Abstract
Description
【0001】

Table 1 shows, as an example of uranium-adhered waste, uranium discarded on a material to be decontaminated (maraging steel: stainless steel (MRS) with an oxide film formed on its surface, stainless steel (SUS), Cu, uranium-containing Al). The figure shows the recovery in a solution when a substance (uranium in the form of UF 4 ) is dissolved in formic acid (HCOOH).
[0021]
As is clear from Table 1, it can be seen that by using formic acid, uranium adhering to the material to be decontaminated can be dissolved to form a solution. This is considered to be because uranium forms a complex of uranyl formate (UO 2 (HCO 2 ) 2 .H 2 O) and dissolves in the formic acid solution.
[0022]
[Table 1]
[0023]
FIG. 2 shows that the uranium-adhered waste is not a metal structural material, but is a material other than metal, such as a chemical trap material (NaF), a precipitate (CaF 2 ), or a uranium-adhered waste attached to a brick (Al 2 O 3 ). 4 shows a dissolution removal processing flow.
[0024]
As is clear from FIG. 2, NaF, CaF 2 and Al 2 O 3 are hardly dissolved in formic acid, only uranium is dissolved to form uranyl formate, and uranyl formate is decomposed by hydrogen peroxide. Then, uranium is recovered as peroxide (UO 4 ), and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is discarded.
