In the structure of the conventional vehicle mirror 2 shown in FIG. 2, the mirror substrate 4 and the ring 10 are in direct contact. The contact portion 4a between the mirror substrate 4 and the ring substrate 4 of the ring 10 is rubbed by the vibration of the vehicle, and the contact portion 4a of the ring 10 is worn. If the contact portion 4a of the ring 10 becomes worn out, the mirror substrate 4 will rattle, generate abnormal noise, and reduce the visibility of the reflected image. If the ring 10 is painted,
The paint of the contact portion 4a is peeled off by the rubbing of the mirror substrate 4 and the ring 10, and at the same time, the appearance portion 1 of the inner peripheral surface of the ring 10
The coating of No. 0a may be continuously peeled off, leading to poor appearance. Further, if the mirror substrate 4 is rattled, the side surface 4b of the peripheral portion of the mirror substrate 4 may come into direct contact with the support member 8a due to the vibration of the vehicle, and this also causes abnormal noise.

According to the present invention, an elastic member is attached to the entire periphery or a part of the periphery of the mirror substrate so as to surround the front surface, the side surface, and the back surface of the periphery of the mirror substrate. The portion on which the elastic member is mounted is sandwiched in a pressed state between a housing disposed on the back side of the mirror substrate and a ring disposed on the front side of the mirror substrate, and the housing and the ring are joined to each other. Thus, the mirror substrate is supported between the housing and the ring. According to this, an elastic member is interposed between the mirror substrate and the ring and between the mirror substrate and the housing, and the mirror substrate and the ring, and the mirror substrate and the housing are not in direct contact with each other. Therefore, the elastic member absorbs the vibration of the vehicle by deformation,
Since the mirror substrate and the ring do not rub against each other, rattling due to wear of the ring does not occur. Therefore, abnormal noise due to direct contact between the mirror substrate and the ring and between the mirror substrate and the housing does not occur, and the visibility of the reflected image does not decrease. Even if the ring is painted, the mirror substrate and the ring do not rub against each other, so that the paint does not come off.
In addition, even if the ring or housing is deformed, the elastic member absorbs this deformation, so that a large force is partially applied to the mirror substrate, preventing the mirror substrate from being distorted and preventing cracking due to stress. can do.

Further, the present invention can be configured such that a width of a portion of the elastic member on the rear surface side of the mirror substrate is set wider than a width of a portion of the elastic member on the front surface side of the mirror substrate. According to this, since the width of the portion of the elastic member on the front surface side of the mirror substrate is narrow and the width of the portion on the rear surface side of the mirror substrate is wide, the peripheral edge of the mirror substrate is difficult to mount when the elastic member is assembled from the rear surface side of the mirror substrate. The part easily passes over the front surface side portion of the elastic member, is housed in the portion surrounding the front surface, side surface, and back surface of the mirror substrate peripheral edge portion of the elastic member, and is hard to fall off from the back surface side portion of the elastic member. Become. Therefore, the assemblability of the elastic member to the mirror substrate can be improved. In addition, also when the mirror substrate on which the elastic member is mounted is installed on the support member of the housing, the elastic member does not easily come off the mirror substrate, so that the assembling property and the productivity can be improved. In addition, since the width of the surface of the elastic member is small, the field of view of the mirror is not narrowed.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below. FIG. 1A is a front view showing an embodiment of a vehicle mirror 22 according to the present invention, and FIG. 1B is a sectional view taken along the arrow B in FIG. 1A. FIG. 3 is a detailed view of a portion C in FIG. The mirror substrate 24 has a reflective film formed by depositing a metal such as Cr on the front surface or the back surface of a glass substrate. On the mirror substrate 24, a ring-shaped elastic member 26 integrally formed of rubber, soft resin, or the like is attached to the entire periphery. As shown in FIG. 3, the elastic member 26 has a U-shaped cross section opened on the inner peripheral surface, and the peripheral portion 24A of the mirror substrate 24 is accommodated in the opening, and the surface 2 of the peripheral portion is
4a, the side surface 24b, and the back surface 24c are surrounded by a U-shaped cross section of the elastic member 26. In the front opening of the housing 28 formed of resin, the mirror substrate 24 is positioned along the position where the rear outer edge of the mirror substrate 24 is arranged.
Are formed integrally with the housing 28 at a plurality of positions (points indicated by dotted lines in the front view). The mirror substrate 24 is supported by a support member 28a in the housing 28. At this time, the mirror substrate 24
Are mounted and supported on the lower side of a hook-shaped notch formed on the upper part of the support member 28a, and are positioned in the surface direction on the side of the notch. In this state, the ring 30 formed of resin is fitted into the housing 28 and joined from the front side of the mirror substrate 24. By joining the housing 28 and the ring 30, the elastic member 26 is sandwiched and held between the mirror substrate 24 and the support member 28 a and between the mirror substrate 24 and the ring 30 in a pressed state. In this state, the mirror substrate 24 and the ring 30 and the mirror substrate 24 and the support member 28a
Since the elastic member 26 is interposed therebetween, there is no direct contact. The elastic member 26 absorbs the vibration of the vehicle by deformation. Therefore, the mirror substrate 24 and the ring 30 are not rubbed, and there is no backlash caused by wear, and no abnormal noise or a decrease in the visibility of the reflected image occurs. Further, even if the ring 30 is painted, the mirror substrate 24 and the ring 30 are not in contact with each other, so that no rubbing occurs and the paint does not come off. Also, no abnormal noise is generated between the mirror substrate 24 and the support member 28a. Further, even if the housing 28 or the ring 30 has a variation in product dimensions or deformation, the elastic member 26 absorbs this deformation, so that the mirror substrate 24 is not distorted and cracks due to stress are prevented.

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 shows a sectional view of a part of a vehicle mirror according to the present invention. Except for the structure of the elastic member 26, it is the same as that shown in FIG. The elastic member 26 is a mirror substrate 2
4, the width (y) of the portion 26b contacting the rear surface is set wider than the width (x) of the portion 26a contacting the front surface. The connection between the housing 28 and the ring 30 is the same as the structure shown in FIG. Since the width (x) of the portion 26a of the elastic member 26 on the front surface side of the mirror substrate 24 is narrow and the width (y) of the portion 26b on the rear surface side of the mirror substrate is wide, the elastic member 2
When assembling 6 from the back surface side of the mirror substrate 24, the peripheral edge portion 24A of the mirror substrate 24 easily climbs over the front side portion 26a of the elastic member 26, and the opening 26A of the elastic member 26 has a U-shaped cross section. The elastic member 26 is housed and hardly falls off from the portion 26b on the back surface side of the elastic member 26. Therefore, the assemblability of the elastic member 26 to the mirror substrate 24 can be improved. Also, the mirror substrate 2 on which the elastic member 26 is mounted
Also when the support member 4 is installed on the support member 28a of the housing 28, since the elastic member 26 is unlikely to come off the mirror substrate 26,
The assemblability and productivity can be improved. Also,
Since the width of the surface-side portion 26a of the elastic member 26 is small, it can be hidden under the ring 30 and does not narrow the field of view of the mirror.
