Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a disc brake pad used for a vehicle.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 5, a caliper 53 is provided on a disc brake 51 used for an automobile or the like, and a piston 55 and two pads 59 are attached via a shim 57 inside the caliper 53. ing. The two pads 59 are respectively provided on both side surfaces of the disk 61, and are simultaneously pressed against the disk 61 by the pressing force of the piston 55. The pad 59 is composed of a friction material 63 in contact with the disk 61 on a sliding surface 68 and a back metal 65 for supporting the friction material 63 from the back as shown in FIG. Further, a dust cover 67 for preventing intrusion of mud or the like is provided outside the disk 61.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the disc brake 51, since the resonance frequencies of the pad 59 and the disc 61 are close to each other, the pads 59 and the disc 61 may resonate with each other at the time of braking, so that a so-called brake squeal sound (a squeal called a key sound or a chie sound) may be generated.
In order to prevent squeal, it is necessary to use ones whose resonance frequencies are shifted. Conventionally, as shown in FIG. 6, a slit 69 is formed in the friction surface 68 of the friction material 63 in a direction perpendicular to the rotation direction 70 of the disk 61 to change the mode shape of the resonance mode. Had been.
However, when the slit 69 is formed, the area of the friction surface 68 with the disk 61 is reduced, so that there is a problem that the braking force is reduced.
[0004]
Further, in the prior art, as shown in Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 4-44529, a friction member is bonded to a backing metal having irregularities perpendicular to the rotation direction of the disk and pressurized in the same manner as in the above-described prior art. In some cases, heat treatment is performed to create portions having different specific gravities in each portion of the friction member, so that vibrations due to resonance are absorbed by portions having a small specific gravity. However, according to this structure, the structure becomes complicated, and many manufacturing steps are required, and a method for preventing squeal by a simple method is desired.
[0005]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of such problems of the conventional technology, and has as its object to prevent brake squeal without processing slits or the like in a friction material and to sufficiently hold a braking force. Is to do.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a disk brake pad having a friction material and a back metal provided on the friction material, wherein a protrusion protruding in a direction opposite to a friction material mounting surface of the back metal is provided opposite a friction material mounting surface of the back metal. And the longitudinal direction of the protrusion extends in the rotation direction of the disk.
The shape of the protrusion in the longitudinal direction is an arc shape.
Further, the entire surface of the friction surface of the friction material is formed in one plane, and the entire surface can be formed so as to be in contact with the disk.
[0007]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a vehicle disk brake pad according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
As shown in FIG. 1, the disc brake 1 includes a caliper 3 that simultaneously presses both sides of a disc 7 provided on a wheel hub 15 of a wheel to generate a braking friction force. The caliper 3 is provided with pads 5 on both sides of the clamping portion of the disk 7, respectively. As shown in FIG. 2, the pad 5 is composed of a friction material 9 and a back metal 11, the friction material 9 is disposed on the disk side of the back metal 11, and a friction surface 10 of the friction material 9 is disposed on the disk surface. They are provided in parallel.
[0008]
To change the resonance frequency (natural frequency), the weight and shape of the pad 5 are generally reviewed. However, in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 2B and 2C, the friction surface 10 has a planar shape without intentionally providing slit processing or unevenness for shifting the resonance frequency with the disk 7. The friction surface 10 is formed so that the entire surface thereof contacts the disk 7.
[0009]
As shown in FIG. 2, a rib 19 projecting in the opposite direction to the mounting surface of the friction material 9 is formed on the back metal 11 on the surface opposite to the friction material mounting surface of the back metal 11, and the longitudinal direction of the rib 19 is equal to that of the disk. 7 is provided so as to extend in an arc shape in the rotating direction. That is, the rib 19 is formed so as to be parallel to the rotation direction 17 of the disk 7 corresponding to the position where the rib 19 is formed.
The protrusion dimension and the width dimension of the rib 19 are set to optimal values that can avoid resonance with the disk 7.
[0010]
As shown in FIG. 3A, the ribs 19 can be provided in a substantially linear shape along the circular arc to shift the resonance frequency. Here, the substantially linear shape means not only the linear shape shown in FIG. 3A, but also all the arbitrary curves and linear shapes connecting the left end and the right end of the pad 5.
[0011]
In the vehicle disk brake pad 5 according to the embodiment of the present invention, a rib (a protrusion) protruding in a direction opposite to the mounting surface of the friction material 9 and extending in an arc direction in the rotation direction 17 of the disk 7 is provided on the back surface of the back metal 11. Since the part 19 is provided, resonance can be avoided by shifting the resonance frequency of the pad 5 and the squeal noise of the disc brake 1 can be eliminated. In particular, since the rib is extended in the friction direction of the pad 5, the resonance frequency of the pad (and the back metal) can be effectively changed.
Further, since the arc-shaped shape of the rib 19 includes a substantially linear shape, the rib 19 can be easily provided according to the mounting structure of the pad 5 and the design of the mold.
Further, the entire surface of the friction surface 10 of the friction material 9 is formed by one plane, and the entire surface is formed so as to be in contact with the disk 7, so that a reduction in the contact area reduces the braking force. There is no.
[0012]
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment. For example, as shown in FIG. 4, depending on the state of resonance, a plurality of ribs 19 are provided in parallel with the rotation direction 17 of the disk 7. You can also. Further, the rib 19 extending in the rotation direction 17 may be provided separately. The rib 19 is provided at a position substantially at the center with respect to the height direction of the back metal 11 (see FIG. 2C), but may be provided at an arbitrary height according to the mounting structure of the back metal 11. .
Further, the tip of the protrusion has a round shape in FIG. 2, but may have a shape that becomes thinner toward the tip or a square shape.
[0013]
【The invention's effect】
According to the vehicle disk brake pad of the present invention, the protrusion protruding in the opposite direction to the friction material mounting surface of the back metal is formed on the surface of the back metal opposite to the friction material mounting surface, and the longitudinal direction of the protrusion is Since the direction is provided so as to extend in the rotational direction of the disk, the resonance between the pad and the disk can be avoided by a simple structure, and squeal noise can be prevented.
Further, the entire surface of the friction surface of the friction material is constituted by one plane, and the entire surface is formed so as to be in contact with the disk. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a reduction in the braking force due to a decrease in the contact surface. .
