【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、金属ストリップ
をコイル状に巻き取った際に、該コイルに生じる巻形状
不良を修正する装置に関するものである。
【0002】
【従来の技術】金属ストリップ、例えば鋼帯の製造ライ
ンにおいて、熱間圧延または冷間圧延後の鋼帯は、コイ
ラーによってコイル状に巻き取られる。この巻取りは、
通常、水平方向に延びる巻取り軸の周りで行われるが、
その際、巻付け不良や巻取り張力の変動などの様々な要
因によって、コイル内周部または外周部のテレスコープ
(端部が軸方向にずれてコイルエッジからはみ出すこ
と)やエッジ不揃い等、巻形状不良が発生する場合があ
る。この巻形状不良が発生した場合は、巻戻してから再
度巻取る、巻直しを行って巻形状を修正することが一般
的である。
【0003】ところが、巻取る鋼帯が厚物や広幅である
場合には、そのサイズに巻直し設備が対応していないと
巻直しを行うことができず、また巻癖を利用する用途で
あったり、巻取り後に直ちに搬送する連続処理を所期す
る場合などには、巻直しは想定されていない。かような
背景の下、巻形状不良が発生した場合に、巻直しを行わ
ずに、その修正を連続した製造ライン上で行うための技
術開発が急務になっている。
【0004】巻直しを行わずにコイルの巻形状不良を修
正するには、上記のように巻取り軸を水平として巻取ら
れた、いわゆるダウンエンド状態のコイルを、その軸が
鉛直方向となる向き、いわゆるアップエンド状態に置い
てから、コイル自重、重しあるいは上からの押しつけに
よって矯正する方法が採用されている。
【0005】しかしながら、巻取り後に直ちに搬送する
連続処理を所期する場合は、水平軸周りに巻き取ったダ
ウンエンド状態のコイルをそのまま搬送ラインに載せる
必要があるため、コイルをアップエンド状態に置き直す
工程を付加することは難しい。
【0006】ここに、ダウンエンド状態のコイルについ
て、その巻形状不良を修正する方途が求められるとこ
ろ、特開平9−57341 号公報には、ダウンエンド状態で
搬送されるコイルの両側に配設した、空気又は油圧駆動
による押付け装置により、コイル端面から突出する部分
を内部に押込むことが提案されている。
【0007】この提案によって、搬送ライン上でダウン
エンド状態のコイルの両側からの押付けによって、確か
に巻形状不良の修正をはかることが可能であるが、コイ
ルの両側からの押付け力を適切に制御し、その装置のス
トロークを両側できちんと同調させないと、ダウンエン
ド状態という不安定な姿勢をとるコイルは、容易に転倒
する危険性がある。
【0008】この点、特開平9−57341 号公報に記載の
技術では、押付け力の制御は勿論、コイルと押付け装置
との間の距離を製品との関連において制御しているが、
これらの制御はコイル転倒を念頭に置いたものではな
く、従ってその防止をはかることは難しく、またこれら
制御を実現するためには、多大な設備と労力を要する不
利があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】そこで、この発明の目
的は、搬送ライン上でダウンエンド状態のコイルの両側
からの押付けによって、巻形状不良の修正をはかる際、
コイルの転倒を簡便な手段で回避し得る、新規な構造の
コイルの巻形状不良修正装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、金属ストリ
ップをコイル状に巻き取った際に、該コイルにおける巻
形状不良を修正する装置であって、軸が水平となる向き
に置いたコイルの搬送ラインを跨いで架構を配置し、該
架構の両脚部に、搬送ライン上のコイルの端面に向かっ
て進退可能の押さえ板をそれぞれ設け、さらに架構を移
動可能に設けたことを特徴とするコイルの巻形状不良修
正装置である。

【発明の実施の形態】以下に、この発明のコイルの巻形
状不良修正装置について、図1を参照して詳しく説明す
る。なお、この発明の装置は、例えば鋼帯の連続製造ラ
インにおいて、熱間圧延後の鋼帯を巻取ったコイル1
を、その巻取り状態のまま、つまりダウンエンド状態で
移送する、搬送ライン2上において、巻形状不良の修正
を行うものであるが、搬送ライン外で使用可能であるの
は勿論である。
【0012】すなわち、この発明の装置は、搬送ライン
2を跨いで架構3を配置し、この架構3の両脚部3aお
よび3bに、搬送ライン2上のコイル1の端面に向かっ
て進退可能の押さえ板4aおよび4bをそれぞれ設けて
成る。これら押さえ板4aおよび4bは、それぞれの脚
部3aおよび3bに、油圧シリンダまたはエアシリンダ
などの駆動機構5を介して取り付けられている。そし
て、駆動機構5の動作によって、押さえ板4aおよび4
bを搬送ライン2上のコイル1に向かって進行し、押さ
え板4aおよび4b間でコイル1を挟圧することによっ
て、コイル1の端面を整えるのである。
【0013】ここで、押さえ板4aおよび4bをコイル
1の端面に押付ける際、適正な押圧力およびストローク
が正確に与えられないとコイル1の転倒を誘発する不利
をまねくことは既に述べたとおりであり、この問題を解
消することが肝要である。この発明の装置では、押さえ
板4aおよび4bを取り付けた、架構3を移動可能に設
置することによって、上記の問題を解消したところに特
徴がある。
【0014】すなわち、架構3の両脚部3aおよび3b
の下端部に、それぞれローラー6を取り付けることによ
って、例えば工場の床上に架構3を移動自在に設置す
る。かように設置した架構3に支持された、押さえ板4
aおよび4bを、搬送ライン2上のコイル1の端面に向
かって押付けた際、仮に押さえ板4aおよび4bに与え
るストロークや押圧力が異なっていたり、コイル1から
各押さえ板4aおよび4bまでの距離が不等であるな
ど、コイル1が転倒する要因があった場合に、その不均
衡の状態を、押さえ板4aおよび4bのベースである架
構3自体が、押さえ板の進退方向に移動を繰り返すこと
によって、均衡した状態に移行させ、最終的には、コイ
ル1端面への押圧を押さえ板4aおよび4b間で均等に
行うことができる。
【0015】また、架構3の動きによって、コイル1の
端面に、押さえ板4aおよび4bを介して適切な押圧力
が均等に作用するため、コイル1の端面に損傷を与える
ことなく、形状修正が達成される。
【0016】なお、図1には、押さえ板4aおよび4b
をコイル1の内周部付近に対応する大きさとした、コイ
ル内周部テレスコープに対応した例を示したが、図2に
示すように、押さえ板4aおよび4bをコイル1の端面
を確実に覆う大きさとし、コイル内、外周部テレスコー
プは勿論、内外周間のエッジ不揃いにも対応させること
が可能である。

の修正を、コイルの転倒をまねくことなく、かつコイル
に損傷を与えることなく、簡単な構成の装置によって実
