2. Description of the Related Art Recently, for example, as a leg for a desk,
The upper stay supporting the top plate and the lower stay having the adjuster for grounding are connected via a square pipe-shaped connecting element forming a front and a rear pair, and a space formed between the two connecting elements is a decorative panel. There is developed one that is closed by the use.

In this case, a thin flat panel is used as a decorative panel. Therefore, in such a decorative panel, the upper and lower ends are fitted into the concave grooves provided on the upper stay and the lower stay, and the front and rear ends are fitted into the concave grooves formed respectively on the opposing surfaces of both coupling elements. By being combined, it is held at a fixed position.

However, in such a structure, the decorative panel has a form in which the decorative panel is fitted into the frame formed by the upper and lower stays and the front and rear connecting elements. . Therefore, there is a problem that it is difficult to change the shape of the entire leg body, and the degree of freedom in design design is low. Moreover, since the connecting element is always exposed to the outside as an element constituting the frame,
Not only is it required to have strong performance, but also conditions for adjusting the appearance of the product and a function for holding the edge of the decorative panel are required. For this reason, it is difficult to make the connecting element, for example, a sheet metal that is difficult to process delicately, and the structure and material that can be adopted are limited to those of high-grade specifications using extruded aluminum or the like. Problem.

According to such a configuration, it is not necessary to hold the decorative panel on the connecting element. Therefore, it is not only easy to simplify the mounting structure of the decorative panel, but also it is not essential to perform processing for holding the decorative panel on the connecting element. Moreover,
Since the decorative panel is provided on the side surface of the connecting element, it is possible to cover all or a desired portion of the connecting element with the appropriate decorative panel. Therefore, the degree of freedom in selecting the structure and material of the coupling element is greatly improved.

Therefore, according to this embodiment, the decorative panel 5A (5B) has a rigidity such that it does not bend or bend when standing up, and the shape retention is maintained only by holding the upper and lower ends. Since it can be secured, it is possible to adopt a simple mounting structure in which the upper and lower ends are simply fitted into the upper and lower stays-3. Further, according to such an attachment structure, the decorative panel 5 can be made detachable and the operation thereof can be facilitated. Therefore, the decorative panel 5A (5B) is very suitable for replacement or sorting and disposal. Becomes Furthermore, since the decorative panel 5A (5B) is not held by the coupling element 4 but is held by the upper and lower stays-3,
It is not necessary to perform processing or the like for holding the decorative panel 5A (5B) on the coupling element 4. Moreover, since the decorative panel 5A (5B) is provided along the side surface of the connecting element 4, it is possible to cover all or a desired portion of the connecting element 4 with the appropriate decorative panel 5A (5B).
Therefore, the degree of freedom in selecting the structure and material of the coupling element 4 is greatly improved.

In addition, the decorative panel 5A (5B) is not limited in its form by the frame.
The form of the decorative panel 5A (5B) itself can be designed relatively freely, and the degree of freedom in the design of the entire leg 1 is improved. Particularly, in this embodiment, the decorative panel 5A (5B) is made of sheet metal, which is extremely advantageous in terms of cost. Further, since the upper stay 2 and the lower stay 3 are detachable from the coupling element 4, it is possible to improve the assemblability and simplify the manufacturing.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. For example, in order to make use of the feature of the present invention that the decorative panel itself can be designed freely, and to enhance the sense of quality and texture, it is desirable that the decorative panel be made of thick wood. In addition, taking advantage of the feature of the present invention that the coupling element can be covered by the decorative panel, the aspect of the coupling element may be variously changed. For example, it is conceivable that the connecting element is made of a support column arranged to be separated from the front and back.

Further, the concealed area by the decorative panel may be set so as to completely cover the connecting element so as not to be externally visible, or to cover only a part thereof. Of course, the leg according to the present invention can be applied not only to the desk but also to legs of various kinds of furniture to achieve the same operation and effect as in the above embodiment. In addition, various changes can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
