塞したとき、該ジェットポンプの吐出管側にある仕切り
弁を閉にして駆動水を吸込管側に逆流させて閉塞物を吸
込管外に排出すると共に、スクリーンの一部を開にして
前記閉塞物をスクリーンの外側に排出することを特徴と

しており、揚砂運転を再開すると再度これを吸引してし
まい、前記と同じことをくり返すという不具合が起る。
これを防止する手段して吸い込み管の下部にそれを覆う
ようにスクリーンを設置し、しかもスクリーンの一部を
開閉自在にしておくと、前記したような駆動水の逆流に
よって閉塞物は吸い込み管外に押し出されると共に、や
はり駆動水の逆流による水圧でスクリーンの開閉部が押
し広げられて、その開口部から前記閉塞物はスクリーン
外に排除される。それを確認した後で駆動水を停止する
と、スクリーンはその中に何も残存しない状態で自重で
閉状態になる。次に揚砂運転を開始してもスクリーン外
に排除された前記閉塞物は再びスクリーン内に入り込む
ことができず、前記したようなスクリーンがない時のよ
うな不具合は起らない。また固定されたスクリーンを設
置したとしても、吸い込み管から排出された閉塞物はス
クリーン外には排除されないから、スクリーンが無いの
