
[0118]
Now, in the
[0119]
On the other hand, in
[0120]
As described above, in the present embodiment, when a scene recall operation occurs in any of the consoles when a scene is linked during a cascade connection, the scene recall operation is reflected almost simultaneously in all of the related engines. (Steps SP252 and 282). As a result, for example, even when another non-interruptible process is being performed on the console or engine on the side that has received the recall request, the timing of performing a scene recall for each console and engine is shifted. It can be prevented before it happens.
[0121]
However, in step SP244 or step 280, a timeout is also determined. For example, if the console on the side that has transmitted or received the recall request cannot respond for a relatively long period of time, the other console does not respond. It is possible to switch the scene independently.
[0122]
3.2. Operations related to dual console
3.2.1. Timer interrupt processing in console
Each console is set by the operator to one of the operation modes of “dual console off”, “dual console master”, and “dual console slave”. These operation modes correspond to the operation states of “master console of single console system”, “master console of dual console system”, and “slave console of dual console system”, respectively. In other words, the operator sets each operation mode according to a desired operation state for each console.
[0123]
Here, when “dual console off” is selected as the operation mode, the operation state of the console is always set to “master console of a single console system”. However, when the master console or the slave console of the dual console system is selected as the operation mode, the actual operation state of the console is determined according to the operation mode of the console and the actual connection state.
[0124]
Therefore, when the operation mode is set to “dual console master” or “dual console slave”, a timer interrupt routine shown in FIG. 11 is started at each predetermined time in each console. In the figure, when the process proceeds to step SP102, it is detected whether or not another console is connected via the dual I /
[0125]
If the dual connection flag is “0”, “NO” is determined in the step SP104, and the process proceeds to a step SP110. Here, it is determined whether or not another console is physically connected via the dual I /
[0126]
The dual connection flag is a flag for determining the operation state of each console in the dual console system. That is, in this routine, even if the operation mode is the dual console master or the dual console slave, at first, various processes are executed on the assumption that the console is the master console. When the dual connection flag is set to "1", the operation state of the console whose operation mode is dual console master is set to the master console, and the operation state of the console whose operation mode is dual console slave is set to the slave console. Will be determined.
[0127]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP114, it is determined whether or not the own device and the other device are compatible with the dual console system based on the confirmation result in step SP112. That is, the models of both consoles must be the same, and the firmware versions of both consoles must also match. Furthermore, if the operation mode of the own machine is dual console master, the operation mode of the other party must always be dual console slave, and if the own machine is dual console slave, the other party must be dual console master. Must.
[0128]
If the confirmation result meets this condition, “YES” is determined, and the process proceeds to step SP116. Here, it is determined whether or not the operation mode of the console is set to dual console master.
[0129]
If “YES” is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP117, and the current operation data, the scene data, and the library data are compared with the other console set as the dual console slave. In comparison, since transferring all of these data requires an enormous transfer time, the checksum result and the time stamp are received from the slave console and compared based on these.
[0130]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP118, it is determined whether or not there is an inconsistency in the comparison result of step SP116. If there is an inconsistency, “YES” is determined, the process proceeds to step SP120, and a pop-up window is displayed on the
[0131]
By the way, there are three types of data that can be transferred from the master console to the slave console: current operation data, scene data, and library data, and the pop-up window is displayed for each of the inconsistent data among these data. . That is, the pop-up window is displayed up to a total of three times. When the operator clicks the "OK" button with a mouse in any of the windows, the corresponding data is transferred from the master console to the slave console, and the data is stored in the corresponding
[0132]
In addition, the operator can stop the transfer at any time by clicking the “Cancel” button with the mouse during the transfer. If the transfer has been completed for all three types of data or the “cancel” button has been pressed, the process proceeds to step SP122. In other words, even if the scene data and the like between the master console and the slave console do not completely match, they can be operated as a dual console system. For example, if scene switching is not performed, the scene data of both consoles may be left in different states. Such a function is suitable particularly when the dual console system needs to be started up quickly.
[0133]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP122, a connection start process is performed between the two consoles. That is, the operation event processing routine and the like (FIGS. 13A to 13D) described later are enabled, and the operation on one console is reflected on the other console. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP123, the dual connection flag is set to “1”. When the above steps are completed, the process proceeds to step SP124 (FIG. 12).
[0134]
If “NO” is determined in the above-mentioned step SP110, the above-mentioned steps SP112 to SP123 are skipped, and the process immediately proceeds to step SP124. If “NO” is determined in step SP114, the process proceeds to step SP115, a predetermined error display is performed on the
[0135]
If the operation mode of the console executing the routine is set to the dual console slave, “NO” is determined in the step SP116, and the process immediately proceeds to the step SP122. As a result, the connection start process with the master console is executed on the slave console without displaying the pop-up window or the like as described above.
[0136]
Now, in step SP124 (FIG. 12), it is determined whether or not the console is determined as a slave console. As described above, if the operation mode is the dual console slave and the dual connection flag is “1”, the console is determined as the slave console. In such a case, the processing of steps SP125 to SP138 relating to the engine connection is skipped. In other words, even if an engine is connected to the console determined as the slave console, no processing is performed on that engine.
[0137]
If the console has not been determined as a slave console, the process proceeds to step SP125. Since the console whose operation mode is set to the dual console slave and the dual connection flag is still “0” also corresponds to this, the process proceeds to step SP125. In this step, it is determined whether or not the engine connection flag is “1”. If the flag is "0", "NO" is determined, and the process proceeds to step SP130. Here, it is determined whether or not the engine is physically connected via data I /
[0138]
Next, when the processing proceeds to step SP134, it is determined whether or not the engine is suitable for the console based on the confirmation result in step SP132. If the engine is suitable for the console, the determination is "YES", and the process proceeds to step SP136. Here, the state of the
[0139]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP138, the engine connection flag is set to "1", and the process of this routine ends. If “NO” is determined in the above-mentioned step SP130, the above-mentioned steps SP132 to SP138 are skipped, and the process of this routine ends immediately. If “NO” is determined in the step SP134, the process proceeds to a step SP135, and after a predetermined error is displayed on the
[0140]
Through the above processing, the distinction between “master console” and “slave console” is determined. That is, a console in which both the dual connection flag and the engine connection flag are “1” is a “master console”, and a console in which the dual connection flag is “1” and the engine connection flag is “0” is a “slave console”. It is.
[0141]
When the timer interrupt processing routine (FIG. 11) is started again after the dual connection flag is set to “1”, the processing proceeds to step SP106 via steps SP102 and SP104. Here, it is determined whether the continuation of the dual console system has become impossible. For example, this corresponds to a case where the cable connecting both consoles is disconnected, or a case where both consoles are set as master consoles. If "YES" is determined in the step SP106, a connection stop process is executed in a step SP108. Next, when the processing proceeds to step SP109, the dual connection flag is set to “0”, and the processing of step SP125 and thereafter is executed.
[0142]
The console functions as a single console both when the steps SP108 and SP109 are executed on the previous master console and when the steps SP108 and SP109 are executed on the previous slave console.
[0143]
When the timer interrupt processing routine (FIG. 11) is started again after the engine connection flag is set to "1", the processing proceeds to step SP126 in the master console via step SP125. Here, it is determined whether the connection to the engine has been disconnected. For example, this corresponds to a case where a cable between the console and the engine is disconnected or a case where the power of the engine is turned off. If "YES" is determined in the step SP126, a connection stop process is executed in a step SP128, and an engine connection flag is set to "0" in a step SP129.
[0144]
3.2.2. Master console timer interrupt processing: FIG. 13 (d)
In the master console (or single console), a timer interrupt processing routine shown in FIG. This routine is executed more frequently than the timer interrupt routine in FIG. When the process proceeds to step SP180 in FIG. 13D, it is determined whether or not the current operation data has changed. The current operation data is updated by an operation event processing routine (FIG. 13A) described below. If "YES" is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP182, and the parameters of the algorithm of the mixing system in the corresponding engine are updated based on the changed data. With this routine, the content of the mixing process is controlled based on the current operation data of the master console (or single console).
[0145]
3.2.3. Operation event processing routine: FIG.
Regardless of the master / slave, when a predetermined operation event occurs in the
[0146]
In the figure, when the process proceeds to step SP150, the parameter number for identifying the operated parameter is assigned to the variable PN, and the new value of the parameter after the operation is assigned to the variable BUF. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP152, it is determined whether or not the console in which the operation has occurred is connected to another console to form a dual console system.
[0147]
If "YES" is determined here, the process proceeds to step SP154, and the content of the generated operation event, that is, the parameter number PN and the parameter value BUF are transmitted to the console of the other party via the dual I /
[0148]
By the way, when a scene recall operation event occurs in the dual console system, the parameter number PN is set to a value indicating “scene recall”, and the parameter value BUF is set to a scene number. Here, there is a possibility that scene data having the same scene number is different in the master / slave console, but this routine does not consider the difference between these scene data. Here, there is one of the features of the present embodiment. That is, in the present embodiment, the information exchanged between the consoles at the time of scene recall is only the parameter number PN and the parameter value BUF, and the amount of information to be transmitted can be extremely small. Thus, both consoles can quickly switch scenes based on the scene data of the consoles.
[0149]
3.2.4. Operation event reception processing routine: FIG.
In step SP154, when the operation event content is transmitted from the console where the operation has occurred, the operation event reception processing routine shown in FIG. 13B is started on the console that has received the operation event content.
[0150]
In the figure, when the process proceeds to step SP160, the received parameter number and parameter value are substituted for variables PN and BUF, respectively. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP162, it is checked whether or not the parameter number PN and the parameter value BUF have consistency with the current operation data.
[0151]
That is, in the dual console system, it is desirable that the current operation data of both consoles match, but as described above in step SP120, even if there is a difference in the current operation data or scene data of both consoles, This can be ignored and the dual console operation can be started. If the difference in the current operation data is ignored, there is a possibility that both consoles will be inconsistent from the beginning. Further, if any scene data has an inconsistency, the inconsistency may occur in the current operation data when the scene data is recalled in both consoles.
[0152]
Here, the meaning of the “mismatch” will be described briefly. The "mismatch" occurs when "the number of parameters increases or decreases or the function of another parameter is changed by setting a certain parameter (pair setting of an input channel, selection of an effect, etc.)". For example, "when the parameter specified by the parameter number is not valid" or "when an attempt is made to set a parameter value specified by the parameter number that is out of the allowable change range".
[0153]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP164, it is determined whether or not the operation event is consistent based on the check result of the SP162. If there is a match, the determination is "YES", the process proceeds to step SP166, and the current operation data is updated according to the received operation event. If “NO” is determined in the step SP164, the process proceeds to a step SP168, and a warning indicating that the mismatch has occurred is displayed on the
[0154]
The processing in step SP168 actually differs depending on whether this routine is executed on the master console or on the slave console. That is, when step SP168 is executed in the master console, a command is output from the master console to the slave console to display a warning, and when this command is received in the slave console, the warning display is displayed in the slave console. Done. When step SP168 is executed on the slave console side, a warning is simply displayed on the
[0155]
According to the above operation, it can be understood that the phenomenon when the operation event is inconsistent differs depending on the console where the operation event has occurred. That is, if the operation event originally occurred in the master console, the current operation data on the master console side is updated based on the operation event in step SP156. Then, since the
[0156]
On the other hand, when this inconsistent operation event occurs in the slave console, step SP156 is executed in the slave console. However, the current operation data on the slave console side is not reflected on the parameters of the algorithm of the
[0157]
3.2.5. Display verification screen
When a predetermined screen selection operation is performed on the master console, a verify / copy screen shown in FIG. 14 is displayed on the
[0158]
When the process proceeds to step SP170 in FIG. 13C, “0” is substituted for the variable i. Next, when the process proceeds to step SP172, a request is made to the slave console to transmit a checksum and a time stamp of the i-th data (current operation data, scene data or library data). When the checksum and the time stamp are supplied from the slave console in response, the process proceeds to step SP174. Here, the checksum and the time stamp supplied from the slave console are compared with the checksum and the time stamp of the i-th data stored in the master console, and the comparison result is stored in a predetermined area in the
[0159]
Next, when the process proceeds to step SP174, it is determined whether or not the variable i is less than the maximum value i_MAX. If "YES" is determined here, the variable i is incremented by "1" in step SP178. Thereafter, the processing of steps SP172 and SP174 is repeated for each data until the variable i reaches the maximum value i_MAX. When “NO” is determined in the step SP176 and the process of this routine ends, the verify / copy screen (FIG. 14) has been updated based on the latest information.
