Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To project the details of the nature of a disease in the anterior segment of the eye with a video camera by adding an orange color filter to an adapter lens thereby suppressing (cutting) cobalt blue light and allowing the transmission of green fluorescence.
SOLUTION: The video adapter lens comprises the orange filter, transparent glass and a knob (lever) for inserting/taking both into and out of the optical system of the adapter lens. In viewing with fluorescein fluorescence, a user turns the knob disposed on the outer side of a main body tube to swing the orange filter in the body tube onto the optical path. In ordinary viewing exclusive of the fluorescent viewing, the user swings out the same and swings in the transparent glass.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO

Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a microscope / video adapter lens used for taking an image of an ophthalmic slit lamp microscope with a video (digital) camera. 2. Description of the Related Art There has been no slit lamp microscope / video adapter lens with an orange filter. Fluorescein fluorescence excited by cobalt blue light was photographed with a video camera as it was together with cobalt blue light. [0003] Therefore, there is a dilemma that can be observed with an eyepiece but cannot be captured with a video camera. In the present invention, by adding an orange filter to the present adapter lens, cobalt blue light is suppressed (cut), green fluorescent light is transmitted, and details of anterior eye disease are displayed on a video camera. [0004] An orange filter that does not transmit cobalt blue excitation light but transmits grey fluorescence is prepared. Since there are cases where normal observation is performed using halogen light (or tungsten light) instead of fluorescent observation,
Transparent glass is also prepared for confocal properties. These are mechanisms that can be alternately inserted / extracted (IN-OUT) into the lens barrel. When a cobalt blue excitation light is applied to a disease stained with fluorescein, it emits green fluorescence. This mixed light of cobalt blue and green passes through a slit lamp microscope, is split by a beam splitter, and about 50% is observed from an eyepiece. The remaining about 50% of the mixed light passes through the microscope / video adapter with orange filter of the present invention. At this time, the mixed light cuts off the cobalt blue light and passes the green light. The green light reaches the video camera. Therefore, the site where fluorescein has accumulated, that is, the disease, is displayed brightly in green. Other parts are projected in black. EXAMPLE An orange glass filter and a transparent glass are prepared. By turning a knob (lever) outside the lens barrel around the optical path of the adapter lens, when one of them swings in, the other swings out. The filter and the like are installed in the immediate vicinity (below) of the C mount of the lens for easy operation of the knob. The transparent glass is provided for the purpose of eliminating defocus. According to the present invention, a site where fluorescein is accumulated is selected as a green color and photographed by a video camera. The amount of fluorescence increases according to the amount of fluorescein accumulated, resulting in a bright green color. Thus, gradation occurs. Detail is filmed. Areas where fluorescein has not accumulated are photographed in black (dark grey). In other words, nothing is shown. Another secondary effect,
Since the light is green light, proper exposure can be obtained by the automatic light control function of the video camera. Blue light resulted in underexposure and automatic light control could not be used.
