腐食してしまうという課題がある。さらに蓄電池の端子

電池(以下これを素電池1と云う)を用いた本発明によ
る組電池モジュールを示す斜視図である。素電池1の電
槽や電槽蓋の外装部材は難燃性を有しない樹脂材料、例
えばポリプロピレン樹脂で構成されている。素電池1が
横置き状態で6個配列された状態で鋼板製の収納ケース
2に収納されている。収納ケース2は一面のみが開口し
た箱型形状を有している。なお、素電池1は排気部3お
よび端子部4が外部に露出するように収納されている。
収納ケース2の開口した部分はカバー5(斜線部で示
す)で覆われている。カバー5には図2に示したように
排気部3からでるガスや電解液ミストを排気するために
貫通孔6が設けられている。排気部3は貫通孔6に貫通
することによってガスや電解液ミストを収納ケース内部
に蓄積しない構成とすることができる。さらにカバー5
には端子間接続をカバー5の外側で接続できるように端
子部4をカバー5の外側に突出させる貫通孔7が設けら
れている。素電池1間の接続は図3に示したように端子
部4のカバー5の外側に突出した部分で接続板8等の接
続手段を用いて行われる。カバー5は難燃性の樹脂材料
から構成される。例えば難燃性の硬質塩化ビニル樹脂等
を用いることができる。このような構成により素電池1
は相互に隣接する素電池1との対向面を除いた周囲の面
は金属製の収納ケース2もしくは難燃性のカバー5で覆
われるので火災時に素電池に引火することがない。また
カバー5の素材として用いた塩化ビニルは排気部3から
稀に排出される電解液ミスト(希硫酸)と接触しても腐
食することがない。また、カバー5自体には電気伝導性
がないのでカバー5を介して端子部4間がショートする
危険性もなく、金属板と比べて重量が軽く取り外しが容
易で素電池1の定期点検時に端子部4の腐食、液漏れ等
の不具合の検査がしやすい。また、カバー5の素材とし
て素電池1を透視可能な透明性を備えたものを用いた場
合には取り扱い点検時にカバー5を取り外す必要もな
く、点検作業効率を高めることができる。
