Claims (10)

  1. 少なくとも１つのホストプロセッサカード(300A)を含む複数のプリント回路アセンブリ(300)と、
    前記複数のプリント回路アセンブリに接続され、前記プリント回路アセンブリのオンライン挿入および取り外しの監視および管理を含むサーバシステムの動作の監視および管理を専門に行う管理カード(300E)と
    からなるサーバシステム(100)。
  2. 前記管理カードは管理プロセッサ(502)およびＬＡＮスイッチ(532)を含み、該ＬＡＮスイッチが前記少なくとも１つのホストプロセッサカードの管理接続に接続され且つ前記管理プロセッサの管理接続に接続される、請求項１に記載のサーバシステム。
  3. 前記複数のプリント回路アセンブリを前記管理カードに接続するためのバックプレーン(106)をさらに含む、請求項１に記載のサーバシステム。
  4. 前記少なくとも１つのホストプロセッサカードは、前記バックプレーンに配線された少なくとも１つのＩ２Ｃバス(554)を介してステータス情報を前記管理カードに伝送するように構成される、請求項３に記載のサーバシステム。
  5. 少なくとも１つの冷却ファン(304)および少なくとも１つの温度センサ(324)をさらに含み、前記管理カードは、前記少なくとも１つの冷却ファンの速度を前記少なくとも１つの温度センサから供給される温度データに基づいて調節するように構成される、請求項１に記載のサーバシステム。
  6. 前記管理カードは、該管理カードと通信するための複数のシリアルポート(310)をさらに含む、請求項１に記載のサーバシステム。
  7. サーバシステム(100)を管理する方法であって、
    顧客のオペレーティングシステムおよびアプリケーションを実行するための複数のホストプロセッサカード(300A)を設けるステップと、
    顧客のオペレーティングシステムおよびアプリケーションを実行しない専用管理カード(300E)を設けるステップと、
    前記専用管理カードを用いて、前記ホストプロセッサカードのホットスワップの監視および管理を含む前記複数のホストプロセッサカードの動作の監視および管理を行うステップと
    からなる方法。
  8. 前記管理カードを用いて、前記複数のホストプロセッサカードの管理ＬＡＮ通信を監視するステップをさらに含む、請求項７に記載の方法。
  9. 前記複数のホストプロセッサカードから前記管理カードへ少なくとも１つのＩ２Ｃバス(554)を介してステータス情報を送信するステップをさらに含む、請求項７に記載の方法。
  10. 複数のリムーバブルカード(300)を有するサーバシステム(100)用の管理専用サーバ管理カード(300E)であって、
    サーバ管理用ソフトウェアを格納するためのメモリ(500)と、
    前記サーバ管理用ソフトウェアに基づいて前記サーバシステムの動作を監視および管理するために前記複数のリムーバブルカードに接続され、該複数のリムーバブルカードに対してホットスワップ機能を提供するコントローラ(502,508)と
    からなる管理専用サーバ管理カード。
