Off-gas desulfurization method
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for desulfurization of offgas with a high water vapor content. More specifically
The present invention comprises a method for reducing the total sulfur content of off-gas from a sulfur recovery plant.

Hydrogen sulfide (HTwoA method for producing elemental sulfur from S), wherein hydrogen sulfide is converted to oxygen or
Sulfur dioxide (S) generated from hydrogen sulfide by partial oxidation with an oxygen-containing gas such as air

It is often used in the process of treating hydrogen sulfide recovered from water. Traditional Crow

It consists of a container. The process behind this is a so-called catalyst process. In the combustion chamber

4HTwoS + 2SOTwo ← → 4HTwoO + 3STwo … (2)
In this manner, HTwoAbout 60% of S is converted to elemental sulfur
Is done. The gas exiting the combustion chamber was produced by cooling to about 160 ° C. in a sulfur condenser.
The sulfur condenses and the condensate flows via a siphon into a sulfur tank. Don't condense
H in the gasTwoS and SOTwoIs still 2: 1 but this is
To about 250 ° C. before passing through the first stage catalytic reactor. Here, againIs established.
The exit gas of the first stage catalytic reactor is then cooled again in a sulfur condenser and the resulting liquid
After recovering the sulfur, the remaining gas is reheated and sent to the second stage catalytic reactor.
Depending on the number of catalytic reactor stages, the sulfur recovery in a conventional Claus plant
Is 94-97%. Therefore, a significant amount of HTwoS and SOTwoStill remains

One of the important phenomena affecting the limits of the Claus method is HTwoS to sulfur
As the conversion proceeds, the water content in the process gas may increase.
The Claus reaction is accompanied by this increase in water vapor content,TwoS and SOTwoOf concentration
The thermodynamic limit can be created due to the decrease, so that the equilibrium of the Claus reaction (2) shifts to the left.
Move on. To avoid this limit as much as possible, condense the water vapor in the process gas.
Preferably. However, since the dew point of water is much lower than the freezing point of sulfur,
Condensation of water vapor in the Claus method is caused by clogging due to solidification of sulfur or formation of sulfurous acid.
It causes difficult problems such as corrosion.
Conventionally, off gas of the Claus method was burned by an afterburner. However
In a situation where environmental requirements are becoming more and more severe, this method is no longer
Unacceptable.
For these reasons, improvements were made to the Claus method and the off-gas removal process in the Claus method.
In the Claus method, the removal rate was 94-97%.

It is then selectively oxidized to elemental sulfur.
These catalysts are described, for example, in European Patent Application No. 0 242 920 and

The drawback of the Claus tail gas treatment process, which is to convert
It cannot meet the recent demand to recover more than 90%.

For example, as in the SCOT process, water is agglomerated following hydrogenation,
HTwoThe Claus tail gas treatment process for absorbing S into the absorbing solution is as follows:
A total sulfur recovery of 99.90% or more can be achieved, but equipment costs and energy costs
The major drawback is that the height is terribly high. For example, SUPERSCOT or
State-of-the-art SCOT processes such as LS-SCOT have a total sulfur recovery of 99.

An advance is the biological desulfurization of flue gas.
Biological desulphurization of flue gas is described in Lucht, No. 1; 4 (December 1994)
Has been stated. The BIO-FGD process described there is a power plant chimney

Thus, it is dissolved in a diluted sodium hydroxide solution.

This solution is subsequently processed in a two-stage biological reactor.
The first biological treatment stage involves sodium bisulfite formed in an anaerobic reactor.

Preferred electron donors include, for example, hydrogen, ethanol, hydrogen and glue.
There is a course. The second biological treatment stage involves sodium sulfide in an aerobic reactor.
The system is oxidized to elemental sulfur and separated.
Chimney gas from burning coal or fuel oil contains a small amount of water vapor

The BIO-FGD process to the desulfurization of Claus off-gas
Then, because the water content of the Claus method offgas is high, the gas must be cooled.
No. This is to prevent water vapor from condensing in the sodium hydroxide solution.
Therefore, when condensation occurs, part of the sodium hydroxide solution must always be taken out of the system.
No longer.
Therefore, the Claus off-gas always needs to be cooled, sour sour condensation
Things are generated and must be taken out of the system.
This problem does not occur with off-gas desulfurization from coal or oil-fired power plants.
No. This is because the dew point of the water is lower than the operating temperature of the absorber. Therefore, this species
The cooling of the off-gas is simple, since no condensation of water takes place.
A first object of the present invention is to desulfurize offgas having a high water vapor content of 20 to 40% by volume.

A further object of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks and to obtain 99.90% or more of total sulfur.
The aim is to provide a method that results in a yellow recovery.
The present invention relates to a process for producing a gas having a water content of 20 to 40% by volume from the dew point of the water.
At the above temperature, HTwoA sulfide-containing solution that absorbs S and then forms

A gas having a water content of 20 to 40% by volume has a water dew point of 60 to 80 ° C,
It is in fact that the biological oxidation is at least 65 ° C., more particularly 70-90 ° C.
It means that it will occur in ° C. Especially surprising is that
That is, appropriate biological oxidation can be efficiently performed at an extremely high temperature.
According to the method of the present invention, in order to reduce the total sulfur content in the offgas, first,
Raise the temperature of the offgas to 200 ° C or higher, and then add hydrogen and / or carbon monoxide.

According to the method of the present invention, offgas from the hydrogenation reactor outlet is present in the gas.
Cool to just above the dew point of the existing water vapor to prevent condensation. Preferably
Cool to 3-5 ° C. above the dew point.
The off-gas, specifically the off-gas of the Claus recovery plant, converts 20 to 4 steam.
Since it contains 0% by volume, its dew point is between 60 and 80 ° C.
In the absorber, this off-gas is then combined with a diluted alkaline solution having a pH of 8-9.

In this method, the solution is placed in a biological aerobic reactor at the same temperature, preferably
Since it is supplied at the same temperature as that performed, there is no need to heat or cool.
When the required amount of air is introduced into the aerobic reactor, the dissolved HTwoS is oxygen in the air
And is converted into elemental sulfur according to the following formula.
Then, preferably also at the same temperature, the sulfur is dissolved in sodium hydroxide in a sulfur separator.
Separated from the liquid, the solution is returned to the absorber. HTwoHydrogenated nato absorbing S
It is also possible to cool the lithium solution before feeding it to the biological aerobic reactor.

However, after the sulfur has been separated, the solution is reheated before returning to the absorber.
