Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with a contact protection function with which end parts of both connecting terminals can be protected by preventing deterioration and breakage of the connecting terminal end parts that are connected with each other. SOLUTION: A dummy terminal 23 connected with a dummy wiring 28 is installed in the male connector housing 16, and a spring 20 for arc discharge is installed in the female connector housing 14, and also prior to the contact between the male connecting terminal 15 and the female connecting terminal 17 with each other, the dummy terminal 23 and the spring 20 for arc discharge come into a contact when the female connector housing 14 and the male connector housing 16 fit together, and at the release of the fitting between the female connector housing 14 and the male connector housing 16, the contact is released after the release of the contact between the male connecting terminal 15 and the female connecting terminal 17 with each other. Therefore, by generating arc discharge through the contact between the spring 20 for arc discharge and the dummy terminal 23 connected to the dummy wiring 28 prior to the contact between a contact projection 19 and a contact spring 25, the original contact part is prevented from being deteriorated and damaged by the arc discharge.

However, in the above-described connector, when the female connector 1 and the male connector 2 are fitted in a conductive state, the distal end portion 4A of the male connection terminal 4 and the distal end of the female connection terminal 6 are connected. Since the first contact is made, there is a problem that an arc discharge occurs at the contact portion to deteriorate or break the contact portion. Also, when releasing the connection state of the connector, since the distal end 4A of the male connection terminal 4 and the distal end of the female connection terminal 6 are finally separated, an arc discharge occurs in this portion to deteriorate and damage the contact portion. There is a problem.

The dummy terminal 23 and the arc discharge spring 20 come into contact before the contact protrusion 19 and the contact spring 25 come into contact when the male and female connectors 11 and 12 are fitted. I have. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the arc discharge spring 20 projects forward from the contact protrusion 19, and the dummy terminal 23 is also arranged so as to project forward from the front end of the female connection terminal 17. When the fittings 11 and 12 are fitted, they come into contact before the contact between the contact projection 19 and the contact spring 25. When the contact projection 19 and the contact spring 25 come into complete contact with each other, the contact curved portion 20A that has been in contact with the contact projection 19 is separated by the release projection 16H, so that the male connection terminal 15 is unstable and unnecessary. Therefore, since arc discharge occurs between the dummy terminal 23 and the arc discharge spring 20, when the contact projection 19, which is the original contact portion, and the contact spring 23 come into contact, the arc discharge is generated. This prevents the contact projections 19 and the contact springs 23 from being deteriorated or damaged by arc discharge. The dummy terminal 23 and the arc discharge spring 20 are deteriorated or damaged by the arc discharge. However, since the dummy terminal 23 is not an original contact portion, no problem occurs even if the deterioration occurs.

Although the embodiment has been described above, the present invention is not limited to this, and various modifications accompanying the gist of the configuration are possible. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the dummy terminal 23 is disposed so as to protrude forward from the front end of the female connection terminal main body 22. However, the dummy terminal 23 is set at a position similar to the front end of the female connection terminal main body 22, The other arc discharge spring 20 may be set so as to protrude forward from the contact protrusion 19.
