Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.1以上の顧客の家屋でそこに作動的に接続された複数の電話を含むハイブリ ッドファイバー同軸ネットワークにおいて、前記ネットワークは、電気/光学 コンバータを介して同軸ケーブル伝送システムに接続された光ファイバー伝送 システムを介して顧客の家屋と双方向通信する少なくとも1つの集中化した通 信ノードを含み、各電話はネットワークインターフェースユニットを介して同 軸ケーブルに接続され、ネットワーク電話に電力を供給する装置であって、 正常動作の間に前記ネットワークインターフェースユニットのCTSPに電 力を供給するため、前記ネットワークインターフェースユニットと従来のAC 電源とに接続された自局コンバータ/充電器と、 前記コンバータ/充電器への従来のAC電力送出の中断の間に電力を供給す るため、ネットワークインターフェースユニットに接続される予備電池と、 前記予備電池と前記ネットワークの同軸ケーブル伝送システムに接続され、 前記自局コンバータ/充電器からの電力送出が中断される場合に、十分な浮動 電圧を充電した状態の電池を維持するため前記ネットワークから電力を受け取 る電池細流充電器と、 を含むことを特徴とする装置。 2.電話が前記ネットワークに接続されていない時に前記ネットワークから前記 顧客の家屋への電力送出を選択的に切断するため、同軸ケーブル伝送システム と前記ネットワークインターフェースユニットに接続されるスイッチを更に含 む請求項1に記載の装置。 3.前記電池が鉛酸型の電池を含む請求項1に記載の装置。 4.1以上の顧客の家屋でそこに作動的に接続された複数の電話を含むハイブリ ッドファイバー同軸ネットワークにおいて、前記ネットワークは、電気/光学 コンバータを介して同軸ケーブル伝送システムに接続された光ファイバー伝送 システムを介して顧客の家屋と双方向通信する少なくとも1つの集中化した通 信ノードを含み、各電話はネットワークインターフェースユニットを介して同 軸ケーブルに接続され、ネットワークインターフェースユニットに電力を供給 する方法であって、 正常動作の問に電力を供給するため、前記ネットワークインターフェースユ ニットに従来の電源を接続し、 前記従来の電源からの電力送出の中断の間に予備電池に自動的に戻し、 前記ネットワークからの細流電力を受け取り、 前記予備電池を充電し十分な浮動電圧を充電した状態を維持するため、電池 細流充電器に前記受け取ったネットワーク電力を供給する、 ことを含むことを特徴とする方法。 5.電話が前記ネットワークに接続されていない時に前記ネットワークから前記 顧客の家屋への電力送出を選択的に切断することを更に含む請求項4に記載の 方法。 6.前記充電器への前記ネットワーク電力の供給を監視して前記電池の充電動作 を確かめることを更に含む請求項4に記載の方法。
