Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drained water through a cowling of vehicle from flowing to a rear edge of a fender liner and from freezing at a lower edge of a trailing edge of a fender panel in a cold condition. SOLUTION: The draining structure of cowling comprises an opening part 4a passing through an inner wall of an apron upper member 2 in a connecting part between the apron upper member 2 of vehicle and a cowling 1, draining rain water which has entered the cowling 1 into the apron upper member 2 through the opening part 4a, and draining the rain water downwardly through a drain hole 5a of a bottom wall 20 of the apron upper member 2, draining it to outside of the vehicle, and flowing the water along an arch-shaped fender liner 7 which forms a wheel house under the apron upper member 2. The drain hole 5a of the apron upper member 2 is formed immediately above a top upper part 70 of the fender liner 7, and at the top upper part 70 there is formed a front-inclined drainage conduit 9 which receives drainage falling from the drain hole 5a so as to flow the drainage to the front side of the fender liner 7.

However, in the conventional drainage structure, when the vehicle is traveling, the rainwater flowing down along the rear half of the fender liner 7 is, as shown in FIG. 6, the lower end of the rear half of the fender liner 7. In the vicinity, it is easy to be washed backward along the inner surface of the fender panel 8 due to traveling wind or the like entering the fender panel 8. In particular, when snowmelt water flows down along the second half of the fender liner 7 while traveling in a cold region, the snowmelt water ic that has flowed down freezes around the rear edge flange 80 of the fender panel 8 that forms a parting line with the front door D. When the door D is attached, it may interfere with the front edge of the door D to hinder the opening and closing of the door D. In the figure, D1 is a hinge member of the door D.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention, an apron is provided at a connecting portion between an apron upper member having a closed cross section structure extending in a vehicle front-rear direction and forming an upper edge of a side wall of an engine room of the vehicle and a cowl extending in a vehicle width direction. An opening is provided that penetrates the inner wall of the upper member and connects the inside of the cowl with the inside of the apron upper member, and rainwater and the like that have entered the cowl are discharged into the apron upper member through the opening and the apron upper member is Drain downward through the water drain hole provided in the bottom wall and let it flow down along the arch-shaped fender liner that is installed inside the fender panel forming the outer wall of the vehicle body below the apron upper member to form the wheel house. In the cowl drainage structure for draining to the outside of the vehicle, make the drain hole of the apron upper member directly above the top of the fender liner. While forming the location, the top portion of the fender liner to form inclined ditch edge before allowed to flow down toward receiving waste water falling from the water drain hole to the front side of the fender liner (claim 1). The drainage discharged from the cowl into the apron upper member is dropped from the drain hole of the apron upper member to the drain groove at the top of the fender liner, and the drain groove allows it to flow only to the front side of the fender liner. It is possible to prevent drainage from flowing into the rear side of the fender panel and prevent freezing of the lower end of the rear edge of the fender panel.

Rainwater and the like that have entered the cowl 1
It is discharged from the opening 4 a to the intermediate portion in the apron upper member 2 along the protruding edge 15 of the bottom wall. The drainage discharged into the apron upper member 2 is the drain hole 5a of the bottom wall 20.
Is discharged from and falls. At this time, the drainage inside the apron upper member 2 is the water return bead 6 behind the drain hole 5a.
It is blocked by a, does not flow backward, and is reliably discharged from the drain hole 5a. Further, the drainage water dropped from the water drainage hole 5a is drained from the drainage groove 9 of the top 70 of the fender liner 7.
And is flowed down to the front half of the fender liner 7 along the bottom of the drainage groove 9. In this case, the waste water that has fallen into the drain groove 9 is blocked by the water return beads 6b at the rear end of the drain groove 9 and does not flow down to the rear half side of the fender liner 7. Then, the drainage flowing down along the front half of the fender liner 7 is discharged to the outside of the vehicle from the drainage port 72 formed at the lower end of the front part of the fender liner 7.

Rainwater or the like that has entered the open cowl 10 travels along the projecting edge 16 and is discharged from the opening 4b to the front side inside the apron upper member 2, and from the drain hole 5b in the bottom wall 20 to the front half of the fender liner 7. It drops upward, flows down along the front half of the fender liner 7, and is discharged to the outside of the vehicle through the drainage port 72 at the lower end of the front part.
