Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emblem, which can prevent the occurrence of a crack and enhance the removability of dirt, and create a great contrast between the emblem and other conventional emblem in their visibility.
SOLUTION: Thin grooves 6 are formed in a row on the surface 2S of the side wall of a tire to form a decorative part 4 comprising serrations 3 formed with ridges 7 rising up between each thin groove 6. In the decorative part 4, display grooves 9, whose depth is different from the depth ha of the thin grooves 6, are formed in the part of thin grooves 6 that shapes the emblem 5B or covers the outline of it, so that an emblem display part 10 is formed.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

2. Description of the Related Art As shown in FIGS. 7 (A) and 7 (B), on the surface of a sidewall of a tire, a mark a composed of characters, numbers, figures, etc. is visually recognized. In order to improve the property, a strip-shaped decorative portion e made of serrations formed by ridge-shaped bodies c that are formed by arranging the narrow grooves b in parallel is generally used as the background of the mark a. A high rib element a1 which is formed and projects the mark a toward the outside of the tire more than the ridge c.
And the surface of the rib element a1 is formed into a smooth surface or a serration pattern different from that of the decorative portion e.

However, the side wall is one of the parts that is most likely to be bent and deformed during running, and therefore, when the conventional mark a composed of the rib element a1 is often used, the mark surface is cracked due to bending fatigue. Etc. are likely to occur, leading to a decrease in appearance and durability. In addition, since the bag-shaped portion d surrounded by the high rib element a1 is formed in the mark a, the mud-repelling property is deteriorated and stains are difficult to remove.

On the tire, as a mark a to be displayed,
In addition to trademarks and maker names, there are many that are obligatory based on the standard, but all of these are rib elements a1.
When it is formed by, it is difficult to give great strength and weakness to the visibility, and the appearance becomes cluttered as a whole, so that the visibility to the mark to be emphasized most tends to decrease.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION An embodiment of the present invention will be described below.
This will be described together with the illustrated example. FIG. 1 is a side view showing a sidewall of a tire of the present invention. In FIG. 1, a tire 1 is provided with a decorative portion 4 made of serrations 3 and a mark 5 made of, for example, letters, numbers, figures, etc. formed on the sidewall surface 2S with the decorative portion 4 as a background. There is.

Further, the serration 3 forming the decorative portion 4 is
As shown in the enlarged view of the cross section in FIG. 2, by forming the narrow grooves 6 in parallel on the sidewall surface 2S, a ridge-shaped body 7 that rises between the narrow grooves 6 is formed. Although various conventional cross-sectional shapes can be used as the ridge-shaped body 7, as in the present example, a triangular cross-section with an apex angle α of, for example, about 90 °, or a trapezoidal cross-section with its apex chamfered. What is preferable can be used. Since the ridge-shaped body 7 is formed as a land portion between the narrow grooves 6 provided in the sidewall surface 2S as described above, the virtual surface connecting the tops of the ridge-shaped bodies 7 is The surface is substantially the same as the sidewall surface 2S.

The ridge-shaped body 7 is, as shown in FIG.
The serrations 3 are arranged at a constant angle θ with respect to the radial line R of the tire, thereby forming the serrations 3 having vertical stripe patterns substantially parallel to the adjacent ridge-shaped bodies 7.

At this time, the ridge-like bodies 7 are preferably arranged at a constant pitch interval P, and the pitch interval P at the radially inner edge position 4a of the decorative portion 4 is the mark 5.
From the viewpoint of visibility, the range of 0.6 to 1.5 mm is preferable. The angle θ of the ridge-shaped body 7 is 0 ± 45 °
The range of (−45 ° to + 45 °) is preferable, and if it exceeds this range, the ridge-shaped body 7 is excessively inclined, which makes it difficult to cut into a mold, and the inner and outer edges of the decorative portion 4 in the radial direction. Between them, the difference in the pitch interval P becomes large, which is disadvantageous to the visibility of the mark 5. In this example, the angle θ is approximately 20 °.
Is illustrated.

Next, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, a display groove portion 9 having a depth ha different from the depth ha of the fine groove 6 is formed in the fine groove 6 along the mark 5 or its contour. By providing the mark 5, the display groove portion 9 forms the mark display portion 10 for displaying the mark 5.

It is advantageous to form the display groove portion 9 as a shallow bottom portion having a depth hb smaller than the depth ha of the narrow groove 6 in order to keep the pitch interval P constant, It is also preferable from the viewpoint of tire durability. The depth hb of the display groove portion 9 is 30 times the depth ha of the narrow groove.
The range of up to 70% is preferable for ensuring visibility.

Further, in this example, the display groove portion 9 is provided along the second mark 5B, so that the mark display portion 1 is formed.
0 represents the appearance in which the entire mark is raised from the groove bottom of the narrow groove 6. The display groove portion 9 may be formed in a contour line shape along the contour of the second mark 5B. Since the display groove 9 is lower than the top of the ridge-shaped body 7, cracks do not occur in the mark 5B due to bending fatigue, and the appearance and durability can be prevented from being deteriorated.

Next, the first mark 5A is displayed by the rib element 12 protruding from the sidewall surface 2S, as shown in FIG. 6, as in the conventional case. That is, by forming the rib element 12 along the mark 5A, the convex mark display portion 14 for displaying the mark 5A as the convex mark 13 is formed. At this time, it is preferable that the mark 5A (convex mark 13) is non-serrated by forming the rib element 12 with a smooth surface. As a result, the visibility between the marks 5A and 5B is greatly enhanced, and the first mark 5A, which requires strong visibility, can be further emphasized. As shown by the alternate long and short dash line in FIG. 6, serrations 15 having a pattern different from that of the serrations 3 may be formed on the surface of the mark 5A (convex mark 13) as required.

In addition, it is possible to give a large degree of visibility to other conventional marks, and it is possible to perform an orderly design design with a high degree of freedom, and the mark that is most emphasized. Visibility can be improved. Further, the appearance of the mark display portion changes in a hidden character shape depending on the viewing angle, so that the mark display portion is rich in unexpectedness and can give a strong impression to the viewer.
