本発明は、洋式トイレの使用者が身体を支えるために用いる補助手摺に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
病気や負傷等の原因によって介護を要する人がトイレを使用する際には、身体を支えるための手摺が必要である。一般に和式トイレは、使用者が壁面に向かう位置に便器が配置され、しかもその壁面と使用者との距離は比較的近くなる。したがって和式トイレでは、使用者の前の壁面に手摺を固定すれば、使用者は手摺を両手で掴んで確実に身体を支えることができる。

一方、洋式トイレの便器は、使用者が向かう壁面との距離が比較的遠い位置に配置され、使用者の前には比較的大きい空間が設けられる。したがって洋式トイレでは、使用者の前の壁面に手摺を固定しても、使用者が身体を支えることは困難である。そこで洋式トイレに手摺を取り付ける場合は、通常、使用者の横の壁面に固定する。

図４は、洋式トイレ室内の壁面に従来の手摺を設置した状態を示す図であり、（ａ）は平面図、 （ｂ）は側面図である。すなわち手摺１３は、便器１０の横の壁面１１に固定される。
ところが手摺１３をこの位置に固定すると、使用者が両手で手摺１３を掴むためには、身体を捩じらなければならない。あるいは使用者が片手で手摺１３を掴む場合には、身体の安定性を欠くことになる。特に介護を要する人が洋式トイレを使用する際には、いずれの場合も使用者が身体を確実に支えることは困難であるばかりでなく、転倒等の危険が生じる。

このような危険性を回避して、安全かつ確実に身体を支えるためには、手摺１３を、壁面１１に対して９０°の角度をなして固定する必要がある。こうして壁面１１から垂直に手摺１３を取り付けて、便器１０の前に手摺１３を固定すると、使用者は手摺を両手で掴んで確実に身体を支えることができる。
しかしながら洋式トイレの便器１０の前に手摺１３を固定すると、使用者が洋式トイレ室内へ出入りするのに支障をきたす。特に、洋式トイレでは、便器１０の前の壁面に扉（図示せず）が設けられる配置も少なくない。そのような配置の洋式トイレで便器１０の前に手摺１３を固定すると、便器１０と扉との中間に手摺１３が設置されることになるので、洋式トイレ室内への出入りが著しく阻害される。その結果、使用者が洋式トイレ室内へ出入りする際に、転倒等の危険が生じる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は上記のような問題を解消し、洋式トイレの使用者が安全かつ確実に身体を支えることができ、しかも洋式トイレ室内への出入りも阻害されない補助手摺を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、洋式トイレ室内に固定される支柱と、支柱によって保持される梁と、梁に沿って移動する移動架台と、移動架台に回動可能に配設される回動架台と、回動架台に一端を回動可能に取り付けかつ梁または支柱に他端を回動可能に取り付けて回動架台の回動に応じて伸縮する伸縮部材と、回動架台を梁に対して所定の角度をなして移動架台に固定する架台固定部材と、架台固定部材によって固定された回動架台を回動可能にする固定解除部材と、回動架台に配設される掴み部材とを有する洋式トイレ用補助手摺である。

前記した発明においては、好適態様として、梁を、支柱に沿って移動可能にし、かつ任意の位置に固定できるように取り付けることが好ましい。
また、伸縮部材の一端を、回動架台に沿って移動可能にし、かつ任意の位置に固定できるように取り付けることが好ましい。
また、回動架台が、梁に対して９０°の角度をなして移動架台に固定されることが好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】
図１は、本発明の補助手摺を洋式トイレ便器の横に格納した状態を示す図であり、（ａ）は平面図、 （ｂ）は側面図である。
図１に示すように、支柱１は洋式トイレ室内に固定される。ただし図１には、洋式トイレ室内の壁面１１および床面１２に支柱１を固定する状態を示したが、洋式トイレ室内の状況に応じて、壁面１１または床面１２に固定しても良い。また、洋式トイレ室内の壁面１１や床面１２は、木製パネルあるいはタイル等の種々の材質が使用される。したがって、支柱１を固定する手段は、特定の構成に限定せず、ボルトや埋め込み等の従来から知られている手段を適宜選択して使用すれば良い。

支柱１は、このようにして固定されて梁２を保持する。後述するように洋式トイレの使用者が掴み部材８を掴んで身体を支える際には、梁２の高さを一定に保持する必要がある。しかし使用者の身長等の条件に応じて掴み部材８の高さを調整するためには、梁２が支柱１に沿って移動できるようにするのが好ましい。ただし高さ調整が終了した後は、梁２を支柱１に固定して使用する。梁２を所定の位置に固定する手段は、特定の構成に限定せず、ボルトやシリンダー等の従来から知られている手段を適宜選択して使用すれば良い。

移動架台３には、回動架台４が回動できるように取り付けられる。回動架台４には、伸縮部材６の一端が回動できるように取り付けられる。この伸縮部材６の他端は、梁２または支柱１に回動できるように取り付けられる。このようにして回動架台４と梁２で伸縮部材６を回動可能に支持すれば、掴み部材８の高さを調整する際に支障なく梁２を支柱１に沿って移動できる。なお図１，２には、伸縮部材６を梁２に取り付ける例を示す。

つまり洋式トイレの使用者が本発明の補助手摺で身体を支える際には、図２に示すように、回動架台４を回動させて、梁２に対して所定の角度をなすように固定して、使用者が掴み部材８を掴む。ここで、回動架台４を梁２に対して所定の角度をなして固定するとは、回動架台４を使用者の正面に固定して、使用者が身体を捩じらずに両手で掴み部材８を掴める位置に固定することを指す。したがって、固定された回動架台４が梁２に対してなす角度は、通常は９０°であるが、洋式トイレ室内の状況に応じて適宜設定すれば良い。

このとき、回動架台４の回動に伴って移動架台３が梁２に沿って移動するとともに、伸縮部材６が回動しつつ伸縮する。この伸縮部材６は、長さ方向に伸縮して長さが変化し、その一端が回動架台４に取り付けられ、かつ他端が梁２に取り付けられる。伸縮部材６は、回動架台４の回動に伴って回動しながら伸縮するので、回動架台４と梁２にそれぞれ回動可能に取り付ける必要がある。なお伸縮部材６は、特定の構成に限定せず、シリンダーやガスダンパー等の従来から知られているものを適宜選択して使用すれば良い。

回動架台４が梁２に対して所定の角度をなすように固定するにあたって、架台固定部材５を用いて回動架台４を固定する。本発明の補助手摺で用いる架台固定部材５の例を図３に示す。すなわち図３の（ａ）は掴み部材８を便器１０の横に格納した状態を示す図であり、（ｂ）は掴み部材８を便器１０の前に固定した状態を示す図である。

図３（ａ）に示すように、架台固定部材５は移動架台３に取り付けられる。一方、回動架台４の回動軸部１４には固定解除部材７が取り付けられ、かつ凹部９が設けられる。回動架台４が回動することによって、図３（ｂ）に示すように、凹部９の位置が架台固定部材５の位置に一致すると、架台固定部材５が上昇して凹部９内に進入し、回動架台４を固定する。架台固定部材５を上昇させる手段は、特定の構成に限定せず、スプリングやシリンダー等の従来から知られている手段を適宜選択して使用すれば良い。

このようにして回動架台４は、架台固定部材５によって、所定の角度で移動架台３に固定され、しかも伸縮部材６が回動架台４と梁２に架設されているので、梁２，回動架台４および伸縮部材６で構成される形態が固定され、移動架台３が梁２に沿って移動するのを防止する。したがって回動架台４に配設された掴み部材８の位置は変動せず、しかも洋式トイレの使用者が、身体を捩じることなく両手で掴み部材８を掴めるので、安全かつ確実に身体を支えることができるのである。

洋式トイレの使用者が掴み部材８で身体を支える際には、掴み部材８の位置を一定に保持する必要がある。しかし使用者の身長等の条件に応じて掴み部材８と便器１０との間隔を調整するためには、伸縮部材６の一端が回動架台４に沿って移動できるようにするのが好ましい。
つまり、伸縮部材６の一端が回動架台４に沿って移動すると、伸縮部材６の他端が梁２に取り付けられているので、伸縮部材６の長さが変化する。このとき、回動架台４は所定の角度で移動架台３に固定されているので、伸縮部材６の長さの変化に応じて移動架台３が梁２に沿って移動する。このようにして掴み部材８と便器１０との間隔を調整することができる。

ただし掴み部材８と便器１０との間隔の調整が終了した後は、伸縮部材６の取り付け位置を回動架台４に固定して使用する。伸縮部材６の取り付け位置を固定する手段は、特定の構成に限定せず、ボルトやシリンダー等の従来から知られている手段を適宜選択して使用すれば良い。
さらに梁２にストッパー（図示せず）を配設して、移動架台３の過剰な移動を防止すると、架台固定部材５や伸縮部材６に故障が発生したときにも、使用者の転倒を防止でき、安全性が一層向上する。

次に、洋式トイレの使用者が掴み部材８を便器１０の横に格納する際には、固定解除部材７を用いて回動架台４の固定を解除し、掴み部材８を回動させる。たとえば図３に示した例では、固定解除部材７を下方へ押下することによって、架台固定部材５が下降して凹部９から離脱する。この状態で回動架台４を回動させれば、掴み部材８を便器１０の横に格納できる。

【実施例】
図１に示すように、本発明の補助手摺を洋式トイレ室内に設置した。支柱１，梁２および掴み部材８はアルミニウム合金で製作した。支柱１は壁面１１および床面１２にボルトで固定した。架台固定部材５はスプリングを用いて上昇させて、回動架台４と梁２との角度を９０°として回動架台４を固定するように設定した。また、伸縮部材６はシリンダーを使用し、移動架台３は車輪を内蔵して梁２に沿って容易に移動できるようにした。

そして洋式トイレを使用する度に回動架台４を回動させて、図２に示すように便器１０の前で固定し、掴み部材８を掴んで体重をかけた後、図１に示すように掴み部材８を便器１０の横に格納した。
このようにして３０日間、本発明の補助手摺を使用した。その期間中に、支柱１や梁２，掴み部材８の変形は発生せず、しかも移動架台３や架台固定部材５，伸縮部材６の故障は皆無であった。

本発明によれば、洋式トイレの使用者が支障なく出入りでき、しかも安全かつ確実に身体を支えることができる。
