Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mirror video system used for exhibition in museum or the like, in which a model and a video are combined, that allows each audience to view the video in an interactive way or a participation way corresponding to the interest of each audience. SOLUTION: When an audience 1 uses an infrared ray projector 2 to emit a light to an object 3 the explanation about the internal mechanism or the like of which the audience desires, an infrared ray video camera pick up an image 6 resulting from a reflected infrared ray from an emitted area. An image processing unit on the basis of the image segments in real time the range equivalent to the image 6 among explanation video images having been prepared in advance, a display device such as a CRT 10 displays the segmented display video 9 and provides desired explanation sounds or the like. The audience can view the video 9 displayed on the display device 10 and reflected in a half mirror 11 as a virtual image at a position of the object 3. Or a projector in place of the half mirror may be used to project the display video 9 onto the object 3 as a projected video image.

Means for Solving the Problems (a) A spectator 1 holds an infrared light projector 2 in his / her hand and illuminates a desired object 3 as when looking at the object with a flashlight. (B) An infrared video camera 5 capable of photographing a range 4 where an explanation image is displayed for the object 3 is installed. (C) The infrared video camera 5 captures an infrared reflected light image 6 of the object 3 illuminated with infrared light. (D) Using an image processing device 8, a range corresponding to the infrared reflected light image 6 is cut out in real time from the prepared explanation video 7 to obtain a display video 9. This is C
It is displayed on a video display device 10 such as an RT, and audio is played if desired. (E) Since the display image 9 displayed on the image display device 10 appears at the position of the object 3 as a virtual image 12 due to the reflection of the half mirror 11, the spectator 1 can use the light illuminated by himself / herself on the object. It feels like the virtual image 12 has appeared. (F) In the system having the above configuration, a similar effect can be obtained by a method in which the display image 9 is directly projected on the object 3 by the image projector 13 as the projection image 14 without using the half mirror 11. (G) The infrared light projector 2 may emit light in combination with visible light so that irradiation can be confirmed even when the infrared light projector 2 is directed in a direction where there is no image.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to an example. An image displayed on an image display device 10 is reflected on a half mirror 11 as shown in FIG. In a mirror image system displayed as, a spectator 1 has an infrared light projector 2 and can irradiate an infrared light to an object 3 whose internal mechanism or the like is desired to be described. An infrared video camera 5 set so that an infrared image can be captured in a range 4 in which an image is displayed on the object 3 is installed above the half mirror 11 or on the audience side. The infrared video camera 5 can capture an infrared image of an object by reflection of the half mirror when installed above the half mirror 11 and by transmission when installed on the audience side. Now, when the spectator 1 illuminates the target 3 with the infrared light projector 2, an infrared reflected light image 6 in the illuminated range is captured by the infrared video camera 5. On the basis of this image, a range corresponding to the infrared reflected light image 6 is cut out in real time from the explanation video 7 prepared in advance using the image processing device 8 to obtain a display video 9, and this is displayed. The information is displayed on the video display device 10 such as a CRT, and the sound is output if desired. The sound may be changed depending on the selected object. Since the display image 9 displayed on the image display device 10 is reflected by the half mirror 11 and appears as a virtual image 12 at the position of the object 3, the spectator 1 can view the area of the object 3 illuminated by the light. The virtual image 1
You can see the appearance of 2 and feel like having a mysterious light. According to this method, the audience can focus on the places where they are interested and find out where the video is hidden in the exhibition. Is realized. Also,
When a plurality of spectators illuminate the object 3 with the infrared light projector 2, a complicated image window in which a plurality of light patterns are overlapped is formed. It is the same as when illuminated, giving a very natural impression. still,
In order to avoid malfunction due to reflection on the display surface of the video display device 10, the display surface may be processed so as to have low reflection with respect to infrared light, or a filter for attenuating infrared light may be provided in front of the display surface. . If it is difficult to provide a half mirror,
In the above system, even when the display image 9 is directly projected on the object 3 by the image projector 13 as the projection image 14, a similar effect can be obtained if the object is relatively flat and the reflectance is good. In addition, the infrared light projector 2 may emit light together with visible light so that the user can know where the image is illuminated even when the image is directed in a direction where there is no image, and the light emission pattern is the same as that of the infrared light. Various variations can be considered, such as indicating only the frame of the infrared light region, displaying an arrow, and the like.

According to the present invention, the audience can illuminate the object of interest as if illuminating the object with a flashlight, and confirm the internal structure with an image or illuminate the hidden image. You can experience impressive display images such as discovering, and if you use it for museum exhibitions, etc., interactive video display with extremely high interactivity will be realized.
