【請求項2】 前記複数の像担持体ユニットを着脱自在に保持する第一側板及び第二側板を有し、前記複数の像担持体ユニットは、前記第一側板及び第二側板の一方の側板に設けた駆動ユニットを基準にして他方の側板に開閉可能に設けた開閉蓋ユニットにより位置決めされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
【請求項】 前記開閉蓋ユニットは、前記開閉蓋ユニットを閉じた時に前記他方の側板に設けた第一基準軸に嵌合する第一基準穴を有すると共に、各像担持体ユニットの像担持体の軸を回転可能に保持し像担持体の軸の横方向の位置規制を行う軸受部を備えた第一保持手段を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
【請求項】 前記開閉蓋ユニットは、前記開閉蓋ユニットを閉じた後の転写材搬送方向への移動により、前記他方の側板に設けた第二基準軸に嵌合する第二基準穴と、各像担持体ユニットの像担持体の軸に嵌合し像担持体の軸の縦方向の位置規制を行う嵌合穴を備えた第二保持手段を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
【請求項】 前記光学ユニットは前記ステイに対して光学ユニットの光軸を基準にして回転可能に取り付けられ、前記第一調整手段は前記光学ユニットを回転させることで、それぞれの対応する像担持体ユニットの横方向の位置に対して位置調整を行うことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
