【請求項1】 第1担体粒子に担持されている第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2担体粒子に担持されている第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記アノード層中の前記第1触媒材料の平均密度が1.0mg/mm3を超え、前記カソード層中の前記第2触媒材料の平均密度が1.0mg/mm3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
【請求項2】 第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記アノード層中の前記第1触媒材料の電気化学的表面積/体積比が200cm2/mm3を超え、前記カソード層中の前記第2触媒材料の電気化学的表面積/体積比が200cm2/mm3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
【請求項3】 第1担体粒子に担持されている第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2担体粒子に担持されている第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記第1担体粒子の平均アスペクト比が3を超え、前記第2担体粒子の平均アスペクト比が3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
【請求項1】 第1担体粒子に担持されている第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2担体粒子に担持されている第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記アノード層中の前記第1触媒材料の平均密度が1.0mg/mm3を超え、前記カソード層中の前記第2触媒材料の平均密度が1.0mg/mm3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
【請求項2】 第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記アノード層中の前記第1触媒材料の電気化学的表面積/体積比が200cm2/mm3を超え、前記カソード層中の前記第2触媒材料の電気化学的表面積/体積比が200cm2/mm3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
【請求項3】 第1担体粒子に担持されている第1触媒材料を含むアノード層と、第2担体粒子に担持されている第2触媒材料を含むカソード層とを有する膜電極集合体(MEA)であって、前記第1担体粒子の平均アスペクト比が3を超え、前記第2担体粒子の平均アスペクト比が3未満である膜電極集合体(MEA)。
