Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a light emitting device that is used for a liquid crystal display, a Schaucusten or the like, and includes a diffusion plate that diffuses light from a light source.
[0002]
Problems to be solved by the prior art and the invention
Some light emitting devices constitute, for example, a backlight of a liquid crystal display. The light emitting device forms a desired image on the front surface of the liquid crystal panel by applying light from the light source from behind a liquid crystal panel to be irradiated. In addition, the above-mentioned backlight is roughly classified into a side type and a direct type according to the arrangement of the light source. However, in a large display having a size of more than 15 inches, the direct type has a simpler and lighter structure than the side type. Backlights (light emitting devices) have been used.
[0003]
By the way, in the light emitting device as described above, generally, light from a light source is diffused by a diffusion plate to eliminate a lamp image of the light source to obtain a uniform light emitting quality.
However, as the diffusion plate, conventionally, a substrate made of glass or a synthetic resin such as an acrylic resin or a polycarbonate resin and a diffusion material such as diffusion particles such as beads dispersed in these substrates is usually used. There has been a problem that the weight of the plate and thus the light emitting device is increased, and the cost is increased. Further, although the diffusion plate is disposed on the optical path of the light source, heat generated by the light source may be transmitted to a liquid crystal panel or the like, and the temperature of the panel or the like may be increased.
[0004]
In view of the above-described conventional problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting device that has excellent heat insulating properties and can be reduced in weight.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The light emitting device of the present invention includes a light source,
A diffusion plate for diffusing light from the light source,
The diffusion plate is made of a material having a light-transmitting property and having air bubbles provided therein (Claim 1).
[0006]
In the light emitting device configured as described above, since the diffusion plate is made of a material having a light-transmitting property and bubbles inside, the diffusion plate diffuses light incident from a light source by the bubbles and irradiates the light to the outside. be able to. Further, the density of the diffusion plate can be reduced by the bubbles existing inside the diffusion plate, and the heat generated by the light source can be efficiently blocked by the bubbles of the diffusion plate.
[0007]
In the light-emitting device (claim 1), the material is preferably a foamed resin material (claim 2).
In this case, the diffusion plate having bubbles inside can be easily formed.
[0008]
In the light emitting device (claim 1 or 2), a protection sheet for protecting the diffusion plate may be provided (claim 3).
In this case, since the protective sheet protects the diffusion plate, it is possible to reliably prevent the diffusion plate from being damaged and to maintain the diffusibility of the light from the light source in the diffusion plate.
[0009]
