この偏差eは、PID(Proportional−Integral−Differential)調整器PID.Cによって操作量u*が演算され、更に、リミッタ回路LIM.Cを経て、電圧ゲインがKvであるリニア増幅器AMPの入力電圧uが創出される。
VS * =L・dir/dt+Rir+ΔVs

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a power amplifier for driving a servo actuator, and more particularly, to a linear amplifier requiring high-speed response and high efficiency, and a PWM (pulse width modulation) amplifier requiring low ripple output current and high-speed response.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The power amplifier includes a PWM amplifier and a linear amplifier.
The PWM amplifier controls the average output voltage or output current by changing the switching duty (time ratio between ON and OFF) by a power switching device. For this reason, although power loss is small and high efficiency and high-speed response are possible, there is a problem that output voltage or current is accompanied by high ripple.
On the other hand, the linear amplifier attempts to control the instantaneous output voltage or output current, and does not generate output ripple as in a PWM amplifier, but the power loss of the power amplifier circuit is very large and the efficiency is low. bad.
In particular, when high-speed response of the output current is required at a high output voltage, the main circuit power supply voltage of the amplifier is required to be high in both the PWM amplifier and the linear amplifier, and the former amplifier has an excessive output current ripple. The issue is how to reduce the power, and how to reduce the power loss without sacrificing high-precision control performance in the latter amplifier.
[0003]
The power amplifying device described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 8-316739 makes it possible to greatly increase the total output power of a plurality of power amplifiers while maintaining high efficiency. FIG. 5 shows a power amplifying device described in JP-A-8-316739.
In the figure, according to the present invention, inputs to signal input terminals 1A to 1E are input to a plurality of amplifiers 19A to 19E, and a plurality of amplifiers 19A to 19E are controlled by a signal attenuation control unit 23 whose attenuation is adjusted in inverse proportion to the gain. The maximum value is selected from the signals at the input terminals and applied to a maximum value detection control unit 40 that outputs the selected signal. The dual power supply switching unit 41A, 41B amplifies the signal at the output terminal and switches between the two power sources. By controlling the control unit 44, the positive and negative high-voltage power supply control transistors 8 and 12 are activated or cut off, respectively, depending on whether or not a predetermined threshold value is exceeded. The applied power supply voltage is switched between high and low.
However, although this power amplifying device prepares a plurality of power amplifiers 19A to 19E, it does not sacrifice high-precision control performance for each of the power amplifiers 19A to 19E and reduces power loss. No measures have been taken to do so.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a power amplifier having a small power loss, high efficiency, high-speed response, and a small ripple.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, an invention of a low-loss power amplifier according to claim 1 comprises a main circuit power supply unit having a positive power supply and a negative power supply, and a power amplification unit to which the power of the main circuit power supply is supplied. In the power amplifier, the main circuit power supply section includes a plurality of main circuit power supplies having different power supply voltages, and the switching of the power supply voltage is performed based on a command or an input voltage of the power amplifier circuit.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the low-loss power amplifier according to the first aspect, when the command or the input voltage of the power amplifying circuit has an absolute value of the input and a change amount thereof is large, the absolute value of the power supply voltage is low. It is characterized in that the larger one is selected.
The invention according to claim 3 is the low-loss power amplifier according to claim 1 or 2, wherein each output of the plurality of main circuit power supplies is provided with a series connection circuit of a power transistor and a diode. Features.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the low-loss power amplifier according to any one of the first to third aspects, the diodes are separately OR-connected on the positive power supply side and the negative power supply side. And
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the low-loss power amplifier according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, the power transistor is configured to switch one power supply voltage from the plurality of different power supply voltages by an on / off switch function. Is selected and output to the power amplifier.
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in the low-loss power amplifier according to any one of the first to fifth aspects, the power transistor controls a voltage of an output power supply.
As described above, when high transient response performance and high output are required for the power amplifier, the power supply of the main circuit of the amplifier circuit requires a high voltage, and when the output of the power amplifier reaches a steady state, At the time of low output, it is required to lower the power supply voltage of the main circuit in order to maintain high-precision output characteristics and reduce power loss of the amplifier circuit.
Therefore, the present invention pays attention to this point and adopts the above configuration, whereby the power supply voltage of the main circuit can be switched based on the output of the power amplifier (that is, the input voltage u of the amplifier having a linear relationship with the power amplifier). In addition, it is possible to obtain a power amplifier having small power loss, high efficiency, high-speed response, and small ripple.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a power amplifier according to the present invention.
In FIG. 1, this power amplifier is composed of three parts: a main circuit power supply section A, a power amplification section B, and a power supply switching control section C provided according to the present invention.

The circuit configuration does not pose any particular problem as long as the power supply has a constant voltage to some extent.
Power amplifier is a PWM amplifier or a linear amplifier, a power-amplifies the input voltage u output voltage V 0, for supplying power to the load.
The power supply switching control unit selects one dual output power supply ± V si from n types of dual output power supplies having a voltage of ± VS 1 <± VS 2 ... <± V sn and supplies the voltage ± VDD to the power amplification unit. to main circuit P v for, and N v, the main circuit of the power transistor (or this and the semiconductor device for same power) and a control circuit section Cc for driving and controlling the.
[0007]
2A and 2B are detailed diagrams of a power supply switching control unit provided according to the present invention. FIG. 2A shows a main circuit unit, and FIG. 2B shows a control circuit unit.
As shown in FIG. 2A, the main circuit section is divided into a positive voltage side main circuit Pv and a negative voltage side main circuit Nv. In the main circuit on the positive voltage side, a power transistor (or a similar power semiconductor element) T pi and a diode D pi are connected in series, and the cathode side of each of these diodes is connected in common.
Similarly, in the negative voltage side main circuit, the power transistor T ni and the diode D ni are connected in series, and the anode side of each of these diodes is connected in common.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 2B, the control circuit section includes an input comparison / determination circuit COMP and a gate drive circuit GDR of a power transistor (or a similar power semiconductor element). The input comparison / determination circuit COMP corresponds to the absolute value | u | of the input voltage u or the magnitude of the change | Δu | and selects and outputs one dual output power supply ± Vsi from n types of power supplies. A signal is output. This signal is input to a gate drive circuit GDR and a drive signal GT ( n1 ; p1 , n2 ; p2 ,..., Ni ; pi ,...) Of a power transistor (or a power semiconductor element similar thereto). nn ; pn ) are output.
[0008]
In order to perform high-speed and high-precision current control by the linear amplifier, the power supply switching control unit according to the present invention is used to switch the main circuit power supply, thereby reducing the loss of the power amplifier. FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing a current control system according to the present invention. As shown in FIG. 3, the load is a first-order lag of the resistance R and the inductance L. This load current is a control amount, and control specifications include 1) resolution and accuracy of current, 2) settling time at the time of a step command, and 3) power amplifier loss.
To achieve the target of current resolution and accuracy, we used a high-precision current detector for negative feedback control and a linear amplifier designed to meet the specifications.
For the settling time, the maximum value of the main circuit power supply voltage ± VS3 was determined in consideration of the maximum output current.
The main circuit power supply voltages ± VS2 and ± VS1 were determined from the steady-state output current and the target loss of the linear amplifier circuit. Of course, V S3 > V S2 > V S1 , but these voltages are considered in consideration of IGBT transistors (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) T P3 to T n1 , diodes D P3 to D n1 , and the saturation voltage of the linear amplifier AMP. , ΔV S.
Three main circuit power supply ± V S3, ± V S2, switching control of the ± V S1 is performed as follows. The current command i r and the feedback signal i f from the current detector I DET, the deviation e can be obtained. This deviation e is determined by a PID (Proportional-Integral-Differential) regulator PID. C calculates an operation amount u * , and further outputs a limiter circuit LIM. Through C, and the input voltage u of the linear amplifier AMP is the voltage gain is K v is created.
The input voltage u is also input to the input comparison determination circuit COMP.
Input comparison discrimination circuit COMP is V s * = K v · | u | + ΔV s ... (1)
V s * = K v · | Δu | + ΔV s ... (1) '
And the following proposition is processed.
[0009]
FIG. 4 is a flowchart for performing switching control of three types of main circuit power supplies ± VS3 , ± VS2 , and ± VS1 .
In FIG. 4, in step 1, the above-described limiter circuit LIM. C is given by equation (1)
V S3 ≧ V so that S * is satisfied, that is | u | <to (V S3 · ΔV S) / K v to limit the input voltage u of COMP.
The calculation of the deviation e, the PID calculation, the upper / lower limit calculation of the limiter circuit, the calculation of Expression (1), the processing of the following propositions 1) to 3), and the like are executed by a processing circuit using a microprocessor. However, it can also be configured with conventional hardware.
In step 2, proposition 1) is executed. That is,
If V S3 ≧ V S * > V S2 , the process proceeds to step S4 to supply the power supply ± V S3 to the linear amplifier. This is done by turning the T P3, T n3 of IGBT gate drive circuit GDR in FIG. On the other hand, if not V S3 ≧ V S *> V S2, the process proceeds to step S3.
In step 3, proposition 2) is executed. That is,
If V S2 ≧ V S *> V S1, the process proceeds to step S5, and supplies power ± V S2 to the linear amplifier. This is performed by turning on T P2 and T n2 of the IGBT of the gate drive circuit GDR in FIG. On the other hand, if V S2 ≧ V S * > V S1 , the process proceeds to step S6.
In step 6, proposition 3) is executed. That is,
Since V S2 ≧ V S * > V S1 , the power supply ± V S1 is supplied to the linear amplifier. This is done by turning the T P1, T n1 of IGBT gate drive circuit GDR in FIG.
Whether one of the propositions 1) to 3) is sequentially executed is determined by comparing the previous proposition with the next proposition, by comparing the absolute value of the power supply voltage supplied to the linear amplifier | ± VS3 |, | ± VS2 | , | ± V S1 | is switched to the larger one, the output of the low-voltage power supply is blocked by the reverse bias of the diode, so that the operation timing for turning off the IGBT of the previous proposition has an allowable delay. Is done.
Conversely, when the absolute value of the power supply voltage supplied to the linear amplifier is switched to a smaller value, the IGBT that was turned on in the previous proposition synchronizes with the on timing of the IGBT that will be executed next. You have to turn it off.
The control circuit section (power supply switching control circuit) PS. The control operation of the IGBT by C plays only the role of switching, but the switching operation of the two main circuit power supplies is gently overlapped to prevent a sudden change in the power supply voltage from adversely affecting the linear amplifier circuit and the outside. be able to.
In a main circuit power supply having poor constant voltage characteristics, the characteristics can be improved by regulating the voltage with an IGBT.
Above, the formula (1) V S * calculation of the input comparison determination circuit, and (1) carried on the basis of a ', were subjected to switching of the supply voltage, the command input of the control system (i r in FIG. 3) Using the load constant from
V S * = L · di r / dt + Ri r + ΔV s
Is also possible.
Note that the present invention is applicable even if the power amplifier of the current control system is not a linear amplifier but a PWM amplifier.
[0010]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, in a power amplifier including a main circuit power supply unit having a positive power supply and a negative power supply, and a power amplifying unit to which power of the main circuit power supply unit is supplied, the main circuit power supply unit has different power supply voltages. A plurality of main circuit power supplies, the power supply voltage is switched based on a command or input voltage of the power amplifier circuit, and the command or input voltage of the power amplifier circuit is an absolute value of the input and a change amount thereof. When the power supply voltage is large, the power supply voltage with the larger absolute value is selected, so that a power amplifier with high accuracy, high speed response and low loss can be realized.
In particular, in a linear amplifier, the loss is significantly reduced while improving the performance of the high-speed response.
In addition, the advantage of the PWM amplifier is not impaired, and the n types of power supplies in the main circuit power supply section can be easily produced from a commercial power supply by using a simple voltage multiplying rectifier circuit. And contributes to higher performance of the power amplifier.
