亜鉛0.36g(全体量に対して3.0重量%)を混合
してなる粉状の殺虫剤組成物12gを、ポリエチレンラ
ミネートセロハンフィルム袋に封入して本発明で用いる
燻煙殺虫剤袋(1)を調製した。これを、金属アルミニ
ウム製の燻煙筒体(2:直径5.5cm、高さ8cm)
の上部に形成された凹部(3:直径4cm、高さ5c
m)に収納し、一方、燻煙筒体(2)の内部空間には、
凹部(3)の周面や底面を全て取り巻くように、加水発
熱物質である酸化カルシウム(4)を充填した。燻煙筒
体(2)の底面には給水孔(5)が数個設けられてお
り、使用前に酸化カルシウム(4)が吸湿して劣化する
のを防止するため、これらの構成部材をアルミニウム製
袋で密封した(図示せず)。使用に際しては、まず閉め
切った6畳の部屋の中央に所定量の水(6)を満たした
外缶(7)を置いた。前記アルミニウム製袋を破袋し
て、燻煙殺虫剤袋(1)を含む燻煙筒体(2)を取り出
し、外缶(7)に設置したところ、20秒後に燻煙が確
実に開始し、燻煙は約4分間継続した。その後の調査
で、フェノトリン及びメトキサジアゾンの揮散率がそれ
ぞれ、80%、77%であり、ゴキブリや屋内塵性ダニ
に対して高い防除効果を示すことが認められた。

み加熱するように充填した。閉め切った15畳の部屋で
実施例1と同様に燻煙処理を行ったところ、26秒後に
燻煙が開始し、燻煙は約6分間継続した。噴煙は部屋全
体に拡散し、ペルメトリン及び3−ヨード−2−プロピ
ニルブチルカーバメートの揮散率は、それぞれ、73
%、74%であった。また、処理前後のゴキブリ、屋内
塵性ダニ、及びカビ類の密度の推移を調べた結果、処理
後においていずれの密度も著しく減少していることが認
められた。

を付着させた燻煙剤用点火具の場合は着火後、燻煙開始
までの時間を測定した。 殺虫成分の揮散率;噴煙を捕集し、これに含まれる殺
虫成分量を分析して燻煙前初期量に対する揮散率を求め
た。なお、表1中、「a」、「b」とあるのは殺虫成分
の項に示された殺虫成分の揮散率である。 殺虫効力;空間の4隅に、ピレスロイド感受性チャバ
ネゴキブリ、及びピレスロイド抵抗性チャバネゴキブリ
をそれぞれ10匹ずつ含むシリンダーを置き、燻煙48
時間後に死虫率を調べた。なお、表1中、「感」は感受
性ゴキブリを、そして「抵」は抵抗性ゴキブリを示す。 総合判定;上記試験項目、ならびに燻煙時の状況、処
理後の汚染状況等を斟酌して評価した。良好な場合を
○、不良の場合を×で示し、特別な所見がある場合それ

m)に成形した場合、酸化亜鉛の配合の有無や、フィル
ム袋への封入の有無にかかわらず、燻煙開始までの時間
が遅れ、殺虫成分の揮散率も低下傾向にあった。また、
粉状の殺虫剤組成物をフィルム袋に封入せずに加水反応
加熱すると(比較例5)、燻煙の開始が早くなりすぎ、
また内容物が容器外に飛散して汚染を生じるという問題
があった。更に、粉状の殺虫剤組成物をフィルム袋に封
入しても酸化亜鉛を所定量配合しない場合(比較例6〜
7)、実施例に比べて燻煙開始までの時間が遅れ、殺虫
成分の揮散率が幾分低かった。また、発熱手段として、
棒状発熱剤の先端部にマッチ頭薬等の発火薬を付着させ
た燻煙剤用点火具を用いた場合(比較例8)、発熱エネ
ルギーが低く、揮散率や着火の確実性の点で改良の余地
があった。以上の試験結果から、酸化亜鉛を含む粉状の
殺虫剤組成物がフィルム袋に封入された燻煙殺虫剤袋
を、加水反応加熱と組み合わせる本発明の燻煙方法が最
もすぐれた燻煙システムを提供することが明らかであ
る。

成物が封入された燻煙殺虫剤袋を、筒体の上部に該燻煙
殺虫剤袋の収納のための凹部が形成されかつ筒体の内部
空間が実質閉鎖されている燻煙筒体の前記凹部に収納
し、次いで該燻煙筒体の内部空間に充填された加水発熱
物質に給水することにより、燻煙を給水後10〜30秒
以内に開始せしめ、しかも該燻煙を殺虫成分の揮散率が
70%以上の高水準に達するものとしたことを特徴とす
る燻煙殺虫剤の燻煙方法。
