Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ADSL(Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) compatible remote moving picture transmission system that can remotely control a robot camera through a LAN(Local Area Network) and an ADSL by transmitting a moving picture through IP connection by using the ADSL capable of higher-speed transmission in comparison with an ISDN line and compatible with the LAN.
SOLUTION: This invention provides the ADSL compatible remote moving picture transmission system where the robot camera 3 at a remote place adopting an infrared ray relay system by a PB (Pushbutton) tone is controlled by H. 323 digital CODECs 7 that run on the ITU standardized protocol H. 323 and mutually transmit a moving picture under the TCP/IP environment by using ADSL MODEMs B adopting the ADSL technology capable of high-speed communication simultaneously using far higher frequencies than those of a conventional telephone line. Through the configuration above, the ADSL compatible remote moving picture transmission system allows a headquarters at a remote place to control the robot camera 3 installed in e.g. a shop to conduct leftward/rightward/upward/downward/panning/zooming operations and to manage the camera by means of a screen image thereof.
