示しない左方の軸を中心として公転するシーミングヘッ
ド1には複数個のシーミングスピンドル3,3,・・・
が円周上等間隔に夫々軸受6により巻締回転(自転)す
べく支持され、その上方には潤滑オイルのタンク2が設
けられている。
【0003】巻締する缶10の胴11は下方のリフター
13上に置かれ、その缶10の胴11の上に巻締める缶
蓋14は、上記シーミングスピンドル3のシーミングチ
ャック15とそのシーミングスピンドル3内のガイドリ
ング16内を上下動するノックアウトロッド17下端の
パッド18とで缶10の胴11に押しつけられ、第1、
第2のシーミングロール19,19は図示しないシーミ
ングシャンクシャフト下端に支持されたシーミングレバ
ー21,21により缶10の胴11に向かって接近すべ
く、また公転および自転自在に支持されている。尚、図
中22はクランプナット、23はスペーサー、24はシ
ーミングスピンドル3の駆動ギヤである。巻締回転時に
はリフター13上に置かれた缶蓋14を載置した缶10
がリフター13とパッド18によって挟持された状態で
上昇し、シーミングチャック15でチャックされ缶蓋1
4と缶10の胴11は圧接される。次に第1、第2のシ
ーミングロール19,19が順次圧接して巻締めるもの
である。尚、これらの構成と動作は本発明の要旨とは関
係がないので、詳細説明は省略する。
【0004】従来のシーミングスピンドル3の軸受6の
密封装置においては、図2示のように軸受6の内輪に嵌
着する各シーミングスピンドル3の摺動部外周にウエア
リング4を嵌着し、その外周摺動面に耐摩耗性のクロム
メッキ皮膜5が形成され、その面に軸受6の固定側外輪
に固定したロワーリング7内のオイルシール8が接触
し、その下方にロワーリング7のラビリンスシール9が
形成されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、このような密
封装置は、図示しない給油装置の濾過器で除ききれなか
った潤滑油中の異物、摩耗粉等が摺動部に侵入しシール
部材に食い込んで、摺接するウエアリング4の摺動面の
クロムメッキ皮膜5を傷付けて異常摩耗させ、また機械
の洗浄、殺菌を行う時には薬液やスチームがラビリンス
シール9を越えてオイルシール8の下側即ち大気側から
シールリップ部に浸入し、シール部材を浸潤して早期劣
化させ、これらによりシール機能は著しく低下し、軸受
6部の潤滑オイルの漏れを引き起こし、巻締製品や機械
を汚染し、衛生上問題となっている。本発明はかかる欠
点を解決するもので、大気側からの浸潤によるシール部
材の早期劣化を防止し、且つシール部材と摺動する軸の
摺動面の耐摩耗性を向上させることで、シール機能の低
下を防止するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明の請求項1は、缶
巻締機のシーミングスピンドル(3)の軸受(6)の密
封装置において、オイルシール(8)の大気側に耐薬液
性、耐熱性、耐摩耗性を有する樹脂からなるリング状の
保護部材(30)を配設し、またシール部材と摺動する
摺動面には金属酸化物を主成分とするセラミックスを用
いたセラミック溶射皮膜(31)を生成して摺接させた
ことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、図1につき本発明の一実施
の形態を従来の図2と同じ部分は同じ符号を用い、異な
る部分のみを説明する。シーミングスピンドル3,3,
・・・を支持する軸受6を潤滑する油を密封する密封装
置において、軸受6の固定側外輪に固定したロワーリン
グ7内のオイルシール8のシール部材にはその下側の位
置、即ち大気側に例えば四フッ化エチレン樹脂に代表さ

同様の効果を得ることができるが、相手軸を延長する必
要がないように密封装置を小型化するためにもシール部
材と一体に配設することが望ましい。

タンク2より軸受6の上部に供給され、軸受6を潤滑し
た後、その下部よりオイルシール8上に溜まる。一方、

を有しているため摺動面を異常摩耗させることがなく、
同様にその耐久寿命を飛躍的に向上させ、これら両者を
摺接させることで、長期にわたり油漏防止機能を持続さ
せることができるものである。

同様にその耐久寿命を飛躍的に向上させ、これら両者を
摺接させることで、長期にわたり油漏防止機能を持続さ
